I agree it was a good video, but what an insane comment. “Finally someone isn’t giving me proof that what they’re saying is true. I want people to tell me something as concisely as possible so I can just blindly trust it.”
Flawless. So many people struggle with these basic concepts, including the experts. It's not nearly as complicated as some would like to make it. Love your stuff
Probably the worst advice I have seen in a long time. It is what people want to hear and not what is actually healthy. As far as I know doctors learn nothing about nutrition and nothing about health so why mentioning it?
@@mrsoul4231 too much fiber, too much sugar. when someone tells you to eat fruit all day, he has no clue that fructose is metabolized like alcohol and you can actually damage your liver just with "natural" fruit. Real fruits don't have as much sugar as the stuff you can buy in the supermarket. And most vegetables you wouldn't even consider as food in their natural form. The easiest way to judge if something is healthy, is to think about our ancestors as hunters and gatherers. They had access to a lot of things, but not throughout the year and most plants only in very small amounts (also no processed grains). Our digestive system is clearly that of a carnivore and suffers from too much fiber and sugar. Also all mammals live from fat as primary energy source and not carbs (maybe there are some fruit-monkeys or something but even plant-eaters metabolize the fiber to fat and not carbs). There is no reason to believe that humans are an exception to this. Being able to store glycogen is not proof that you have to eat carbs. It is just an adaption for times when better food is scarce. Carbs are maybe good in autumn when harvesting season was to get fat for the winter but I guess it is still healthier to skip that. Most people never realize how addictive carbs are. I will never get tired of honest people shooting their shot at explaining the basics of health in one simple video. This is not only a brilliant presentation but something I actually feel comfortable sharing to someone who isn't mind-numbingly scrolling through videos like this like many of us in the comment section likely are.
1:27 as someone from Essex I thank you for this. I can't stand it when people throw in made up words to impress. Great video, short, snappy, witty and informative. Appreciated.
I mean, all words are made up. The English language actually has average 10,000 new words added to it each year. But, I understand what you are saying.
Once again, well done! Nutrition should be simple, only when it became so toxic and full of "experts" that people got confused and started doing random cutting of foods, adding strange supplements and getting more overweight. This video is amazing, back to basics!
@samendrakumar1278 I think he means that if their diet is overly strict (like never eating cereal/protein bars/coke zero sometimes), they won't be able to sustain it forever. Basically, you have to be at least somewhat flexible for long term success.

@@kevinburtnick7818 Soda isn't fundamentally bad it's all a question of balance and if you know when and how to use it and how much you consume. Food mostly isn't just black or white, the sum is what matters, and sometimes the extra sugar can help people to get through a task or their day. Of course it's not the only thing that can help in that situation, but its an option. One of the most important things in nutrition and dietary science is to stop seeing food categories as fundamentally bad or good and caring more about the sum and your individual use case.
@soerenbo You may not fully understand human behavior. We don't require statistics to comprehend the devastation caused by food addiction. Soda consumption is a significant factor, look around. Soda is not the one major factor, a bad diet is a bad diet, you can also only drink diet soda or water and still have a bad diet. It's not the one thing that makes people fat, it's one factor, but not the one. Yes there are lots of people who don't understand the amount of calories they put into themselves while drinking, but that still doesn't make it wrong to drink it if you know how to dose and balance it. I’ve watched dozens of food - health videos over the years.. this is an excellent video, straight to the point and easy to understand. Thank you sir!!!
This is one of the best advice videos for a healthy lifestyle. I’m just starting my journey and went grocery shopping. I’m a little slow but your explanation was perfect.
I want to try this out, I have struggled with being 10-20 pounds more than I would like for the past few years but every time I watch a video that is supposed to explain this all I can think of is the grocery bill. Unfortunately the things I can afford and the things that are healthy aren't usually the same, but I'm definitely more motivated to start, thank you.
Well, would you look at that! Three minutes and forty-three seconds, and you conveyed your message. Thank you for showing us that you don't need a 1-hour video to explain healthy eating, like some channels out there I won't name.

It's ridiculous how easy it really is.. We all know what we should eat but gets confused by all the different diet videos, This is the only video people should watch
I just realized I haven't seen one of your videos for over a month. The recommendations and algorithm messed up. Catching up now! I live in the Pacific Northwest, where we grow apples and wheat and lentils. Apples contain malic acid which is really good for your gut bacteria ❤
I love how straight forward James is. This shows how easy it is to eat healthy. Although it's almost impossible to find a healthy protein powder nowadays which is why I'm now making my own organic bulking version with no harmful sweeteners and additives 😂
For your average bloke this stuff works. For people with thyroid dysfunction, autoimmune disease, which is quite a bit here in the states it’s not enough. I work with the worst of the worse and they need far more than simply caloric deficits. I agree things should be simply but for many the toxic load they’re already suffering from requires detoxification, mineral supplements and others.
Watching this video made me realize I actually follow that same advice for years now (with smaller oscilations) and that I for the same reason went from 110 to 100 kg in a year only with a change in diet while for the past 6 years i lost 30 kg steadily. Not much planning, only more good habits. #applemunchingang #grannysmithforpresident2024

It’s all true what he’s saying. I’ve started to eat better the past 4 weeks I’ve lost 13lbs but more importantly than that I’ve gotten my life back I feel more energetic I’m doing more I’ve been needed to paint the living room for months I’ve just been to fat and lazy to do it today I got up and cracked on with it. Im being more productive at work I’m sleeping better all round my quality of life has improved
