The sq5 and q8/ sq8 are my favorite sporty suvs. In my opinion, as an owner, they do everything very well. Not best in class, but very well. They are beautiful, practical, well made, the diesel(for eu markets) arecreliable amd econimical, they handle well, comfortable and in my opinion the only few vehicles in the class that can hit a trail, specially when equiped with the rear limited slip diff. I d love to see a b9.5 sq5 or sq8 hit the trails, Brian, make it happen.
8:50 is actually very clever. All I can say is that my wife uses heated seats, even in summer, when it’s that time… cramps cramps cramps. So that feature is kinda genius.
Not all of us buy SUVs just for the high ride or to get in other peoples' faces. Some us buy them with the intention of off-roading. Of having no limits driving out of the grid. And some of us want our SUVs to have a flair of luxury and drive well wherever our whims drive us.
This really look like an 65k car, 79k at best. That'll be it's pricing within 3-4 years. Your reviews are so refreshing, so calm. Thanks for this style of videos.
Maybe if people would actually think about maintenance instead of thinking all they have is their car payment, all of these cars easily would last 100k
When I was younger, luxury cars were for people who could afford them, this was before "leasing" became the norm. Now everyone thinks they "should" have a luxury car too, for economy car prices..🙄🙄🙄
You never bought a luxury car huh? This car is $85k as most people will get them optioned at, with 10% or more off sometimes with loyalty, it’s farrr from $100k
Very refreshing ( and unusual ) to see a luxury car review where the driver didn't giddily drive around the whole time in sports mode like a arrested developmentally middle aged man.
The way so many people use the comments on these videos as places to feel morally above another … just enjoy what you enjoy, there’s a reviewer for you that fits your needs better. Some of us like both, sport mode and more in depth reviews like this. Chill and just enjoy cars friend 😊
“What makes a $100,000 vehicle in 2024?”…..the answer…not much. When a Jeep Wrangler has the same price tag as a high end Audi, there’s some issues going on in the automotive world. Now granted, those two vehicles cost a hundred grand for very different reasons and target completely different buyers, but still, in no universe should a Jeep and a fully loaded Audi cost the same money. But everyone is different and spends their money on different things. But it’s just an insane thing IMO.
'Can you sleep in it'... very useful segment. I'm glad he does this. I don't overland or anything, but on long road trips I'll catch a few Z's back there.
15:46 - you made the same mistake on your previous audi video. There is a setting(steering intervention - early/late) to limit the left-right variance threshold within lane. If you enable it, this system is very good - it will hold the lane centered. Better than kia/hyundai and most certainly better than subaru Also... there is a launch control available on almost all base models(A4,Q5...); You just need to know how to enable it: setting, tc off - hold it for 5sec, engine temp warm, steering wheel straight, hold the brake and you'll get 3500rpm
@@drivingsports Yes, I drive a 2021A5 and it works on mine, also works on a few rental q5s I've had in the past years(launch control). The documentation does not specify anything, you are right - I purchased mine new, it took me a year to find out. The lane centering seems to not be available on base models. But I can tell you, on my car is holding the road beautifully when set to early
@@drivingsportsthat comment missed a step. If you pull back on the shifter again after going into drive, it puts the transmission into sport mode. So sport mode on the MMI then shift into sport mode on the transmission, and turn off traction. It also takes a lot of pressure on the brake as well.
Ryan always says the craziest things that make you go 'huh?' This time the zero-to-60... "5.49s is faster than Audi's claimed 5.5s". I'm sure his dash-mounted meter is good but highly doubt it's precise to within 0.01s. That seems kind of crazy.
Have you driven one? Or just basing that off this video? I think you’d have a more accurate or atleast a more facts based take if you get a chance to. It weird to make such a judgment off a video …
@@LafemmebearMusic I’ve not driven this specific car no. I’ve driven a a 2023 Audi A8 which is basically the sedan version of this line. It’s a remarkably quiet and spacious vehicle. The materials are high quality and substantial to touch. But what it is not is comfortable, the seats are too firm for my tastes with no way to soften them. The design language is also dated. I’ve seen more modern design language in new Cadillacs for 10k dollars less. If you’ve driven the Audi line, you’ll note that the A8 drives very similarly to the A4 for half of the price. I stand by my comment of depreciation. Audi has always struggled with it and it’s one of the worst in the market.
This reminds me of the Touareg. Of all the times to not have a pseudolux overland off roader in the lineup VW. Just bring it back, if the Q7/Q8 meet US regs I'm sure the Egg can
This SUV is too expensive for what it is, it used to be that 100K got you RS models at the very high end, not a regular Q. We need to say NO to these prices, buy used!! Otherwise they won't get the memo.

Audi's Quattro is probably the best AWD system in luxury cars.
For that much a lightly optioned SQ 8 is more desirable IMHO
