This man is so cool. I appreciate science communicators who don’t sound or act condescending while explaining.

This guy can make studying the most fun thing to do
He is a great teacher and communicator but watching his videos is not "studying" unless we are talking the HS level.

The sign of a truly intelligent person is that they can explain any concept to anyone, knowing how to simplify to make it easier to understand, but also keeping it true.
But it's not true... so...
But he literally told a lie to tell this explanation... No one has zoomed in on a particle and found that its actually a string rather than a dot.
Now demand Michio show you a test or an experiment that has shown positive results that the universe is made of strings! Then come back and contemplate your original post again. EDIT: HINT --> String Theory is untestable. Therefore there is NO evidence of this, and yet Michio is one of the last people still holding on to this dwindling theory. String Theory is not gaining support, it is very slowly losing support in the scientific community.
@@callanc3925 Your statement is 100% correct.
@@callanc3925No, he did not lie. He said "IF I had a super microscope...."
He did not say he had such an instrument, or that he had actually seen the string.

I think this is the first time I've found a genius of physics explaining something to me that I could understand, so sad he isn't my teacher for every assignment of life. I would probably be a much better version of myself currently...
Charmed.. I see what you did there
Just the problem remaining that he is explaining something that has no connection to the real world whatsoever and is virtually useless.
Can you please refer some books that deal with incredible concepts of quantum physics in an easy and understandable yet interesting way?
Probably the most informative TH-cam Short video on TH-cam. As the physicist Einstein said, “If You can’t explain it to a six-year-old you don’t understand it yourself”.
Yeah, Einstein never said that…
Nice thought but idk that Einstein ever said that... Happy to be proved wrong 🤗
That was Richard Feynman’s quote, if I’m not wrong. He embodied the idea, and was responsible for interesting a wide unrelated audience in physics.
Very uninformative, Kaku is a well known physics scam and string theory has not been taken seriously as a theory for at least twenty years
And now i can explain it to a 6years old. But still, I dont understand it.
This video (the original one, not this short) was the first time i actually understood the theory after trying to do so for about 4 months. After that he immediately became one of my favorite physics teacher

A lucid and simple explanation denotes true mastery of a subject.
How would you know?
String theory can’t be tested or measured using today’s tech. There’s no evidence that strings is the smallest unit of matter in the universe
I don’t know. I think it is theatre of the absurd at this point. Look into it yourself and always remember to not just go with someone who SOUNDS like they know what they're talking about.
Look at what proponents and detractors have to say. Why they say it. And try to understand it.
Granted, unless you're in the field, or it's your hobby, you might never understand it to its core.

So everything is just an amalgamation of rubber bands.
This explains why gymnasts are so flexible. They must have more rubber bands than the rest of us.
I love that explaination and it is really simple to understand though might be a bit to simplicitic but is easy to understand teh basic structure, though I like to think of string theory in an unorthadox way by thinking that a particle is actually the vibrations of severa different types of strings that combine to create a particle
To clarify an easy misunderstanding:
A String IS NOT A THING.
To expand:
They are not made of any material substance; instead, they are purely theoretical constructs that represent fundamental units of energy.
As a life long scientist I am firmly of the belief, based on observation, analysis and theory, that the next big thing will be the science of resonance.
A time will come when we laugh that we assumed energy and phenomena occurred in a linear sinusoid or a “wave” behaving like a particle.
We will come to view toroidal fields as the default form and building block of the universe’s energies.
This will open a vast spectrum of technologies many based on what could be considered like wifi electrical transmission- without wires, this will develop and allow many new technologies.
If pursued we may find biological compliments to the phenomena which may lead to true programming of the “human bio computer” with civilization changing results.
Scratch that- I know this is the next step.
I know it has biological aspects we can leverage for amazing outcomes.
What I don’t know is if we will make it the ten-12 years until then or if (AGAIN) greed will stop a life saving or world changing technology
Thank you for this. I am NOT a scientist, but this is what I feel strongly, based on personal experience and observation of existence.
It is a spiritual teaching, that there are in fact no “things.” Not as we conceptualize them at least. At the core, everything is an aware energy, a conscious perpetual motion, a wave or flow that is itself alive and feeling. There are no “nouns” but instead only this conscious “verb” which is simply be-ing, and is taking form (the appearance of noun or “thing”) in order to express, experience and enjoy itself. The pure desire of this conscious be-ing is to experience itself as fully as possible. Thus, the eternal dance of form occurs.
At the core all that is, including our own experience of consciousness, is this - we are pure be-ing. Call it energy, vibration, resonance. It’s utterly nonphysical and not ever truly a “thing” - by being no-thing, we can experience every-thing. By being formless, we can experience all form rising and falling. And be-ing is perpetual, it remains untouched. It is a constant motion - even at rest, as rest is simply a state of motion; motion does not “die,” it simply changes states. This is true of energy which is neither created nor destroyed but always changing.
Anyway, this is my perspective. Again I am not a scientist. And I cannot prove anything about my experience to anyone, because it is mine. Scientists that I know personally, revolt at the notion that there is no objective reality. Then how can we know anything? They say. And the answer is, you’ve never known anything without experiencing it directly, personally, subjectively; and all experience is this. We cannot escape subjectivity; and as all is conscious, everything is observing itself at some level, aware or not. But aware consciousness (that which is aware of itself) seems to have a greater power, to determine how what is “observed” organizes itself. To me it’s far more interesting to discover and explore the overlaps in our realities and how shared perceptions are creating our experience…as well as how we can experience reality very, very differently, holding our own truths, our own experiences, which do not overlap and yet are no less “real” and true for each of us.
I’ve rambled, I apologize. Thank you for inspiring this expression.
My 6 year old self cannot and would not read nor understand your rumblings.
Please explain in human words.
Thanks.
@@omathitis8498everything is vibrating(for lack of a better word) at different speeds or frequencies. Resonance being when two things vibrate at a frequency that matches or causes a reaction. Light already works this way, pretty sure sound does too. I think he’s saying that’s the universal rule

While Michio Kaku undoubtedly possesses a unique talent for simplifying complex concepts like String Theory, it would be beneficial to delve deeper into its practical applications. Although primarily a theoretical framework, String Theory has made significant contributions to the advancement of mathematics, leading to the development of novel techniques and tools that have found applications in diverse fields such as cryptography and condensed matter physics.
Moreover, the intricate calculations inherent to String Theory have necessitated the creation of sophisticated algorithms and computational tools. These advancements have extended beyond the realm of theoretical physics, influencing fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, the Internet of Things, and wideband frequency modulation.
String theory is an untested hypothesis. More and more physicists are abandoning the idea as a wild goose chase. It's just a super complicated set of mathematical calculations that involves more than 11 dimensions. Michio Kaku (the man I love and respect) is always super excited about these untested ideas that border on science fiction rather than reality. So no. We won't see vibrating strings. Thanks

@@amarug okay so basically, the problem with our current standard model of particle physics and Einsteins GR is they fail to describe gravity at the quantum level, the math breaks down. String theory, or now superstring theory, allows gravity to be described in the quantum level, it predicts the graviton. However, there are some problems with this theory(not in the scientific sense, it’d be more of a hypothesis), I’ll just name one, because it can get very long explaining this.
