I wish there was more to this, like what the things were. My son is like this. The tiniest change or inconsistency in a space, and he picks up on it. He found a tunnel walled off inside of another tunnel once because the concrete covering the opening had a very slightly different texture than the rest. VERY slightly different. Like salt grains instead of sugar different. He can go for a walk and point out which trees the branches came off of just based on how he remembers them from previous walks. He is always right. He is never lost, and always knows exactly where he is relative to where he has been. He is also pretty severely autistic, so I'm not sure how to further develop these abilities, but it is interesting to see what he picks up on.
Yeah the brain is capable of some crazy stuff and this sort of savantism is the perfect example of that! Ik I had a friend a long time ago in grade school who could do ridiculous algebraic manipulations all in his head, and to be frank I was jealous of him! He basically said that it simply came naturally for him. I guess practice makes perfect though cause he only got better with time! They were definitely autistic too in retrospect although to me at the time, I just thought they were weird and had super powers... Or that they were cheaters lol😅.

I have an issue (I'm not exactly sure what it is, because antipsychotic medication doesn't work for it) with sometimes seeing weird hallucinations, including rarely entire people (well, sort of) with strange features, and there has always been a part of me that wonders if they aren't actually hallucinations, because I think a few times they realized I could see them, and some of them didn't seem very pleased about it
Sounds more like your 3rd eye is open instead of being psychotic. When it is open the shapeshifters (demons) can't hide from you. Once your vision is open you can see their real faces, animal legs/feet, etc. They don't like it if you can see them. I've heard people who can see them, and what they look like. If that is what you are really seeing, be thankful you can see them.
Oh wow, this used to happen a lot when I was a kid! Nothing that extreme, obviously, but I would see faces, figures and such when I was young. This was mainly because I was a very mute kid who stared at stuff for entertainment, it doesn't happen much now but i'll catch something weird every so often lol

I got serious chills when he said that he saw faces in wallpaper, because when I was kid I had very dark wood paneling in my bedroom and would see this huge figure that i would see in my dreams and follow me down the hallway to my parents room. I had to beg my parents to cover it with a picture so I couldn't see that particular spot in the paneling. I hated it when I was a kid but is give anything to be able to find that thick dark wood paneling for my walls now. Then again maybe I'd still see that figure in the wall.

That was an amazing video. Your narration was spot on. Hitting all the right emotions and feelings at the precise moment and elevating the feelings of suspense and horror just at the moment called for. Now the big 64,000 dollar question. Will it be possible that you and the author could get together and make this a series? Speaking for myself, I could see dozens of different scenarios coming out of it.

Fascinating. And horrific~! :D You see, I have prosopagnosia, or face blindness. If I see even my own family members in a place I'm not expecting them, I don't recognize them until they speak. And heaven forbid I forget to memorize their shirt colour before losing them in a crowd. While my recall of faces is abysmal, I still see faces everywhere. I'm frequently looking at the vaguest impression of two eyes and a mouth in grains of wood or the openings of trash cans or whatever else. Like looking at clouds and guessing shapes, but my cloud shapes are always the vague semblance of faces. Faces I'd probably never remember in detail anyway. :) The science of facial recognition, processing, and recall is complex and fascinating. That being said, there is an underlying terror in never knowing who you're looking at, or if you're looking at someone at all.

The guy helps commit a genocide against weird creatures that seem to just be spooky and doesn't even bother with a moment of self reflection after they fight back. Sheesh.

I really enjoyed this one. Great job with the narration and great job to the author. Everything about it was on point, but the character's experiences leading up to the events of the story were particularly relatable, because who among us hasn't experienced things like that as a child?
I get so excited when I get a lighthouse notification!!! I'm addicted and every night and some days I have your Playlist going. I'd really love some more voodoo shop stories. But they're all great so I'm never disappointed.
