- In this video we'll learn how to create a cartoon look using the Pic-to-Painting feature in PaintShop Pro. In some cases the Pic-to-Painting won't get us there by itself, so we'll cover some techniques to compliment it's foundation to get a refined result.

If you are using version 2021 or later, you can find the Pic2Painting feature here: makeshoppro.blogspot.com/2021/12/pic2painting-in-v2021-and-later.html
I do not see any "Instant effects at all under the "Adjust" tab. I got my PaintShop 2021 in a Humble Bundle as well. Any clues to where I can find Pic2Painting ??? I finally stumbled onto the effects you're using after about 2 hours of clicking stuff, but never did find the Pic2Paint.... Any ideas? Thanks!
@@rodshelley1170 You may have to click on View > Palettes to turn on the Instant Effects window.
I haven't used this tool yet, but now I'm excited, and can't wait to try it!
if your using psp 2022 its in pallets on the top bar. its called instant effects in pallets and there you will find retro pop HOPE THAT HELPED...i thought id point that out. casue i had a hell of a time trying to find it thanks again for the Tutorial... it was very helpful
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
Great post! Very informative.
Thank you so much for this. I just picked up Corel's Paint Shop Pro with in a Humble Bundle and (as silly as it sounds) this is one of the things I'm most excited about. I'm a painter, but the idea of playing with photos like this just seems fun.
Subbed and looking forward to learning from you. :)
Great to hear!
Great Tutorial...thank you!!!!
Another great video , was not a fan of Pict-to-painting but now I learn a lot of tricks . Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Great Tutorial. Thanks!
Great content yet again...hopefully, one day I will have the time to experiment with all the ideas and examples you put up here. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the feedback!
This looks really interesting and you are very informative and easy to understand, thank you for sharing
Glad it was helpful!

Very cool, I don't see this plug in listed in the Welcome screen or added plug ins under 'effects, will try going to Corel direct.
If you have a newer version of PaintShop Pro, it is part of the AI tools now (see other comments)
@@makeshoppro6408 i have the same question but don't see where it is actually answered, just "see other comments"
@@sburt7822 I added a blog entry that should clarify how to find the feature if you have a newer version of PSP: makeshoppro.blogspot.com/2021/12/pic2painting-in-v2021-and-later.html
Very good.
This is great 👍 Do you have any vids on doing this to Landscape Photos?
Not this particular technique, but i do something similar here: th-cam.com/video/h0mUDVcULSU/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgwmrKQAuMPlSecTHsV4AaABAg
I have PSP 2020 Ultimate. Scratch Remover does not work for me. I mark the area. When I release the mouse button, there are no changes. Given I have a single layer, I know I'm on the correct layer.
My only guess is that perhaps the Width parameter is not large enough. When you drag the tool, you should have 3 distinct regions with the area-to-erase residing in the middle. If that doesn't help, you may want to check the PSP forum or contact Corel.
@@makeshoppro6408 Thank you for your reply. I think the width was not wide enough. Now, it works. Love your videos. Very detailed and advanced compare to the official Corel videos. Please keep making these. I learn A LOT from you. In fact, I just paused your "Working with Hue" to make this reply. I use PSP 2020 Ultimate, so I have many of the tools you refer to in your videos.
Corel pro 2018 plugins where to find?????
great video
Great, very helpful, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Does anyone know if saving a workspace is supposed to save all the images that are open? Because when I do it , it only saves the image that's visible at the moment of saving, so exactly the same as saving as a *.pspimage...am I doing something wrong?
When you say saving a "workspace", i think of saving the arrangement of the windows and palettes in the PSP window.
@@makeshoppro6408 thanks for the reply 💙. Sorry total noob here.
so it's not supposed to save all the images open but the arrangement and palettes of the image that's open at that moment, right? I thought it'd save the whole session (all the images that are open with their respective palettes, etc)
Which plug in bundle is that? I don't have any of the plug ins
If you have version 2021 (or newer) see the comment below.
Thank for the video but I just purchase the Corel paint shop prop ultimate 2021 and I can not open the Pictopainting, what could happen?
This may be an issue I addressed in a comment below. If not, let me know.
thanks for the great tutorial. Liked and subscribed :).
I installed the plugin but it's acting weird when I'm trying to select a style, it only selects some of them , some other it just ignores my clicks on them..Also the styles at the bottom are overlapping the "send" button so I can't click on it... do you know what could be causing this? thanks!
What version of PSP? This sounds like a non-standard problem. Perhaps there was an issue with your install.
@@makeshoppro6408 2020 version (22.2.0.8)
@@HumanBeingWithFeelings same version as me. If a reinstall doesn't work, may need to contact corel support
@@makeshoppro6408 I figured out a way around it. In case anyone comes across the same issue. I press Tab and then Enter to select the "send" option. And to select the style I realised it only allows me to select the first two from the right so it's a matter of pressing the right arrow and leaving them in that position. It's not ideal but at least I got it working. I saw in the corel forum someone with the exact same issue but without a proper solution. Thanks for your responses. I gotta put some of your tutorials into practice. thanks!
@@HumanBeingWithFeelings thanks for mentioning your workaround
In your video plugin is free??
The Pic2Painting feature comes with the all the latest versions of PaintShop Pro (see pinned comment for more details)
Great video....but I have no pictopaint. And I have the 2022 version
Please see other comments below.
Just downloaded trial version of Paintshop Pro 2021 and there are no plugins loaded. Do I have to download/install plugins after paintshop is installed? If yes, from where?
If they are external plugins they will need to be installed separately. If you are looking for Pic-to-Painting, in version 2021, I believe it has been moved into the Instant Effects Palette. You can find a demonstration of this here: th-cam.com/video/Jy3fwI4duUQ/w-d-xo.html
This page covers installing third party plugins: learn.corel.com/blog/how-to-use-third-party-plugins-in-paintshop-pro/
esiste una versione in altre lingue ?? es. italiano ??
I haven't looked into the language features of youtube, but i'll try to see if there is something reasonable that can be done there. Thank you for the question.
Ho caricato i sottotitoli in italiano per questo video, come prova.
funziona?
@@makeshoppro6408 : è tutt'altra cosa....
Grazie.
Anche noi italiani d'età usiamo corel ma conosciamo solo cinquanta parole scritte in inglese .

Waste of time. I dont have any of those plug ins on this PS Pro 2020. What a tease.
I was under the impression that the Pic2Painting plugin came as part of the standard package. Perhaps your plugin(s) didn't get installed correctly? If you have a newer version, note that the capability is embedded as a tool (not a plugin), see the pinned comment.
@@makeshoppro6408 Yes....it was hard to figure out but it was a free extra down load but what a mistake. I was so glad I got it free even and it is terrible. I tried to change my picture and everything I tried made me look like a fish or an alien. Was not worth the trouble after all that.
