Excellent introduction to the tools and how to use them. No extraneous chatter, each stage is handled at a comfortable pace - wish I'd found this video first rather than becoming frustrated by an expert clicking stuff and dragging without explaining WHAT he's doing. LIked and subbed - I'll be back if there's anything else I need to know!
I would not have had any idea of how to set up Paint Shop Pro if I didn't watch your tutorial. Thank you, it is more involved than being simple to set up. It is interesting how they hide the free items and you have to go hunting for them. I have not used Paint Shop Pro before and it will open up an whole new way of editing for me.
Lol...I learned (well sorta) PSP 'Bass Ackwards' (really the mud on the wall method) and have been still confused, but can eventually eek out what I need at maybe 10+ times the amount of time invested. Love this guy as a teacher (at 67 I am already losing brain cells for learning) . I will have to see the vid on benzier curves in PSP as those still have me confounded but is clear to see that it the the key to vector drawing. This course wa very easy to uderstand..Well done (subscribed)
This is a good start. I am interested in how to vary the lines, so that, for example, they might be thicker in the middle and thin on the ends. I have used Adobe Illustrator on a Mac, but am now on windows and having to learn PSP. Thanks. Look forward to more.
As far as i know, you can't achieve variable line thickness (width) with vector graphics (or the pen tool). You're best bet is to use a standard brush, and a pressure sensitive pen.
Excellent tutorial and I learned a lot. One question, is there a way to combine the various vector pieces into one and still keep it in vector format? (Like Powerpoint, you can combine and uncombine). This will then allows the combined vector pieces to be expanded or reduced in size easily in one step. Is it possible on PSP?
You can use the Pick tool to select all the vector objects and manipulate the scale of the group. You can also use the "Group Objects" function to combine them (this will put them all on one vector layer)
Very good tutorial...good start for me, I’m trying to make my own cut files my scan n cut. I will try to recreate this tomorrow. To save the file as a SVG did you export it?
Thank you for creating beginner videos for vector graphics, as I am more interested in graphics than photo editing. Is paint shop pro more focused on photo editing and rasters than it is on vector graphics? I like Corel Draw as it is focused heavily on vector graphics, however the price is very steep. Your tutorial is easy to follow, your narration is steady, clear, and slow paced so very easy to follow. The only suggestion I have is to when you put the mouse pointer over Tool functions if you slow down a bit more point out what you did, if that makes sense. 😁
Thank you for the feedback. It's definitely a challenge to remember pacing the whole way through, but these comments are great reminders :) One option is to adjust the playback speed in youtube. Also, I would say PSP has basic vector graphic capabilities. If you are looking for something with more capability (and is free) consider Inkscape.
Thanks for having these up. I'm still going through your old tutorials and following along 😁
Thanks man, I could net get the hang of vector graphics. This video was a great help. Liked and subscribed!
Glad to hear it was helpful.

How do you unhind a vector object? I had it selected, unchecked visible and then unselected it. now I cant get it back.
Thanks that's very informative!

See here for variable line widths example: th-cam.com/video/b0LAVenVoxQ/w-d-xo.html

@@makeshoppro6408 thank you.
Thank you
Thanks. I learned alot

As far as I can tell, PSP does not provide a mechanism to export vector objects. To be specific it doesn't have an option to save or export to SVG.

@@makeshoppro6408 Thank you for the video play playback speed tip. 😁 I do have Inkscape so will be looking for some great tutorials.
@@makeshoppro6408 I meant to ask, Do you think Serif Draw products are robust with similar functions to Corel Drae?
@@gabbyg561 unfortunately I have not actually used either product, so I wouldn't be able to provide meaningful feedback there
