FYI: Apologies for the clunky video opening. The intro song I used was copyright claimed several days after publication, and I had the option of muting the first minute of the video or cutting out the copyright claimed portion. I opted to cut it out. My first few words of the video, "Hey Everyone, welcome to the Imperial..." were also lost. I hope to fix this in future videos. Perhaps I can whistle a tune or beat-box something that won't be copyright claimed. I hope you all enjoy the video despite the rough start. --Randall
Amazingly high quality battlereport. I found you beacause I was watching out for "which factions in asoiaf", as I want to start the game myself. I really look forward for a new battlereport soon
Thanks for the kind words! I hope you’ll check out the channel’s three-part “Faction Identity” series that covers each faction and aims to help new and experienced players to find factions that align with their interests and playstyle.
What a great report! I have never seen targs fail so many panic tests! I think you need new dice. Such high quality editing and graphics. I look forward to the next one!
Thanks Sean! It definitely seemed like a tale of two sets of panic dice for a while there. Thankfully Marselen passed most of his panic checks late in the game and healed up four or five wounds in a single round with Dauntless.
I am happy to see some Elephants in action. They are so rare in Battle Reports and in local matches. It's a win-win situation. I learn more about the different units of this game and you enjoy to play it 😊
@@imperialminis857 little common mistake, is not a big Deal but take it as reminder. At 28:07 you swift your unit full 2 inches on bog. In FAQ it's written that even a shift is affected of movement penalties.
@Cris_Shatty Thanks for the correction. We debated this point when we played, and neither of us was certain of the answer so we just decided to shift 2”. I cut out all that debating since I doubted anyone wanted to hear us discuss it for 30sec. I appreciate the correction though!
@Cris_Shatty Also, a follow-up note: when I record games, I use my cellphone to film so, when we encounter these rules questions, I’m completely unable to look up the rule on my phone without stopping the video and dismounting it from the tripod. And I usually don’t want to ask my opponent to research the answer themselves. I typically defer to the opponent unless it’s an egregious issue, just to keep the game moving.
@@imperialminis857 Oh, what a predicament. completely understandable and comprehensible. In the end it wasn't a big mistake, but good to know you noticed it. I just wanted to be helpful, also in the spirit of our ASOIAF community, in which we are all closely connected. PS: Maybe a small 8 inch pad tablet would be helpful to looking up on the rules. It doesn't even have to be a new model. Because i just remember that i have stored up a 10 year old Samsung tablet somewhere at my home. Maybe I'll use it again and save the battery on my smartphone 😅 when I play ASOIAF
Great battlereport! Maybe i'm wrong but did those outriders shifted full distance couple of times while in the bog? Bog reduces the shift distance as well
You’re correct. I shifted 2” instead of 1”. I couldn’t remember the rule and thought that the bog reduced shifts by 2” but George was gracious and said I could just move 2”. We spend a minute or so discussing it but I edited that out.
@@imperialminis857it’s only one but still sucks for archers sometimes lol. Also gj player forgot about domineering pride but passed test anyway. People forget a lot of times that solo count ranks as wounds only for missions
@claw_and_fang Yeah we completely forgot about Domineering Pride all game in addition to the IVC’s 2 pillage ability to hand out a panicked token. The Greyjoys failed very few panic tests anyway though so I don’t think the Domineering Pride oversight made any difference.
Greyjoys have always been quite popular, even before they became a powerful faction. The sculpts, lore, and playstyle has been appealing to a lot of players ever since release. They’re now in a very good position power-wise, so they can compete against any other faction. I really like Boltons. Similar to Greyjoys, the Boltons have come out in a bad spot, but they’ve been getting small buffs during each seasonal update. Hopefully after another patch or two they’ll be in a really good spot!
Thanks! My intros keep getting longer. I keep writing longer and longer expositions to explain the circumstances of the battle. But since they’re one of the most fun parts of the production process, I don’t see myself cutting them down too much or cutting them out entirely. I also used new introduction music this time that I really like.
We forgot about this ability all game. I mention it at one point during my closing comments. We also didn’t factor in the IVC’s Domineering Pride ability, but I don’t recall if that would have made any impact.
Brilliant bat rep again mate! And Moonstone is a quality game, always take Ribald and fish for a green 3 😂 In round 2, did your Freedmen roll a 1 for a charge? Sorry I can't see on the camera 😅
Thanks Tom! Ribald is one of my MVPs. Even when his cannon fails to turn opponents into red mist, he’s got a big plug of health and iron knuckles to throw in the face of opposing characters. The Freedmen didn’t roll a 1 (I think it was a 5 or 6), but they charged into a corpse pile, so they lost their rerolls.
@@imperialminis857 ah no worries! Thought it was a 1 so you couldn't play tactics cards but nevermind. I need a bigger TV 😂 Ribald is just the best mate, if he stuck in the middle I pop him with Shabaroon and make him catastrophe. Shabaroon is also an auto Inc for me. Just love zapping around 😂
@tomwhitworth6526 na I need a better camera! I’m using my 6-7 year old cellphone to film all my games. It’s showing its age. The Shabaroon box is one that I still don’t have but desperately want. All the local stores sold out of it but it costs an arm and a leg to order directly from the UK. Maybe I’ll scratch some funds together in the new year. My gaming funds are currently committed to the upcoming Brotherhood Without Banners faction. Shabaroon is always a riot in any games I’ve played against him. He’s a true agent of chaos. 😆

Which interaction are you referring to? The panicked token is expended after all morale/panic dice are originally rolled. If that didn’t happen in the game at some point, then my memory is failing me, but feel free to let me know the timestamp for that interaction and I’ll take a closer look.
@@imperialminis857 No i mean panic rolls in general. I thought you need to roll morale first, then let the token happen and after that roll the d3, because the morale and the d3 panic roll are described very seperate in the rules. But you probably know the rules a lot better then me so I'm probably wrong.
@meesert Ah, ok gotcha. Panicked tokens are used to reroll “any” panic dice, which includes the Morale dice (two D6 dice) and/or the Panic damage die (D3 die). So you could roll the Morale dice first to see if you pass or fail. Then, if you fail, you could roll the D3 to see how many wounds you suffer. But you generally see people roll all the dice together. Besides, it makes things just take longer in the event that the player passes the test but hasn’t rolled a D3. Then the player who can expend the panicked token just has to ask them to roll the D3 before deciding which dice to have them reroll. But bottom line, with the panicked token you can force the player to reroll “any” dice, so the D3 should be rolled as well before deciding which dice to have the player reroll. It sounds complicated when it’s all typed out, but it’s really not. Just roll all the dice for a panic test and let the other player decide which dice to make you reroll. 😛
Experimenting with weird and wonderful lists is a large part of the allure of this game for me. There are potentially so many cool workable lists out there if folks are willing to struggle a bit to find them.
