as a VC player. easiest way to remember about regeneration is. If its necromantic animation it's not flammable. If its a vampiric creature it's flammable.
love seeing melee infantry on the board, good to see your opponents bringing some chunky units. I hope they do get the help they need in future so we can see them even more, nothing is more fun then smashing two big blocks together and rolling lots of dice.
Amazing job on the army. I’d obviously love to see orcs and goblins but beastmen would also be great. You’ve been doing fascinating defensive work, smash MG would be a fun change of pace. :)
Have to ask. At about 23:10 you mentioned the vollyegun doing 28 hits vs a group of bloodletters with a herald. How did the herald die as the shots can't be divided into the characters as long as there are 5+ rank and file left in the unit?
@@LordMacragge31Reference please. The only time I know of wounds spillning over like this are when it comes to undead crumbling. When it comes to shooting, I don't think this is the case since you could then end up making a wound to a T5 character by hitting a T3 rank & file model. As far as I know, you only allocate wounds to a character if there are less than 5 models in a unit at the time the shot is made.

The unit takes X wounds, if the unit is destroyed the character was still part of the unit when it was targeted so it takes the excess wounds. Your way means characters could literally never be killed by ranged attacks if they were in a unit at the time. The 5 or more models means that your opponent can't target your characters with stuff like snipers, or at least they'd get a 2+ Look out sir.

Also, compare to close combat where you cannot kill a character with wounds caused to rank and file troops.

The faq that let flying undead units march came out not long before the tournament so I'd never actually marched my necrosphinx before and hadn't properly read the reserve move rule as it's interaction with marching had never been an issue playing an army that can't march. Yeah you are right. I thought he said the parent unit was 38 and the detachment was 22. It could only be 19 maximum. I don't know about his other units. Maybe he could save enough for an Engineer.

In the Core Rulebook, Pg. 282, it states... Creating a Detachment: To create a detachment, simply choose a unit with the ‘Detachment’ special rule and create a unit as follows: • A detachment can range in size from a minimum of five models to a maximum of half the number of models in the regimental unit it accompanies (rounding down). • The models in a detachment can purchase any optional upgrades listed as normal. • A detachment cannot include a command group or any command models. I didn't see where anyone mentioned this, and it's entirely possible I misunderstood/misheard something. If that's the case, I can remove this comment.

Secondly, it will be a much more enjoyable battle report to watch if the pictures actually correspond with the action which you describe. Another question: In the second game you deploy your canons next to eachoter, but in the next photo you seem to have separated them. How did you manage this when they cant pivot before they move? They are blocking eachother from pivoting.

If you were using the Free Company as actual legit detachments then your list was illegal. Your maximum detachment size was 19 and 12 for the Halberds and Spears respectively per the rules for detachments on pg.282 of the BBB: "A detachment can range in size from a minimum of five models to a maximum of half the number of models in the regimental unit it accompanies (rounding down)." Your characters don't count towards the size of the unit; so for the Halberds it's 38/2=19 and for the Spears it's 25/2=12.5 (rounded down to 12).

There were 2 Bretonnia players there, speaking as one of them. I just think that people who are dissatisfied with AoS have rebased or are re-using models so they don't want/need to get the BIG boxes, just the rule books

if the hits kill all the bloodletters then theyd spill onto the herald, the herald doesnt get a free damage immunity just by being in a unit

In the first game I don't think the steam tank should have got impact hits as it didn't charge a minimum of three inches.

Magical attacks doesn't transfer to missile weapons as per the FAQ

they are skirmishers so i think you can just move them sideways and then pivot afterwards
