Not yet, too soon at just three years of excellent play, but more than likely after a couple more years of playing at her unprecedented high level of play :)
Always nice to see Kristin and her skills and hear Jonathans humour (even though he is getting much better at discgolf). Best of luck to you two in 2024.
I still remember the first time I saw Kristin on one of the Latitude videos. She was shy and quiet and proceded to school Jonathan in a snow round. Now she's so comfortable and seems like a pro teacher as well. Can't wait to see her throw this year.
I can't speak enough on the confidence part the end. You can have the best form but like Krisitin said eariler, you should not think about missing or it will make your body return to bad habits. Take a skier skiing down a mountain with trees. They don't think "don't hit the tree, don't hit the tree" as they ski down. They think "hit the opening, hit the opening". Remove the fear of missing.
Following through was the biggest tip I ever got and the most impactful. Your puts will be way more accurate if you simply follow through and your hand is lined up with the basket after or around release. It was a game changer for me. Highly recommend doing that if you struggling with putting. You can always use your misses and where you followed through to help improve your game.
Nice to see Kristin noticed how Jonathan threw the disc to both go in, AND knock her disc out of the way. Game recognises game. Kristin has amazing mental strength on the course and it is demonstrated time and time again
3:32 I agree, you should not think about “what if I miss.” Visualize each putt as a made putt and now you jut have to go through the motion. Thank you Kristin. Edit: I spelled her name wrong 😅
I already putt with a Pure but i switched to the KT moonshine one and it's pretty sweet looking! Gonna need to get some more. I also recently straddle putted and realized it was going in a lot more so I might need to switch... I putt super nose-down though
Straddle putt is what I went with too. Ha yesterday in the course I hit a lot of good putts and I was saying Kristin can do it maybe I can too. I love her putting style.
Great tips! My personal opinion, practice all the putting styles. Whatever one feels the best, use it as your primary putting stance. Knowing how to putt off the knee, straddle putt and staggered stance putt will help your gm in certain situations!
Regarding the nose up tip, Gannon Burr and Calvin Heimburg putt nose down. And they putt with a ton of velocity. I wonder if that's a more advanced strategy or if it's worth trying to get used to. The disc tends to just dip into the basket that way, from what I've found. But it's harder to get right.
The confidence thing is so key. If I have doubts about making a put, I can pretty much guarantee it won't go in. It's like - don't think - just do it. :p
I kinda only clicked this because Tattar was in here - I adore that machine of a woman nothing but respect and love for one of the best women athletes of our sport
You are on the right step. Try different things. Find what your body wants to do easiest and consistently and then add all these tips into your routine. Practice will make you better. Like Kristin said she wasn’t always this good, it took her years.
Kristin has THE most uncomfortable putting stance FOR ME. I putt with a staggered stance, I can putt with a wider straddle stance, but that exact sort of a narrow straddle is my nightmare 😂
It is personal! Ihabeseen great putters with staggered stance, narrow straddle, wide straddle. Good spin putters, good lofty putters… So the style itself is somewhat meaningless. The repeatability and confidence and the main things! I lack both! 😂😂😂
Hey Jonathan, love your vids! They have helped me a lot! Keep'em comin'! Question, when practice putting, do you use the same one (name, weight, flight) or do you use various ones? Is it better to get use to one then move to others or just stick to one that feels good and run with it?? Inquiry minds want to know!! Help!!!!!!!!
While learning and developing your put, try a session of putting at nothing but focus on your body and how the disc releases. Find what feels good, then repeat repeat repeat. Then bring the target back.
Anyone else think it's unfair how cool Jonathan's job is? He get's to hangout with the coolest people and film them. I'm 41 and older then u. But sir, I want to be u when I grow up. Also, I DMed u a custome dye job I did to your pro ace Fuse. Did u see it? How do u like it? Or did not open it? I get that u can't respond to everyone. Hopefully I will get those 3 aces filmed and u will see it then. Till then keep killing it bro.
Putting nose up..... I haven't heard this advice much. I used to putt nose down like Ricky. Just tried nose up with good results, at least inside with no wind. Nose up and wind probably doesn't mix well.
I relate too much to the preacticing putting at home. Landing almost every put. Then going to the course and always bogey or double bogey due to repeated nasty puts! Going to practice more right now!
It's not nerves your feeling it's adrenaline, don't fight it and try to block it out instead learn how to use it. Trust your body's hand/eye coordination and don't try to steer the putt in, keep your eyes exactly on the chain link you picked no matter what and just let it fly. You'll amaze yourself, if you can make them in practice you can do it on the course but sounds like you're fighting yourself. Adrenaline not nerves, remember.
Jonathan understood the mission - no intros needed. Also... I did not expect the Moonshine Pure stamp to be improved, but that stamp is looking fine❤ when's the release?
Great tips, but I'm not sure if we've boiled down putting styles to find the most consistent and repeatable...and I don't think we ever will. I think there will always be plenty of ways to skin this cat, and I like that about our sport. So many of our top putting pros have completely different styles. Of the top 10 MPO putters in 2023, you've got Marwede with his low reaching pitch putt, to the nose up snappy spin putters like Lizotte and McMahon, and inbetween, like Proctor.
I disagree about putting nose up. I've trained myself to putt nose down and it keeps my misses closer to the basket, and it's WAAAYY more predictable and controllable in the wind.
Hi Jonathan and Kristin and Johannes. You are all amazing at what you do. Hope you arecall well and that I get to see you in Oregon this spring. I will try the tips given. Maybe its just me but the end of the video seems a bit abrupt, was there supposed to be more, something like a wrap up or summary of the tips. It feels like it may be a snippet of perhaps a longer video.
Hey. Glad you enjoyed the video. About the end. I´ve noticed when theres a too long of an end to a video TH-cam doesn´t like that. But this one might have been a bit too abrupt I agree. Have a great day! /Jonathan
Thanks for the response Jonathan hope you're having a fabulous day. By the way, I had a chance to play at Milo McCarver recently and my lovely wife happened to catch my upshot on one of the more scenic holes. It is one with a raised basket on a tree stump. I used my fuse and parked it at the base of stump. Not an ace or a throw in but one of the best shots I've ever made that was captured on video. Definitely thought of you and wished I had a way to share it. Take care. 🥏😎👍🌞
She has such a nice putt! everytime I see her putt, I think to myself "dang I can't keep my eyes off her putt. Her husband probably loves all the work she has put into having that putt."
I don't understand how she gets so much distance on her putts from the straddle stance....but DAMN she does... consistently draining long putts. And THAT'S why she number 1 in the world 🌎
Here´s Kristins very nice stuff! Have a great putt ❤🤘/Jonathan
