I originally saw this video not too long after it came out while I was just bored and surfing TH-cam. I’d never watched any disc golf before in my life. Now, I love to play disc golf whenever I can and I watch Jomez’s coverage of every tournament. Thank you Jomez for introducing me to such a great sport!
So special to get a peek inside the mind of a GOAT, someone who (for a time) consistently did something better than anyone else on the planet. Probably one of the best disc golf videos ever.
Coming back to this video to plant the seed of an idea. We all talk about how far disc golf has come in the last few years. What if someone sponsored an event where the best in the sport were invited to play the course as it was laid out here for Paul. It would either show that there are now 10+ players of the caliber of Paul at his best and/or it would cement him as the GOAT.
Outstanding video of the history-making 18-under round by Paul McBeth. Thanks to Jomez and Paul for taking the time to make this very special video. What a competitor and champion. And so great to hear Paul himself talking us through his round. AWESOME to watch.
Father-in-law, who takes vacation in Scotland to play ball golf, mentioned this accomplishment to me and was flabbergasted by it. He now knows a disc golfers name, other than mine (assuming he can remember mine). Thanks Paul :)
Cameron McHutchison, I appreciate your observant and constructive comment. I did use the word ‘ball’...who’s a good boy? Is it you? ::scratches Cameron behind the ears:: good boy!! Now...fetch!
I can say, I watched Paul's record breaking round right after it happened on Jomez... its as close to being there as most of us could get. Well done Paul, this one is history, no one can take this away from you.
WOW! I'm glad for you. I got to see him and others at the Pittsburgh Flying Open last year, it was worth the drive and I had hoped they would be back this year.
thanks! this was an amazing experience. I'd gander that these were close to the largest crowds ever in the United States. I'm from Michigan, and I've played this course a couple times (shot a -6, which is 1000 rated, and considered a quality round) so seeing Paul just eat it alive was VERY humbling. The atmosphere and the buzz from the crowd was amazing. Once we started to realize what he was doing, we thought we might actually be seeing the highest rated round ever, and when we saw reactions from the outside world calling it the greatest round ever, it really started to sink in what I just witnessed. Unrelated, I also watched the Memorial in person earlier this year. Also an unforgettable experience. EVERYONE was there playing, and Phoenix is just an amazingly breathtaking city. Fountain Hills isn't a masterpiece from a technical perspective like Toboggan is, but that course is just really special.
I started off watching this, thinking it's a parody. Watching 5 minutes later, a second tab open with the rules and wondering about professionals' salaries...Here I am 20 minutes into the video.
Bradley Akulov you should give the game a try. It’s free to play most everywhere, a good disc is only $10, and the more you play the more it becomes like golf.

Awesome to hear Paul’s thoughts on it. More stoked to have watched it in person. Thanks Jomez, Paul and Jerm for doing this. Great to watch it yet again!
One night I came home from work late, not feeling great, and watched a random recommended video of JomezPro. This Disc Golf stuff is SO relaxing to watch and now I'm addicted.
Paul makes it look so easy. I have been playing on and off for about 2 years and cannot get even half the distance he does effortlessly--not to even mention the accuracy. It is a fun sport though and I have nothing but respect for the guys and gals that can make those discs fly where they want them to.
Unreal. That was so pure. Every single shot he took was so calculated and on point. I have had maybe one round in my life that I didn’t throw something ob, on a really bad line, or just a flat out mulligan toss and that was for -1 or par even. -18?? What?? It also makes it so much more difficult with these distances and fairways, inclines, low ceilings, huge hooks, etc. Very impressive.
This round was ALMOST perfect in every way. Jomez production. Paul McBeth ripping it up. We just need Big Sexy on the mic. THAT would have been ultimate perfection. All in all, might be the significantly most important round ever for the sport. Thank you Jomez and thank you Paul!
I don't know how I got here but I'm glad I did. As a huge sports fan, this is interesting to watch as I never got into disc golf. I did go play with my sister once but didn't really care much as I was like 8 or something.
This is a really great round to watch and I think everyone who plays disc golf should watch this and admire the master at work! It's also fun to see the sport advance as many of these wholes are quite "easy" in today's pros' standards. For example there would be a lot more OB, the holes would be longer in distance and the fairways would have more accurate landing zones for birdie.
Man.. I watched the live coverage of this which is weird because I normally don’t. Just threw it on and was planning to only watch the front 9 but it became way too entertaining to stop watching.
