Short Biography
Angel Rising is a one man Death Metal project started in Marseille 2020. Its main influences come from the old school thrash/death scene (Sepultura, Metallica, Death) but it also gives pride of place to modern and progressive elements combined with a very technical and virtuoso approach.
Detailed Biography
Angel Rising is a one man band with guests founded in 2018. Before embracing its unique progressive death style, Angel Rising was known under the name of Listenangel and was running a successful guitar shredding youtube channel counting almost 2 million views. On April 18th 2018 Angel Rising’s self-titled first album was released, featuring the famous drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Suffocation…).Thanks to the very positive reception of the album, the french metal label Music-records offered a deal in july 2020 for the promotion and distribution of the album and released the CD edition october 30th the same year. The second album “Immortal Volition” (artwork by the amazing Paolo Girardi) was released February 12th 2022, still under the label Music-records. This darker album offers an even more technical and ambitious death-metal, while remaining faithful to the origins of the genre. The CD edition was released September 15th 2022 and once again the press reception has been unanimously positive, ranking even higher than the first. Following the album release, a graphic novel, Asai and the Neon King, was created and helped understanding the complex narrative structure of Immortal Volition. But Angel Rising did not stop there and kept on recording new songs. Less than a year later the third album was almost completed and the renowned international label WormHoleDeath signed the band for the release of their third effort, Afterlife, sept 22nd 2023 and CD edition in may 24th 2024 and once again the album’s reception exceeded expectations with lots of positive reviews and the highest stream count of Angel Rising so far!
With The Agony of the Brave, Angel Rising is going to deliver its most coherent and impressive work to date. And with Paolo Girardi bringing up his formidable talent once more to enhance this new musical piece, Angel Rising will definitely leave a lasting mark on the Death Metal scene!
