With how Scott and Tim shred it would be silly to try to outshine them technically, he brought the musicality that is unique only to Vai and played to that strength and it made the song so goddamn good.

@@nighght2789 You realize Vai can shred even better than them, right? Vai can come up with shit like this ON THE SPOT. He's from a different generation. Tim and Scott are insanely talented, but they aren't on the same level as Vai in terms of improv, nor theory/experience. It wouldn't be silly, but it just wasn't necessary.

Could be using (in studio, since ya know, nothing's plugged in for the video) a pedal to kill things, true enough (before I wired my killswitches, I'd use a tuner). But rather than "just as hard as turning a lightswitch on and off" was uncalled for.

Vai shows that after all these years he is still willing to push himself. Not easy to go into a room as "Steve Vai" with arguably the hottest guitar players on the planet and challenge yourself to do something new. He could easily just make a living playing For The Love of God to nostalgic oldschoolers but rather is willing to step out of his comfort zone. That is ego death. every time you see them in a new room or setting, you'll notice they keep progressively going up floors in the building. The higher up they go the more intense and difficult the song gets. Until they finally reach the top, which is where the master himself is waiting to receive them, seated on his throne. The whole video builds to them meeting Steve vai at the top of the guitar game, and being accepted by him as having reached that status. Honestly such an awesome visual analogy of musicians that hold each other in the highest of respects.

My Father introduced me into the world of music a couple decades ago starting with Steve Vai, along with other great bands and guitarists. He's been to Vai's concerts mutiple times. Then he took me to one of the Guinness World Record of simultaneous guitar playing in Wrocław, in Poland years back, when Tommy Emmanuel was touring. I cannot thank him enough for all those memories and more. Was he still with us today, he would have shed a tear while enjoying every single note and sound played in this track, just as I am in tears today still, since it got released. This piece truly is a gap-link between generations of music. I stand in awe. I honestly cannot wait what's next... Polyphia and Steve Vai outdid themselves on every possible level with this one, all presenting their unique styles of play. I only wish I was able to share that amazing experience with my Father... Thank you kindly for this how remarkable masterpiece of music.
    Best regards,
    Chris

The beauty of music my friend. I'm glad you had that connection with your father and I'm sure he's rocking out while watching over you. I had a similar feeling about my first guitar teacher who introduced me to Vai & Satriani 💙

Why can't Google filter out these obvious spams??? I wish my kid had the same appreciation for "real music". Nope...

@@smprather show it to them. Can't expect them to just wake up and appreciate. Show them WHY.

Did anyone else feel the power coming from Scott, Steve and Tim when they went back to back to back. That was freaking beautiful
