You people need to understand that nobody can please everybody. If she had given a different answer, other people would have still been mad at her. Just give her a break, and let her enjoy her crown!
New Jersey performed better during the telecast imo, particularly in the question and answer portion. But it was DC's background and overall impression that sealed the deal for her. She's gorgeous and is a strong contender for the Miss Universe crown. Wish her all the best.

Daniel, Miss Minnesota was my ultimate favorite from the very beginning... I was hoping that Meredith Gould would be crowned as Miss USA... because she'll place big on the upcoming Miss Universe 2017.... but alas.... my dream was crushed 😥 ..... I am with you I love Miss Minnesota !

Shivam Negi I think there is a side many missed... Miss NJ was too much of an I wish I had balls type chick. Throw a stone and you potentially got billions of those. Humble, self denying, drop dead gorgeous, natural... Those are all rare species, all in one and intelligent, now that's extinct. Well so I thought, time to get my affairs in order.

The latest format for the swimsuit and evening gown competition is just awful. I no longer see the grace, poise, atttiude of the ladies competiting during these rounds. Does the org now selects the winner based on interview and QandA? If that is the case, they should just remove swimsuit and evening gown COMPETITION in the show.

Not that it matters, below is my opinion of the answers.
Miss DC...
The first thought of her even before she answered was a woman not trying to be a man. She was humble, and unregratably cute. When she started speaking she was natural, she never put on that I have balls too type attitude. That means she is already aware she wants someone to partner with and knows the 50% she will bring to the table. Continuing as she was speaking, she had a been there done that attitude towards leadership. She knows she has achieved what a majority of men and women wish they could. She also was rather factual and though her emotions were eating her alive, she let out her original thoughts which were based on her experiences. No I am more manly than any man, just a plain old unfiltered opinion of what she thought. In the end the only thought in my head was "where the heck you been all my life?". She identified a secret that most 1% people male or female swear by, preparation meeting opportunity. She deserves all sucxess she will ever get, because she speaks from her heart, makes me think she would honestly speak her dissapointments freely and truly, the thought of dissapointing a woman like, hmmm, "I DON'T THINK SO... All woman, incredibly sexy, love at first, can I marry her now type woman.

The way she came off before she started talking, "gimme that microphone," not quite womanly. Not in the sense of I would die for type sense anyway, seemed like a chick who would rather have balls. Her answer sounded angry, not encouraging, too much confidence like she has it in the bag. Unless she plans on being single forever, she actually doesn't resemble a partner, neither would she be about encouragement. She seems like a gimme your balls type chick. I wear spikes and Hussein Bolt from those type chicks. Why, someone who doesn't know how to humble and inspire at the same time has no idea what a woman's strength really is. She thinks being like a man is the ultimate...
Conclusion, it's better to own who you are than pretend to be what you think is or wish was cool. DC owned em, where do women like that hide? Like really, those are the woman that are equal. They bring their half, not add another of a half that's already there...
