Mad Max was fucking awesome. I just went back and watched the first two Mad Max movies after seeing Fury Road for the 2nd time. Ha...So far it's my favorite movie of the year.
PixelBrainMush Don't be a stupid FUCK. Just because you didn't like the movie that doesn't mean that people who did like the movie are "insane" you ignorant fuck. You say the story wasn't good? Well, not in my opinion! In my opinion, the story was god damn amazing. However, due to your youtube profile I'd have to say that you probably wouldn't even know a good movie even if it hit you in the fucking face. It's obvious that you're probably under the age of 16(I'm betting that you're 14) otherwise you wouldn't be making retarded sprite videos that NOBODY will be watching through the use of movie maker, paint, and google images.
Bernado Garay Could you imagine their jam sessions? Guitar guy gettin' all pissed at one of the drummers for being out of time. I hope their band name is Guitar Guy and The Truck Drummers. or a prince symbol type thing with just a flame thrower guitar.
Saw every movie in the theatre starting with Mad Max in 1979. Can't beat the experience. Since then I have watched them repeatedly, and have seen The Road Warrior at least 500 times via VHS, DVD, etc.
Can just imagine Goose in the hospital - "Not that leg, put it on the other leg" - " but your left leg is broken" - "Bugger that I need my left leg to change gears".
Not only is "Road Warrior" the best of the series, I'd argue it's in the top ten best films of all time, albeit in a genre no one would expect anything great to come out of (even as awards are routinely festooned on rank garbage just because they're dramas). Casting, direction, acting, editing, dialogue, and score are all top-notch, and the sense of immersive verisimilitude I do not think is equalled by many other films. The first film is a good movie with a fantastic cast, but the lack of budget is easily apparent. "Thunderdome" was a crowd-pleasing money-grab: certainly enjoyable, but lacking the air-tight script of its predecessor. "Fury Road" is by far the weakest of the bunch, and shares evidence-of-the-decline-and-fall-of-the-industry similarities with "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in the Indiana Jones franchise: Tom Hardy can't act his way out of a paper bag, Charlize Theron is in it and the plot is as it is because scripts must cater to SJW narratives now to avoid critical-panning, the vehicles are cool but don't really make any sense (why are gas and bullets suddenly plentiful, but not anything else, and who's making all the tires? You need fucking *factories* for those steel-belted radials!), the sandstorm sequence should have been at the end of the movie as a capstone (pro tip to filmmakers: never have a jaw-dropping effect at the beginning if you're not going to top it later), and really the whole thing was just off right from the unnecessary and stupid introductory pissing scene. Aside from Immortan Joe's costume, the only thing in "Fury Road" that really clicked was the warboy culture, and a much better film should have been built around Nicholas Hoult's Nux character in a coming-of-age story instead of a retread re-casting a new Max (which immediately trashes verisimilitude). And of course then they killed Nux, so the best thing in the reboot has already been thrown out.
Something you don't want to hear just before you go under from the anesthesia. "Let's see, was it the right eye or the left eye that has to be removed? Nurse, get me the Ouija board."
@@truckertriesfarming9792 Oh, I've just heard stories from my Brother-inlaw who does X-rays. He finds notes from doctors saying the wrong or only ruff details.
There`s also the popular fan theory about the Max in Fury Road is not the original Mad Max Character, he is actually the grown up version of the Feral Kid from the second movie. Halfway through Fury Road, you see one of Immortan Joe`s wives playing the music toy which Max gave to the Feral Kid. The kid was fascinated by Max in the Road Warrior, so when he reached manhood, he dressed like him and assumed his identity...That`s how the theory goes anyway
That doesn't really work considering the fact that at the end of Road Warrior it's revealed that he grew up and became the leader of the great northern tribe and that he was telling the whole story on his deathbed as an old man?
Kyle Robles yh i thought that but then in Fury Road, he wasnt an old man, perhaps he went on the road when he was a youngster and returned to the tribe in later life?
Yeah I guess I could see that, but really I think a more plausible theory is that Fury Road and the other Mad Max Films are just stories being told by different people, so the continuity and details are always changing. Either that or George Miller just doesn't give a fuck about continuity.
Kyle Robles I just think its fucked up that Max pretty much spends his whole existence saving lives and helping oppressed people overcome psychotic tyrants, and yet he`s left to deal with his own demons, not one person wants to help get to the bottom of this man`s issues!
And me, what a steaming pile. I actually gave it a second chance figuring I'd been hasty in my judgement of it. Nope, it still sucked just as bad as the first time I'd seen it.
Not bad for a dude who has "Death" tattooed on his toes. His floozie, Lulu Pinkus, was married to Yahoo Serious for a while too. Think he would have survived in the Wasteland?
Yea I'm not some kind of videophile. But I watch about 10 movies a week (fan of torrents and looots of time) 99.9% of them are shyte... So I'll go for top5 or maybe even top3 just after 12 Angry Men and The Man from Earth ;).
Fury Road is one of the best movies ever? LOL *pun intended* Shawshank redemption, Casa Blanca, The Wizard of Oz, 2000 A Space Odyssey... those are some of the best movies ever, Fury Road is complete and utter garbage.
+Brian Cooper, I guess you are one of the few, who just don't 'get' these types of movies, designed for petrol heads and the like, to enjoy, over and over again. I have also watched some of the movies you mentioned as being great, and thought some of them were the most boring films I've seen. George miller is the master, at making films such as mad max. everyone has an opinion, I value yours, I hear there's a new barbie movie coming out, it may be to your liking...
Amazing Trilogy. . Fury Road was the extremely rare instance of the sequel being better than the last one. ..Fury Road IMHO was the best of all. ... Bonus: Leigh Wannel said that the inspiration for the first SAW movie came from the last scene in Mad Max 1 with the "no win situation" of having to saw off his foot at the ankle to avoid being blown up with the car leaking gasoline. Max: "if you're quick you can saw through your ankle in 5 minutes" ... LET THE GAME BEGIN!!
I grew up in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne at the time that Mad Max 1 was shot. Its kinda nostalgic for me to see the back roads of the Laverton or the old MMBW pumping station in the movie. Now living in the Midwest USA, seeing all of these sights is a trip down memory lane for me. Thanks for the memories! BTW, nice work with the Melbourne Bitter graphic rather than the stereotypical "Fosters". Just so ya know, it really isn't Australian for beer.
PixelBrainMush the majority of movies have an underlying morale, are you opposed to all movies like this? Or just ones in which you feel personally threatened? Don't reply, I'm not bothered arguing, just food for thought.
Adam Tep An underlying morale doesn't bother me. Being punched in the face with it repeatedly does. After an hour, I walked out saying "Okay, I get it, women are important. Like I didn't know that already. I miss Mad Max."
A friend of mine was one of the set directors on fury road. A surprising thing he told me about that film is they were filming that for over 10 years....
Mad Max: Fury Road is fucking incredible. This is from someone who hates action movies. The colourful cinematography, acting and incredible set pieces are breathtaking. It's nice to see some strong female characters for once also, As a huge fan of Mad Max I can wholeheartedly say this is the best one.
The first two Mad Max films were excellent. The Road Warrior became a HUGE hit and then Mad Max came to view after the fact. Still the coolest, raw action film ever.
When they were filming Mad Max around Lara area the crew would take the cars to 5ways, which is an icon general store/ milk bar in Lara. My father has photos of the cars there he took himself.
I love the road warrior, but I honestly think that fury road is the best mad max film. Of course the second one is way more important than the fourth on, because he pretty much defined the post apocalyptic genre, but hands down, the action scenes in fury road are unbelievably good!! Some of them might be some of the best ever put on film. But also the rest of fury road is a freaking masterpiece! Like I said, the road warrior is an incredibly important film, but in my opinion, Miller really did his best job on fury road.
+CAMPO I have to agree with Campo 1, 2 and 3 are awesome. Fury Road is an absolute wanna be Mad Max rip off that you could not even begin to follow storyline wise. You actually are better off researching it before you see it to get a better understanding of what you are trying to comprehend as being anything like the first 3!
One of the best lines ever in the entire Mad Max franchise is, "Remember: no matter where go, there you are." from "Beyond Thunderdome". There are two reasons why any Mad Max fan should love this quote. The first is more childish (admittedly), but still a cool. The first reason is that the character it is said to is always there through the entire film, no matter what. The second reason is more existential and relating the Max as a character. "Remember: no matter where you go, there you are." Are strong words for Max as a character because he's haunted with the what he lost. He lost his whole world. His wife. His child. Everything was taken from him, but he was there. Remember: no matter where you go, there you are.
Hee hee.that Mohawk guy got kicked out of a high school party in 'Weird Science' ; but he excused himself & apologised.a classy dude, through & through !
john m I watched a great video with tons of evidence suggesting the timeline goes Madmax The game Road warrior Fury road Thunderdome. And that the car was rebuilt using salvaged parts and the other vehicle he uses. And in the game the interceptor and jacket look very similar to the secind film but there is more civilization in the game and gas is much mkre available pointing to before road warrior.
I always thought about how strange the contrast was between the very first movie and the later ones. In Mad Max, towns, infrastructure, law enforcement, etc. seem to still exist intact. In later movies, like Beyond Thunderdome, I wondered why the pilot didn't just take the kids to one of those nice towns, or in Road Warrior he didn't just direct the survivors of the oil pump fort to his old town.
Wanna know something else? According to George Miller: The original film takes place in 1997, Road Warrior takes place in 1999, Beyond Thunderdome takes place in 2014 and Fury Road is retconed to take place in 2060.
@Eye Ball Paul Speaking of Max Rockatanski's age, he was born on January 3, 1974 (September 15, 2024 in Fury Road). · He was 23 in the original. · He was 26 in the sequel. · He was 40 in the threequel. · For some reason in the fourquel, his age has been retconed to 36, even though Fury Road takes place 46 years later after the events of Beyond Thunderdome.
@Eye Ball Paul Retconing ruins everything, its used as an excuse when writers can think of new ideas on certain elements in the story, it's even common in video games like Street Fighter. If you ask me: I think those two barbarically insane tyrants were long lost twin brothers named Toe & Joe. Immortan Joe seems like a demonized version of Max because they have similar lives (such as being fallen hero cops) while Toecutter is the type who creates monsters like Max & Joe. Before the events of the 1979 original, I think those estranged twins once tried to kill each other as Joe loses his mind wanting Toe's head for slaughtering their parents, and Toe's psychotic gang chased Joe off into another wasteland to run for his own life and Toe found a new brother named the "Nightrider" while Joe started his own cult later on to eventually seek bloodthirsty revenge on Toe and his gang.
Josef Hansriem He wasn't. There are many stories where the "Hero" is not the main focus, the character they are helping is. Miller has talked at length that he considers the films to be Legends of the Road Warrior. Basically tall tales that a story teller would tell around a campfire. Fury Road could be considered Furiosa's telling of what happened to her.
Josef Hansriem Is that a joke? Have you seen any of the Mad Max films? That's always the case, he's always just some guy tangled up in the events of everything happening.
Josef Hansriem He wasn't "tagging along". He took on most of the war boys himself and gave Furiosa a fighting chance. He took out the bullet farmer by himself.
Grandparents had a cattle farm and several blue heelers!! Great dogs with tons of energy!! The Road Warrior was an instant favorite of mine growing up once I saw his dog.
Another fun fact caused by a shoestring budget. Originally the movie was going to be filmed in and around Sydney, but budget didnt allow it. They had to go to the back country to find places that they could afford to film on. This change caused a significant shift in the overall tone of the movie away from something a little less grim and dying to what we know and love today. This is why the change from the first film to the second film costume wise is so dramatic as well. Miller took the praise and ran with it!
If you like car chases, Fury Road will not disappoint. The first half is one long car chase. The second half is the continuance of that car chase, and the vehicular creations are just insanely cool. Characters are what you'd expect, as well as the plot.
I was unreasonably happy to hear the dog was rescued from death row and got to be a movie star and live a full life :D

amen
My favourite
I agree
Mad Max 1 is best. Road Warrior is a worthy sequel. Thunderdome was garbage.
Amen to that

Maybe they didn't know

The opening of Road Warrior caused me to spend unreasonable money to get my Interceptor over 18 years ago. That's filmmaking

Mad Max was fucking awesome. I just went back and watched the first two Mad Max movies after seeing Fury Road for the 2nd time. Ha...So far it's my favorite movie of the year.
Disgusted Batman what aboot Thunderdome?

Ehh...
Disgusted Batman hahaha i gedit
Disgusted Batman Have you had a psyche evaluation lately? There wasn't even ONE good story in Fury Road.
PixelBrainMush
Don't be a stupid FUCK.
Fury road was fuking amazing

LOVE the new Mad Max, but there's just something about the original Mad Max that's extra special.

Saw every movie in the theatre starting with Mad Max in 1979. Can't beat the experience. Since then I have watched them repeatedly, and have seen The Road Warrior at least 500 times via VHS, DVD, etc.
They had to switch Goose's leg so he could shift gears on his motor bike.
Can just imagine Goose in the hospital - "Not that leg, put it on the other leg" - " but your left leg is broken" - "Bugger that I need my left leg to change gears".
they could have made him a hand shifter you know lol. Just like suicide-shifter custom Harleys

"Fury Road" was NOT as good as "Road Warrior"...THE best of the series!
amzn.to/3aa94e6
Remakes usually suck.
Fury Road was the SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEET!!!!!!!! :D
I love that Slabs of Melbourne Bitter are shown when explaining the slab economy!
I'm going to insert "slab" into my vernacular, in reference to packages of 24 containers of beer. See who picks up on it...
Vernon Wells, Wez is still my all time favorite movie villain, thanks to you!
Fury Road was great... Kinda miss Mel Gibson, though
Mad Max Prostrate trouble
Fury road is one of the best movies I have seen at the cinema's
Road Warrior was the best of the series.
Agreed. Even though, sadly, I wasn't in it.
No way... Mel Gibson the best ever Mad Max!
Nah. The first one.
a $20, a slab of beer, AND you get to be in one of the classic action movies of all time. Sounds like a good deal to me.
the dog was saved and was a hell of an actor he did his parts like a pro...

Yeah, but I guess you could say helping others gives him a little bit of solace from his problems. It's his only source of therapy.
"Oh what a day! What a lovely day!" - Everyone's thoughts after seeing Fury Road.
Except me
And me this movie really shouldn't have been a mad max film
@@bradbutcher3984 and me. Its the worst of the 4 movies. Charleze doesn't do it. It more like Crazy Chic instead of Mad Max

Fury Road was AWESOME! It need to spam a new Mad Max Trilogy!
100% agree!!!
I don't know if it needs a trilogy it's soo perfect as a standalone film, it would be sad if they ruined it with bad sequels
AioriadLeo I'll skip any future sequels if the same feminist crap ends up being the main story.
I miss Mad Max."
just saw the movie, im exhausted, so much craziness, full throttle though the whole thing, it was awesome though :)

Exaaaaactly... ❣
@@TheBeezusjones The game was pretty good too :)
mel gibson is boss..best mad max..thats obvious..since one of best actors. Mad max 2 ... best one
My father has photos of the cars there he took himself.
the best mad max was mad max 2
+Gen Me the first set the scene and tells a story ,got to be my best one ...classic 80 movies that were made on a budget....
+CAMPO Go live in Saudi Arabia if you hate women so much.
+Lord Humungus I'd say that's pretty subjective. Your opinion about his opinion doesn't matter.

This is the best reboot of any movie franchise .
+bondovwvw its a sequel xDD
+metalehead95 where is it fit in? the intercepter was wreaked
john m they said that there is no timeline,it is a sequel more in the way: the adventures of mad max.
john m After 3, it's a sequel
john m I watched a great video with tons of evidence suggesting the timeline goes
Madmax
The game
Road warrior
Fury road
Thunderdome.
And that the car was rebuilt using salvaged parts and the other vehicle he uses. And in the game the interceptor and jacket look very similar to the secind film but there is more civilization in the game and gas is much mkre available pointing to before road warrior.
Fury Road was a worthy addition to the mad max saga. Road Warrior is still the best.
"Someone get that dude some chapstick. Woof."
Fire your scriptwriter.
The first Mad Max is set just before a war that destroyed humanity, Max is one of the survivors of the apocalypse in the later films.
Wanna know something else?
According to George Miller:
The original film takes place in 1997, Road Warrior takes place in 1999, Beyond Thunderdome takes place in 2014 and Fury Road is retconed to take place in 2060.
@Eye Ball Paul
Speaking of Max Rockatanski's age, he was born on January 3, 1974 (September 15, 2024 in Fury Road).
· He was 23 in the original.
· He was 26 in the sequel.
· He was 40 in the threequel.
· For some reason in the fourquel, his age has been retconed to 36, even though Fury Road takes place 46 years later after the events of Beyond Thunderdome.
@Eye Ball Paul
Yup.
If George Miller wanted a 36 year old Max. Why not have Fury Road take place between 2 & 3?
@Eye Ball Paul
Retconing ruins everything, its used as an excuse when writers can think of new ideas on certain elements in the story, it's even common in video games like Street Fighter.
I felt like Max wasn't really the main character in Fury Road
Josef Hansriem He wasn't. There are many stories where the "Hero" is not the main focus, the character they are helping is. Miller has talked at length that he considers the films to be Legends of the Road Warrior. Basically tall tales that a story teller would tell around a campfire. Fury Road could be considered Furiosa's telling of what happened to her.
Josef Hansriem Is that a joke? Have you seen any of the Mad Max films? That's always the case, he's always just some guy tangled up in the events of everything happening.
but the story follows him doing stuff about the problem, no him tagging along
with someone else doing stuff
Josef Hansriem
He wasn't "tagging along". He took on most of the war boys himself and gave Furiosa a fighting chance. He took out the bullet farmer by himself.
the way of the plot unfolded didn't have the same charm as the older ones though
Cases of beer are the currency of Australia ;)

If you do the main quest it is OK, but if you want to do 100% it is way too repetitive...
Honestly, who thinks Beyond Thunderdome is the worst Mad Max? A raggedy bunch of kids saving the day? Come on..
That's how the 80s works though! It's always a rag tag group of meddling kids that saves the day.
anytime the costume department has to look for S & M clothing for a movie shoot you know it's going to be a good movie
Grandparents had a cattle farm and several blue heelers!! Great dogs with tons of energy!! The Road Warrior was an instant favorite of mine growing up once I saw his dog.
As pigkiller once asked, "what happened to two?" 🎯
Is 600,000 likes enough to do a second Mad Max video?
If your ever in Melbourne we at the Vigilanties are still going strong pop in on a friday for a beer.
You managed to find 5 facts that were not only well known, but pretty obvious to any viewer. Keep up the hard work!
I love the mad max movies so much, and Furiosa deserves her own movie that give's us a more in depth look at her back story!
Y u no things you didn't know about alien!?
Indy-freaking-deed.
Had to play the game after watchong the movie. My girlfriend gifted it to me. What a love story.
Thing you never can be unseen... ahahaha... great video !
If you like car chases, Fury Road will not disappoint. The first half is one long car chase. The second half is the continuance of that car chase, and the vehicular creations are just insanely cool. Characters are what you'd expect, as well as the plot.
