One of my fondest memories is of walking out my aunt and uncle's front door, hearing my Dad belly laughing and seeing my uncle turn around giving me a grin, sitting on the hood of his Scamp. Thanks for sharing this.
I had a scamp when I turned 16 in 1975. I’d take my date to Sonic drive in and dang if that choke wouldn’t stick on that 318 and I’d have to pop the hood and stick a screwdriver in the carburetor to get it started. She stuck with me, but she always said “how embarrassing”.
If you listen just after he leaves the line you can hear the motor change pitch as the nitrous hits. Great looking great running car, the owner is s friend of mine and I actually bought the 8” converter the I put in my Rocky. Ironically my car runs almost the identical times as his, but mine is all motor. It would go a bit quicker maybe low 10’s at 130 but I have to ease it out of the hole due to the short wheelbase and the MPH/top end etc is hampered by the Jeep-like aerodynamics. Love the converter tho, very consistent.
Beautiful car! I really like your choice of wheels & tires. Im mini-tubbing my 69 Dart right now and I'm planning on the same look you have. I'm narrowing the axle 3.5" on each side to allow for more backspacing and I hope to use 325 50 15 M/T drag radials. Can you tell me how much you've narrowed your axle, and all of your wheel and tire sizes? It would take some of the guess work out for me. Thanks! Vince
Don't think so.... at :53 sounds like nitrous purge. Also, at 1:13 leaves the line, but 1:15 really starts to move. Nitrous delay? Love the car but think it's not all motor. Should be able to run 10s with stroked small block, proper gearing with no adders, but cant tell about this one.
Stunning car. I love everything about it. But let’s be honest, the 10.85 came with the back tires on the lights, not the fronts. “Technically”, this was not a true 10 second run.
green manalishi I really LIKE your Valiant Scamp . I have a sky blue one in very good condition.with a new black vinyl top. It has a Slant Six, but I'll be swapping it for a V-8 in a few weeks. I'd like a 340, but they are hard to find, so I'm going to have to settle for a 318 or 360.
williamg2552 Nothing wrong with a 360! Same motor as a 340, with 20 more cubes to start with = more torque! 340's are expensive and nothing special...If your going racing skip the sb all together and go big block- when the need for speed gets real serious in the future, you'll see there are way more options and used parts floating around out there for them. Just my 2 cents, good luck!

np...glad you enjoyed it.
So he pooches it off the line, hits the brakes at the end, and still runs in the tens LOL... Definitely a sandbagger hahaha beautiful Mopar :-)
I love the color on that little monster, total beauty!
Love 340 my favorite God bless.

Love that shade of green......is it 1969 Mopar Brite Green Poly? That's the color I painted my '66 Charger many years ago....

I gotta say, cars were way cooler when I grew up in the 70's. And I own a 2004 STI,which is pretty cool.
