    Amazing! Two batches of pellets. Makes perfect sense, but something I had never considered. I will definitely try this. Also heavy bait to start, then light bait if things get difficult. Also I love the beginning, whereby you mention the positioning of the hook. A 3 inch hook length, is something else I will try, as I have always used 4 inches.

    I notice that just behind you there is a growth of Pampas grass 6 minute mark plus....apparently, in the 70's and 80's the household who had them in the front garden was into a bit of wifeswapping... I'm wondering, if you have to book that peg in advance. Asking for a friend.
    Great instruction. And the shock leader...that was interesting, I'd never of thought of that....although I always use them on rivers.
    Also the thinking that you must do....along with other guys who do these vids with other companies...you must come away with a headache...it's intense shit!

    As a non match angler, seems to me that success lies in the small details, get lots and lots of small details right and the success will happen. Just like everything else really. But it's identifying and adapting those small details where people like Jamie excel.

  • @alanoliver5378
    @alanoliver5378 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another quick one, if you wa t a fast break down try a small handful of crushed hemp mixed with the pellets, carp only, it tends to be so active it put bream and roach off, litteraly fizzes off the feeder.

    Your videos and explanations are great. As a beginner can you explain something.
    During your cast, you cast out then pull the rod back and forward again. What’s the reason for it?
    Thanks

  • @liamedwards_9624
    @liamedwards_9624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Really enjoyed watching this, great information. The only thing I'm worried about staying clipped up on venues is some of the fish are double figures and I'm worried about it cracked off as the fish can't pull line

    • @alanoliver5378
      @alanoliver5378 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya mate, if you fish to an island, in most cases the fish can't go away from you, you have every chance of taming a double if it happens a long, don't get me wrong it can all go tits up, but that's fishing mate, best wishes and tight lines.

    • @alanoliver5378
      @alanoliver5378 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      P. S, if you're too worried about clipping up, if its only a short cast simler to Jamie's, instead of clipping up, wrap an elastic band around the spool, so you go through the clip up routine, stop the line with the finger, but wrap an elastic band around the spool instead of clipping up, you can make this quite tight, by doubling the elastic, I use this on a venue I frequently fish open water with a method feeder 10 meters past the pole line on windy days, in stead of bomb and pellet.

    • @alanoliver5378
      @alanoliver5378 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pps, as Jamie said in the out set, if you're fishing for a bigger stamp of fish, beef things up rod wise, the fish pulls the tip round, rod round you grab it and hold on for dear life till it turns towards you 😂 proper sqeeky bum stuff 😉

    On a small competition carp lake what would make you decide to start with either a method feeder or straight lead n 12” hook length please ?

  • @newyoupersonaldevelopment3497
    @newyoupersonaldevelopment3497 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I ask, do you make the hole in the top feeder rubber cap larger so the knot of your leader can run through should you get snapped off. I wanted to do some pre made up feeder rigs (as the beads are fiddly to thread on the bank) but was concerned the loops to attach to the reel line would stop the feeder being considered free running. A reply to this would be greatlyappreachiated. 👍

    • @hishaamadam1460
      @hishaamadam1460 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    British club fishing approach has misshaped european fishing tackle market. There are many redundant methods that apply only for fishing in shallow and narrow canal shaped commercial fisheries. Most fishing is around the world still is wild, random and on the move.

    Can I ask a quick question, back in the mid 90s I was fishing Woodlands in carlton miniot Thirsk, UP NORTH, I was fishing traditional down the edge and upto the island, a bloke 2 pegs down using 2 rods caught fish all day I had to help him twice as he had fish on both rods, my day was OK fish wise but he's was fn cahotic he was fishing method feeder, first time I'd seen it to be honest, but here's the strange question, after the day he took me to he's car and showed me what he was using, in a nut shell it was left over Sunday dinner liquidised put in a plastic bag and left to go off, it smelt really sour, now I witnessed this with my own eyes, but to this day never tried it, usually cos there is no dinner left in my house 😂 has anyone else tried this or know of anyone trying it,?

    • @alanoliver5378
      @alanoliver5378 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @alanoliver5378
      @alanoliver5378 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pps having said that you could catch 200lb at Woodlands hemp over prawn on the hook back then, you struggle to get a bite on the same method now, so times change, just curious about the sour mash.
