    One of the best tutorials I've seen in decades, to me they're always better when the angler has to work through why they aren't catching instantly, it makes the thought process and progression through the changes a good deal more understandable I think.

    Definitely one of the better session videos. Good to see that it sometimes never goes to plan but it's the angler trying to work it out what the fish are doing and what you need to do to adapt to the changes. Great video Andy

    I've been fishing for 56 years but I learnt several things from your video.

    Its great to see a pro fishing rather than just catching and explaining the rig thats working and making it look simple, which for us amateurs is never the case. A great example given of a change that could be made when things aren't working with proof in the pudding at the end, keep up the great work.

Had a feeder rod for Christmas and not had much luck with it so far but today i lost count of the amount of fish I had in the net. Between the method and margin pole I've had a great day's fishing. Hi Andy, This is an excellent video with some great Method Feeder fishing tips and advice. I recently fished a day session at my local Narborough Fishery. I had a decent morning session catching F1s, Chubb and Bream… then the afternoon completely “dried up” plenty of nibbles on my Method Feeder loaded with 2mm Micro’s but the fish did not want to take my hook-bait !!! Then I remembered your tips and advice about “Colour”…. As soon as I changed my 8mm Pellet for an Orange hook-bait, then bang first cast I was into a lovely 8Ib Mirror Carp - I was chuffed and landing more fish. Best regards, Wayne 😀👍

    • @Sonubaits
      @Sonubaits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Richard,
      Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
      Regarding clipping up, a bit of both really... lots of practice helps with judging how much to put on the cast but keeping an eye on the bomb and stopping it before it lands on the island. The first cast or two always drop short to stay on the safe side, then it's easier to add a meter or two from there.

    Andy a bit left field but I know you’re generally helpful. I noticed you’re on the absolute 36 box. Are you tall. I’m 6’ 3” and just bought one of these and on first sitting on it it seems quite small against my matrix s36. (I’m only getting shot of the matrix because the clips are pants) I know I can buy stackers to make it higher but the footplate seems short too. Any thought other than send it back 😂

    Hi, Awesome video, and thank you for the wisdom. Why wouldn’t you start with a shorter hook length, knowing that is the problem?

    • @Sonubaits
      @Sonubaits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Trevor,
      Thanks for the feedback. 👌🏼
      Although on this day a shorter hooklength was clearly better, often a 4inch is perfect and there is none of those missed indications and fish getting away without being hooked. Starting at 4in gives somewhere to go and make a change whereas starting at 2in would mean starting at the limit which leaves less scope for change.

    Is there a specific reason why you take it back so aggressively? I always gently drag the feeder away from the swim at least 10 feet and then start reeling it in so i don't disturb feeding fish.

    • @andymcmillan9260
      @andymcmillan9260 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Empties out the feeder of anything left on it so you're leaving a bit of bait behind, and your feeder comes back clean.
      There's loads of underwater stuff about how fish are effected by things moving in your swim. Dragging slow can sometimes disturb them more. But in highly stocked commercials you haven't got to worry. They'll always be back 😊.

  • @robintaylor7374
    @robintaylor7374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video as ever. Well done Andy and the crew. Quick question, what did you mean when you said you had to start off on a bomb in a match, rather than the method?

    • @Sonubaits
      @Sonubaits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In match conditions you're often not allowed cast in with a feeder, so any distance checking and clipping up must be done with a bomb instead. (Just in case people try to sneak bait in we suppose?). so the ICS system is handy as you can quickly put a bomb on and off, swapping with the feeder.
