I live in the US where carp fishing to experts are extremely rare. I’ve learned so much from this 35 minute video and can't wait to get back out to the water to try out my newfound information / techniques! You have a wonderful way of breaking down potentially confusing subjects so that beginner carp fisherman (with limited resources) like me can understand. Thanks for the great videos.
I was out last weekend on Partridge on method n fished like it was a late summer, I barely made 3 or 4 silver fish per hour. I had to change and went on bomb and 1 4mm hard pellet banded. I kept offering 3 to 5 feed pellets n suddenly the game changed. My catch rate shot up massively and toward the end of the session n it being closing time my last 2 carp were between 6 n 8lb and between 15 n 20lb. That for me was a mind changer in that less is more so from now on my approach will be just that n leave the ground bait n sticky pellets at home until the seasons change for the better.
Great vid Jamie, have a chat with rich or some of you fox colleagues about the kd rig it’s great for the wafted style rig as the hook sits flat instead of the point digging into the floor or debris on the floor like on this vid. The other advantage is that the way it is tied the hook turns when being sucked in and drops the point loads, it’s difficult to explain but you will understand what I mean when you see it 👍🏻
Hi Jamie, good show as always , instead a trimmed down pop up use a small bit of rig putty to critically ballance your bread half an inch behind the hook on the line, I've not tried it myself ,but been a carp angler for 20 years, im sure with some experimentation it should work.
Would be great if you could do a video with a carp world legend such as Dave Lane or Terry Hearn where you compare notes on what works in each other’s world.
I use a free running lead with a twizelled loop under the lead to kick the hook length away. I also use a small 2” twizelled loop, tied with a single turn knot, which provides a small resistance to help set the hook but then runs free once the lead has bumped over the knot.
If you're using PVA and you want to introduce a small parcel of sweetcorn but are worried about the bag dissolving, add some salt to your corn. I think this will prevent the bag from breaking down too quickly.
When fishing baits on the deck have a shot 2inch from the hook helps drop into the carps mouth much as us carp anglers do with tungsten With the hook silicone for wafers silicone should be opposite the point to make the hook point heavy then with a straight bottom bait silicone right round so the hair and point make a straight line 👍🏻
great informative vid jamie ,when you said about tying a twizzeled line on your hook length ,guess this could only be done when making your own hook lengths and not on pre-tied ones .
When making small pva bags with corn add a good lug of salt onto the corn... it inhibits the action of water on the pva till it gets in the water proper and also acts as an attractor... carp love salt, but don't overdo it...
When I use popped up bread I use a inline weight with a float stop and a stotz shot on the line this gives me a adjustment for the depth of pop up and semi fix weight
When use the bread rig what boilies are you useing for buoyed are the boilies would it be better to use a white pop up plz let me know what boilies ur use for the balance
Hooks, I'd love to see a wide gape style hook with a slightly longer shank and in turned eye. In 10 - 14. This would help with anti ejection when the carp try and spit out your hook. Common hook in carp fishing.
Put the cut down pop up at the top of the hair so that the buoyancy of it doesn’t make it float up the hair and stop the bread for expanding and blowing up
Hi brilliant watch . I have carp fished for 20ty years and I honestly believe in match fishing the hook length needs to be short 6inch 100% hooks more fish.
Id check your fishery rules jay lad! A lot ban braided mainline but not braided hooklengths. Some allow coated braid hooklengths only. What ive been doing is using Horizon mainline for my bomb hooklengths, theres always some left after you do a 3000/4000 size reel up and its a bit stiffer than Power Micron. I also like to do this 'rigid rig' technique but with a maggot feeder, big hook with a worm head on, on old deep mill ponds for big perch.
Running leads provide much better hook ups than fixed leads. The reason for this is the carp pick up the bait turn and swim of the hook catches hold wich then starts moving the lead the carp shakes its head to dislodge the hook and the running lead starts sliding further away digging the hook in further and they cant ged rid of the hook and the fish swim off. Fixed lead hooks the fishes mouth and they shake and can use the weight of the lead can dislodge the hook also with running lead you get an indication as the lead slides away from the fish.

Excellent video, top tips. 👍
Really good informative video guys.

Great Video with some very useful and needed information. We do have to thank the Carp Boys. Cheers Janie
Yes we do
Thank you Jamie And Matrix brilliant

Good food for thought. Then again it prompts even more stuff to buy.
Really good video Jamie, thanks mate. Is it possible to get a short video showing how you make the maggot spider web?
They're just superglued onto a bead.
Is there a video of making up the hooklengths, plus what make flourocarbon and hooks do you use great video m8.
Fab video. Thank you. 🐳👏👏👏👏
You’re welcome 😊

And salt is a well established attractor in the carp world…
All the best for tomorrow @ Hallcroft 🤞🤞🤞
You are soooo on it.....
Great video, thanks

Enjoyed that cheers more close ups of tip pull arounds next time 😉
Lovely video Jamie! Some nice tips in there especially the half pop up for the bread! Thanks for the content!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
great informative vid jamie ,when you said about tying a twizzeled line on your hook length ,guess this could only be done when making your own hook lengths and not on pre-tied ones .
you can trim down a longer pre tied and at that stage incorporate the twizzled boom when you tie the new loop
Yes 👍
Some good info there jamie
Buy you a brew next time your at mescar 😂
Would you have the same or similar approach on natural venues?
When making small pva bags with corn add a good lug of salt onto the corn... it inhibits the action of water on the pva till it gets in the water proper and also acts as an attractor... carp love salt, but don't overdo it...
Keep away from table salt.
When I use popped up bread I use a inline weight with a float stop and a stotz shot on the line this gives me a adjustment for the depth of pop up and semi fix weight
Same here. Gives instant change option regarding hook length. Been using it for a while and have noticed more fish caught.
Nice idea! 😎

Great suggestion!
Jamie which pop up boilies do you use?
Mini ns1

Thanks for sharing!
Great video, how you hair rigging maggots, thanks 👍👍
Supergluing them onto a bead
You need a match sized Curve shank !
How do you attach your maggots are they on a band.
They're glued to a bead.
Great video, new to fishing how do you tie the twizzled hook length is there any videos only ones I can find are twizzled booms.TIA
Andy May has done a good video on twizzled booms. 👍🏽
@@bigndaftfishing cheers will have a look m8
Where you fishing. Marston fields?
Yes 👍
We're is this lake
