G’day Travis, Your video’s keep inspiring me to work my arse off so I can retire at the end of 2028 in Da Nang. I tell all my friends how good Vietnam is but they reckon I talk BS. I redirected everyone to your last video & now everyone wants to know more. Told everyone to subscribe to your channel both Kellie and I thoroughly enjoy them. Whilst in beautiful, gorgeous, loveable Da Nang can you show me Babylon Garden Hotel that is where we stayed & have so many great memories. I heard Da Nang has its own special donut can you please show that as well. Can’t wait to met you & shake your hand. Cheers Your number 1 Fan in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 Louis Kats 👍
Louis you are spot on mate, Travis vids are some of the best and he put me onto a visa agent who will help me do the same as you… once my house sells I’m heading over there in 4-6 weeks to Nha Trang & DaNang as I am wanting to try both cities out for a 3-6 month period and chose one to live in… I’ll prob start some vlogging once I get better at editing but mostly I’m looking forward to getting back to Vietnam as there people are so friendly, I originally lived in country victoria but now am up in airlie beach north QLD, so I’m used to the warmer weather, I’ll be catching up with Travis and it’ll be cool to all have a beer one day to thank him for his life changing content 🙏🏽 peace brother beers on me one day in DaNang
@louiskats5116 cheers Louis I really appreciate the support. The kind comments help motivate to keep cranking out videos. I'm really glad you enjoy the videos!
@@Nuggetsjourney44 awesome story buddy look forward to those beers. At least you don’t have to worry about salt water crocodiles in Vietnam Friday night in Melbourne & freezing cold Cheers Louis Kats 👍
Another cracking video Trav. From the cheapest places I've ever been to, Cambodia, Thailand, Mexico, Cambodia, Latvia, Estonia I think Vietnam has to take the cake for the most delicious and cheapest food with the most variety.
Good luck to you on growing your channel. Thanks for this video, this is the type of content i really enjoy. Your delivery is easy to listen to and understand. Keep up the great work man!
awesome video! i still can't believe it's all under $5, and you DON'T eat out every meal?? also appreciate that it's not just a street food type video, it really helps people who want to travel to vietnam to know what to expect in terms of actual restaurant prices
great video!!!! you make me want to leave the stressful life here in CA and more back to VN...even though i make good money but after pay house mortgage, car , insurance, gas and something here and there after all nothing much left.......
All the food looks delicious, so fresh and large portions. Crazy inexpensive, I am so jealous. I spent several years in Japan and the food was $pendy💸. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for the comment. Definitely can't beat the price here in VN. I love Japan as well but yes pricey. Although I was there recently and the USD to Yen is really good right, it was significantly cheaper than when I was there 5 years ago.
Wow, in Ontario the average lunch meal runs you $25 per person easy. $10 pp if you get the cheapest smallest fast food around. One good supper at a restaurant here would feed me for a week there.
Hey man thanks for the comment. So I mentioned in the video I usually cook at home. I'll buy at least a kg of meat each day (miced pork or pork belly or chicken breast) Its only about $4-5 for a kg. i'll eat mostly meat with a little rice, vegetables, and fruit throughout the day. Most vietnamese meals are very carb heavy, so I'll usually order an extra portion of meat whatever the dish is.
Duuuuude you eating The Real Vietnamese food, not like other youtubers going for the cheapest of the cheapest street food. I Love this. Yes my mother always made Chao for us when we were sick, with Pepper caramilized pork/thit kho tieu. Banh Hoi with crispy red pork was something we always had for special occasion, my brother loved it and always got it for his birthday. And ye, the Com Ga! many different, my mom always had tons of Ginger in it, but it was not fried. She cooked the chicken, then used that chicken broth to cook the rice with veggies + lots of ginger, then shred the chicken into it. WITH A SPICY GINGER nuoc mam =) I live in Norway.... This would be the price for what u just had, and very rare to get Banh Hoi with crispy pork: 60kr/137k Dong black coofee 200kr/460k Dong for Mi Quang, rare to find 300kr/690k Dong For Banh Hoi with crispy pork and Chao 179kr/413k Com Ga Drinks not free here haha, softdrinks or bottled water cost 40kr each haha. So total for 1 day eating here out 3 meals would be 859kr/1,97m Dong....... Thats like 15x more expensive
Excellent comment thanks so much for adding this. Yes the prices are way more for you in Norway but I'm surprised to hear you can even find those dishes there. The shredded chicken version is pretty common here I havn't tried it yet. Adding the ginger sound nice.
Bro goes from a white tourist to a little old Vietnamese man when he flicks to Vietnamese 😅 its hilarious, but you sound like a local! Great video. Kinda upset I paid $16aud for a bacon and egg roll after watching this.
yes absolutely. Everytime I order I get extra meet on the side. Sometimes I just order a half kg to take home and eat with rice. Its just over 1 USD per 100g. Pretty good deal
Actually quite common. There a lot of western style pubs. Mostly do english breakfast which is the same but adds some beans usually and another thing or two.
Some places are definitely worse than others. Da Nang is a beautiful city and the beach is very clean. Its a culture thing that will develop over time. As for food, I've never had a problem in 5 years

In Australia, with $5, I could barely get a Cheese burger from Macca.
All three of these places are 10 minutes from my Airbnb that I'm staying in Mar-May 2025. These make me VERY excited now to try all of these places!

Ya bro, especially in Central and South vietnam the food is even better than we had in Hanoi
I discovered that second spot recently, me and the mrs love it too! We went back twice since
Hey man appreciate the comment. I saw one of your videos about Japan, I like your style. Are you living in DN?
@@TravisTravelsVN Cheers! Yeah mate DN is my base. I was the one who messaged you on IG about the scooter the other week. Let's grab a beer some time.
Thanks for saying all the food names in Vietnamese!! Awesome vid again 👏
Thanks so much for watching. My vietnamese is not perfect but I've got food pretty much nailed down 😃
Yo Trav, good to see someone who is into their health and fitness giving a shout out to my country's cuisine. All positives!
Of course. Vietnamese is pretty healthy overall. I usually order extra meat if possible but mostly all good. Appreciate you watching!
@@TravisTravelsVN Keep it up man, I like how you can speak Vietnamese too...awesome bro.
Thank you for showing these realistic possibilities of how much it can cost of eating out ❤️ for a day.
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
So raw and real video for everyday life meal prices included. Good job
dude these prices are incredible... aint no way.
New sub! Loving the content. I'm moving to Da Nang soon and learning a lot from your vids!

Amazing video! Can't wait to go and try all this delicious grub!
great vid breh - it blows my mind that half these vloggers in vietnam don't bother to convert viet dong to usd when discussing pricing!
thanks for noticing man, I realized most of the audience is from outside VN and doesn't understand prices in VND obviously
Great content. 🎉
Cheers brother
Best videos on Vietnam! 🎖️ How do you reckon a vegan would do there? Plenty of options?
Yes very easy to find vegan options

Hello chào bạn ngày mới ✌️
cảm ơn bạn nhé!
Is it customary to tip?
Never for food, except maybe at a fancy restaurant with good service. You can tip on things like tour guides.
hey mate, from Australia, would they allow you to just order the pork belly on its own? only asked bcos im on the carnivore diet
yes absolutely. Everytime I order I get extra meet on the side. Sometimes I just order a half kg to take home and eat with rice. Its just over 1 USD per 100g. Pretty good deal
Super helpful videos
What about an American breakfast? Eggs and bacon/sausage with toast. Is that common?
No because this is Vietnam 😂
Actually quite common. There a lot of western style pubs. Mostly do english breakfast which is the same but adds some beans usually and another thing or two.
Yo dude. Before you went over there did you get a hepatitis vaccination or yellow fever vaccine? Or anything else? Thanks.
Nope no need. Its all good over here
Let's enjoy your magic time in Viet Nam, my dear friends 😊
Thank you very much
@@TravisTravelsVN You're welcome 😀

EVERY meal you eat will cost around $15 dollars in the US.
Not a single Bahn Mi was eaten 👍🏽
I eat plenty of banh mi but that would be cheating. Everyone already knows banh mi is only about a dollar
One sad thing about Vietnam is that the people throw garbage indiscriminately and the food vendors don’t care about food hygiene.
