Hi & thanks for coming on the journey! This is the first "real time" video for a couple of weeks as I popped over to the UK to attend Shynefest... I made a little video that you can see on the @Shynefest YT channel...please do check them out! Hope you enjoy!
Evening Howard, you harvesting veggies yet. I expect too have bramley's in about 2 weeks idf I can get a net on and keep the dam fox's from eating them, Tomorrows job for me. If you have done a roof before ok, if not then you start at the gutter and lay the tiles on top as I did see someone once start at the top and they were in tears before it dawned on them what they had done.
@@howardsportugal Don't screem for it too much or we'll get too much of it. I have spuds, carrot, beetroot, peas all in the deep freeze, French beans just started, broccoli hearting and sweetcorn setting as well as Rasp just finished, brambles, nectarines, plumbs, cherries done, and apples i the offing only thing I buy is bananas. as too cold in winter as tried in Scotland and went rotten in the middle from cold and damp.
It is just something that isn't looked on well - roads here tend to be repaired using cut stone cubes & I guess that they don't want random rubble being used...
Yes, I have never seen a more wiggly roof! Much is now off & we're working to preserve the old decorative beams...starting to realise this is a big project! Cheers, Steve.
Thanks Howard for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, good work 👍😁, the dak tiles are cemented in because they will fly away when there is a storm and you have to protect the walls against the rain or all the sand and clay will wash out maybe put plastic or tiles on top of the wall, just saying.
Hey, make sure that you can still buy tiles compatible with what you are pretending to reuse, many old companies have gone down and many models aren't available anymore, good luck
Should take them of in rows as well then you have something to walk on, yes I have done before , before you ask and I used The Knack first and nextdoor was a builder.
And so it begins, the grand designs project! Good luck with the conversion works, Howard! I shall watch with great interest
Thank you!! Should be some challenges...!

Why are you not allowed to use the rubble to fill the potholes on your own land?

Lovely sunny day to start a new project in. Yes, doing a roof is no simple task at all and especially when its on such an old building to boot.☺

Thank you - and that is a good point! Luckily, we have quite a few "spare" & are also planning to re-roof thd main house so can "borrow" from there...
Awesome project I was over in Central Portugal looking at property
I have been looking forward to this series on the tiny house barn restoration ❤
Thank you! Good luck with your search for property!

Good advice...the reason we started like this is it is ground level, but the rest of the apex is next - oh, and the wasp nest!!
