Tucumcari Wind - John Winn

In 1953 John hitched to Colorado and wrote Colorado Mountain Song. In 1954 he turned his head down to another southwestern sky and to a trip across Texas to New Mexico. There he felt the taste of freedom in the Tucumcari Wind.

This song just has that slow and easy feeling of the miles ticking by traveling the "Mother Road" Route 66 and heading West. Almost 70 years ago. Nice one John.

Of all my friends you are the one who best understands miles and miles of highway. Michigan in the summer to be with your mother and then to be with her in Texas.
