The 120Hz on the Tab S7 is a killer feature. Once you go 120Hz, you cannot go back. Tab S7 for me then. Nice review and comparison though. Subscribed.
I have 120 hz on my phone and tablet but I just downgraded it to 60 because it increases the time of battery, 60 fps is good if you're not so exigent

I just bought the FE on a Black Friday deal and it seems perfect for me -- I'm a freelance writer and author, and sometimes on-the-go. I like having different options to do my work. My laptop is great, but it's a heavier gaming one so not easy to carry around and travel with. I needed a tablet. This seems like it will give me great space for "written" notes (saving me a lot of room from physical notebooks), as well as my regular access to Google apps like Docs and Drive. Love the feature to stick in a 1 TB micro SD too. I personally saw no reason to spend more on the regular S7. I can see perhaps artists who save large files, or business people with many stored documents -- but if you're just using it for internet browsing, streaming video, note taking, and writing.. the FE is the one.
Thanks, I've missed out on the S7 which was only 30€ more and instead bought the tab S7 FE. I've been really disappointed until I've read your comment, because it's really reassuring as I will also only use it for writing, note taking and reading. (not an author, just a teachers student)

I have the tab s7 and it really puzzles me how they lowered the internal specs but raised the price from last year. I'll be keeping mine, I use it for work daily in dex. Don't need to use my laptop anymore, save for when I want to play a game on the couch at home.

For me, it doesn't seem like the S7 gets bright enough. I checked it out at BB, maybe because of the well lit lighting in store? Only at max brightness did it seem usable. Thoughts?

Samsung has become very smart in India, the tab s7 wifi version was around 55k and the LTE version was around 65 k, after they launched tab s7 fe 5g version which was priced at 50k, the tab s7 wifi version was not to be found anywhere, now they launched the tab s7 fe wifi version with only 4gb ram at 38k, which I bought coz I no option of the tab s7 fe with 6gb ram or tab s7 wifi. I do miss the Bluetooth features of the spen, but I guess I just have to settle with this.

I seriously can't decide between the s7fe and s7... I just bought the S7fe Wifi 64GB and to my surprise it is a beast even with 4GB of ram. I got it extremely cheap at 270 CAD after tax! But, I just found an S7 128GB for 660 after tax and bought it. Yesterday, I bought an S7 256GB for 730 CAD after tax but cancelled, and I regret it now. I really want the extra screen real estate to write notes but my mom really wants my S7fe so I made a compromise and bought the S7 128gb for myself so I can give her the S7fe. I can still cancel though! I'm on the fence about it, I'm scared it will arrive and I won't like the size of it and then it will depreciate after the S8 comes out.

I played with both and the Tab S7 is much snappier than the S7FE. Only reason why I choose the S7FE was because of Samsung's trade in deal which made the device $130 vs $400 I was paying for the Tab S7. If you're going to pay similar prices go with the Tab S7.

So if Tab s7 FE wifi comes with 778 G then does it mean that better gaming performance (better frame rates, etc.) and experience on the wifi one in comparison to the LTE one which has snapdragon 750 G.

The Galaxy Tab S7 is a FLAGSHIP tablet that will last for years, very powerful.
The Galaxy Tab S7 FE is a MID RANGE tablet.
Tab S7 is better in every way. I would sacrifice size just to go for the Tab S7, which is still big (11").

I got pro 2020 and it still run fast... No need to worry, processing power only noticable to if you do heavy editing works or gaming, by far, my iPad pro with A12z chipset runs game smoothly.

Its not easy for me, I like the S7 FE 5G but he drive on 750G and 60 Hz, i like also the S7 4G 120 hz , but he drive on 4G, i like also the S7 + but its exspensif . Is there a great diffrence between the 750 and the 865? And 60 Hz and 120 Hz. Thanks
Bought tab s7 plus for 63k with galaxy buds plus. A great deal..
Tab s7 fe is half the price of a Tab s7+ so it looks very interesting to many. But then you realize you get half the storage and ram. Also lower grade soc, inferior stylist, no finger print scanner, only 60hz refresh. It's a great upgrade from any Tab A but anybody using a s20 or newer phone will find buyer's remorse. Just too many everyday features stripped down. An example is I use the finger print scanner to log into my banking app for extra security.
After using my S20fe since last year I found too many faults in my Tab A 8.4. Upgraded to the Tab S8 when it came out. I mostly use the tablet when at home. The one thing that doesn't bother me is the tft screen. I use amoled on phones for years but Samsung makes great tft screens also. My Tab A 8.4 had a great tft screen.
Since the s7 was released earlier than the FE version, the updates for the s7 will end earlier as well right? Now, Is that a big factor on choosing between the 2?

Thank you for being early. Do you need software that runs on a laptop? It comes down to the type of functionality you need. If not, then a tablet is a great option.
Hey bud, am in medical school too, I feel a tab would be better coz we keep looking at a lot of PDFs and making digital notes.
I would recommend a laptop if you're going to make flashcards on apps like anki but if you write notes instead then get the tablet, give it a few months before you realise what studying technique works for you

@@TechGearTalk how much longer, though? Android now supports versions 9.0 and higher for 3 years (up from the original 2), and samsung for 11.0 and forward, 4 years. (again, up from the original 2.) however, after that timeframe, the Tab S7 will still be able to use, update, and get newer apps, and even get security updates through Google Play, well after that 4 year mark, unlike apple after a varying amount of time.

@@Waba305 Absolutely right thanks, LRoom works really well on tablets and has a lot of features. Great for basic photo editing... I discovered it shortly after posting. But even that, works better with fingers. And can't compare with the computer version. The pen is useful only for sketching and handwriting for which I prefer pen and paper...
@@apusista i use Ibis Paint X, and the pen accuracy seems better than in LRoom. could be the drivers that don't work with Lroom very well.
@@nightshadelenar Thanks so much for your reply. Not to say your software of choice is not good, I don't know it... but unlike Photoshop, Lightroom for Android is amazing! Especially selective edits, it even selects the sky now! After that it doesn't give you any skies to replace it with 😃 but that's something! It can also convert RAW files! But for that kind of work I prefer my computer and large monitor. Btw, I don't use a pen. I'm used to using a tablet with my fingers. I have no problem controlling any part of any App with one finger or thumb but typing with 2 thumbs is just not happening on the S7+. As a result, I cannot do email or social networking on it. Vertically, it gets top heavy and horizontally, it's a stretch. It is also devoid of features and Apps, for me. The iPad has music softwares, Photoshop, etc + I can type on that with 2 thumbs which makes for a fun, all round experience. Part of MY workflow, is to show my clients before and after post prod, which needs a 2 layer file. The only tab that can do that is an iPad with Photoshop. The M1 is blazing fast too. The screen is also more flattering to photos... more 'gloss', less reflectivity, so effectively better blacks. The only way I can justify buying an expensive tablet is to show my photos and get a shoot... sadly they dont look great (quality wise) on the S7+. I'm not saying it's a bad product, it's overpriced and doesn't cut it for me, that's all. 😊
@@apusista i see. The M1 isnt too much faster than the SoC in the Tab S7 on paper, though hopefully Samsung can get a good all-rounder line set like it has with the Note line, where it doesn't matter if its games or productivity.

In my country, the price of Tab S7 FE Wifi version (4G RAM/64GB ROM/Snapdragon 778) is around $520, 4G version (similar RAM and ROM, Snapdragon 750) is around $610, and Tab S7 (6GB RAM/128GB ROM) is about $820. I'm wondering which one suits me best and is worth buying. I mainly use tablet for online learning and teaching, using basic office software such as Word and PowerPoint, taking notes and watching movies, reading books... Because of my bad eyesight, I prefer the larger screen of Tab S7 FE, but concerned about its performance as well as storage. Tab S7+ is out of my pocket. Please give me advice. Thank you.

I bought an FE which is arriving tomorrow and I'm kinda worried that it's not enough for Zoom calls, document making or playing games.
@@Karla.Sanchez. I bought the FE version. I think it's pretty good, especially since the 12.4-inch screen is about the same as a small laptop, and the picture quality is pretty good. But don't expect it to be strong. If you want to use it to get into zoom lectures, I think it is far inferior to the computer. It's like a phone, so it lacks some of the features of the PC version of zoom. I've tried teaching with zoom on the S7 FE tablet, and it's okay but not very comfortable, especially when you're sharing screens or PDFs with students. The Samsung DeX is nice but not as good as a real computer, especially since the tablet doesn't have a lot of RAM so pages are reloaded quite often. All in all I think it satisfies the basic requirements, but is better for entertainment, or you can also use it to read, take notes, edit documents, etc. If you want a working device, use a computer. I currently use it a lot for reading textbooks, taking notes, watching movies, and listening to music, and it's pretty good. It's okay to be a participant when entering the zoom meeting room, but it's uncomfortable to be the host.

in my country the FE's Price is the starting for the S7, the S7's for the S7 Plus and yet I can't choose the other memory/storage as everything's in standard (128 for S7/FE, 256 for +) 😭😭😭😭 there isn't even LTE/5G options for the S7😡

The tablet specs are starting to seriously compete with the thinner and smaller notebook laptops. I don't have a laptop and the tablet I do have is very old and it was cheap when I bought it. I don't really need a full laptop, but I could definitely see a modern tablet being useful for me. I'm not even close to knowledgeable in the tablet space like I am in the pc building space. I know of snapdragon as a CPU but is 6 GB ram enough for a smooth experience on a tablet?
Edit: since I have 6 GB in my phone I'd expect to have at least 8 GB in a tablet since I have 32 GB in my PC. For me that'd make sense.
They are definitely competing - as long as you don’t need desktop apps (the file system is also less than great and a few other important factors - I should make a video).
@@TechGearTalk i would mainly use a tablet for media purposes so playing music, watching movies and that sort of thing and I just want a smooth experience i.e no menu lag and lag when switching between apps. Being able to multi-task should be easier than on my phone otherwise I'd just use my phone instead 😂
Then I have had no issues with 6GB of RAM. The iPad Air 4 has 4GB and it crushes all of those tasks (for example)

galaxy tab 7 line except for the fe edition is discontinued you cannot find them in stores

If you want a bigger screen when tab s7 fe. Tab S7 also has better aspect ratio for videos and movies.
iPad has a better processor and has some good apps.
Personally I have the tab S7 Plus and I love it for studying purposes.

Thats a good doubt 😂 you must be a pro gamer. Logically most fps games don't even allow split screen.(ex pubg, Cod)so it wont work. games like 2048 , Fruit Ninja will work. Any Fps, which needs landscape wont work.

Thats only 2 and lte/ wifi are available options for majority if not all devices. I assume this is wifi as there's no real difference between the 2 (besides wifi vs 4g obviously)

The 5G 64GB model FE is only 4GB Of RAM no? That was a huge determining factor for me, 4GB vs the 8GB you listed is quite a sizable difference

@@soumilsawant5833 use Affirm and get the 6/128 version of the Tab S7. it's a good, long lasting tablet on a charge. lasts about an entire school day in DeX mode, without a keyboard and mouse (as i wasn't footing another 200US just for the keyboard). when you get more funding, look at amazon for a Renewed keyboard cover from Samsung, or look around for other keyboard covers that will suit your needs. the iPad 8 is not for standard studies, and only is best in Digital Arts classes.

Is there real noticeable difference between FE TFT and S7 11 LTPS screen? I mean in overall picture quality: colours/brightness (apart of frequency)?
the tab s7 screen is slightly better, it has faster refresh rate and brighter... but tab s7 fe isn't bad.. it's still better than it's predecessor (tab s6 lite)
If you didn't notice at 0:33 then you won't notice it when using it. In my case, i know when a screen has higher color accuracy. But like i said: if you didn't notice already, then this isn't something that should affect your decision
@@theinktician I went to the shop to compare, and I've noticed that there is a huge difference, the colours looked more washed out in FE and there is a noticeable difference in viewing angles and brightness. Therefore it is 100% better to choose s7 /s7 plus or wait until s8 launch next year. At the same time I think that if you wouldn't use it for drawing / graphic design purposes this difference does not make any sense. Of course if you are okay with a slower processor. At the shop I've noticed some freezes/ minor lags even swiping the menu of FE without any load, the s7 11" experience was much more smoother. I believe FE doesn't cost its money, maybe for 400 $ it could be a reasonable choice but not for 550-650$. I think if there is a goal of saving some money, it's still better to look for S6 lite, otherwise original s7 is much better for the same price. (At least in my country it is the same for FE and s7 11"). But please be aware that original S7 (not a plus) has different screen defects that may appear within some time.
Do you think that it is a bad decision for me to switch from my Mcbook Air 2017 (13in) to the tab S7? I only watch videos, do research sometimes, and stock. What's your opinion?

Grant, you would be fine as is, becasue it works. if you need android app support, but still able to do office work, get a decent Chromebook with a touchscreen. the Tab S7 is a good option, too, if you can't find a good chromebook.

@@TechGearTalk but I have come to realize the importance of ram on tablets , i used to advocate for Samsung tablets but even apple is offering 8 - 16gb of ram, and you know how much more efficient their ram usage is, it is really hard to buy these over apple.
@@dustcake2576 the 256gb/8gb wifi model has the snapragon 778g which is almost as powerful as the sd865+ on the tab s7,
did you even watch the last few videos that he uploaded? the snapdragon 750g on the LTE/5g model is really weak, to the point where its not even as good as the snapdragon 845 in gpu performance.
also one ui runs horribly on lower end chips so yeah

First, One UI don't run horribly on low end devices and SD7 series is not considered low end by android standards. I buy alot of real low end devices and no one UI don't run horribly on them.
The ram thing that I was talking about is not about performance, it is about how some big app would simply keep crashing on a devices with less ram. And on a tablet, you do tend to run those big apps more often than on your phone.
Plus , slightly older SD8 séries is almost always gonna have a better GPU performance than anything that's not the 8 series .
@@lol-ivan7500 Yep, the SD778G performance is closer to the SD865+ than it is to the SD750G. Sure the 865+ is faster , but there's an even bigger gap between the 750G and the 778G
I don't think it's waste of money getting a PROPER Galaxy Tab S7+ over the Tab S7 FE. The later has a dangerously close price tag to the earlier model AND their is a wide difference of their technical spec. gap.
If you want to save money from getting new Galaxy Tab S7+, either go for a Galaxy Tab S6 lite, Tab S6 OR even a second hand (if you're lucky) Tab S7+.

The Tab S7 FE has one huge issue that would be easy to fix but Samsung just doesn't care: The white balance.The screen is terribly green. On cheap China phones you can manually adjust it, but not on this 450€ tablet because ... Samsung.

In some countries s7 has the same price as s7 FE. As an iPad Pro 12.9 user, I'd say that 12+ is too much for a tablet making it too heavy and bulky, and if you are looking for a tablet device it's better to stick with 10-11".
s7 fe wifi is $530 tho, and it has the snapdragon 778g which is much better than the snapdragon 750g
also the tab s7 is like $800 for the wifi/128gb ver.
