Hell yeah brah! I've been dealing with this condition for over 2 years now. Sh*t sucks! It's on my non-pushing foot. I'm able to skate mini ramp, do coping tricks etc. and ride around on transition as long as I basically don't pop or leave the ground. I'm trying some of these exercises, been doing them seriously for 2 months now. I've maybe seen a little bit of improvement, but honestly not much. Trying to stay optimistic and trust the process. Horns up for anyone out there dealing with this sh*t 🤘🖤
Sorry to hear brother! I don’t want to assume that you are not already, but really focus on improving your ankle dorsiflexion and releasing any Achilles/calf tightness. All while you are strengthening it. Keep grinding g!
Thanks, I actually started skateboarding at 40 with one tendon already damaged (lump) and now I feel pain in my second Achilles tendon. I also walk around 25k steps every day. So, funny days 😅 I'll try the exercises now. Cheers
Just got back into skating at 31 and after 1 week I've already been getting some achilles pain in my pushing leg. Thanks for this video! I lift weights about 3x a week but have definitely been neglecting training my calves and doing plyometrics.
This is such a great channel, but for me watching it, is like, closing the barn door after the horse has bolted. I'm the fool who got back on a board aged 61 and, because I wasn't falling off, stayed out every day for too long until... snap! Ruptured Achilles. Now on the long path toward recovery.
Damn!! Sorry to hear that brother! Hoping for a speedy recovery! Lol check out the Achilles video I made a while back, it might be a bit advanced for where you are in the recovery process but it may help towards the end! 👊
I’ve ruptured both of my Achilles tendons playing basketball and am taking up skating with lessons as a 31 yr old. I’ve gotta get these exercises up and rolling.
I’m 38 and just learning to skateboard (something I’ve always wanted to learn) and I’m experiencing a degree of this I believe. I’m hoping I can learn how to stretch and keep this tendon warmed up so I can really enjoy skateboarding 👍
have insertional flare up here and there, sucks, calf raise machine at gym helps but have to be careful progressing with deep stretch calf raise movement
Never in my wildest fantasy i thought i might rupture my tendon just because of pushing around on the board. had a 10 year long period off the board! On 7th day recovery since rupture atm. this sucks

Ruptured my Achilles at 30 ( 5 years ago) first day I started skating again. I am back on my board and like you I got those training on loop

Sorry to hear! Yes, make sure you stretch your calves/achillies but most importantly train them to be able to withstand the stress of skateboarding. 👊
an education! great video!
Great explanation, very interesting and helpful. 🙏🏼🌟🌹😊
Thank you rose 😁
Inspiring !!! I gotta work on my leg strength.
Never too late to start!
