One of the Best videos ive seen for achilles pain, everything well explained and the part of the mental health is something nobody talks about
Ty very much bro!!!
thanks homie appreciate it 👊🏼
Thanks, I'm got Achilles Tendonitis about 14 months ago and I'm still recovering from it. I'll add some more exercises that you suggest and hope it will go away. The biggest mistake that I'm often making is that I get back to skateboarding and enjoy my sessions so much that I never give it enough time to fully recover, it often gets even worse than it was before.
Same. I’m on my 15th month. Sucks.
yeah quite common mate. Which is why I took the time to explain volume of work. Its so important when returning to skating to keep the sessions short and allow yourself time to adapt back
also a big mistake most make is not doing plyometrics before returning so the achilles simply isnt ready to be popping the board
HUGE THANK YOU
no worries
Good stuff
Superb 👌
I needed this, I broke my ankle last May with a high and low ankle sprain. I still have problems fully distributing weight on both feet. Ive been skating on it since the Dr gave the okay But i feel like it was way too soon because its been a stage of frustration being able to do certain tricks but not like how i used to plus no progression at all.
did you do a rehab program for it or just go back to skating?
@@skateboardstrength9834 Just went back , I def delayed the healing and turned a 4 month injury into almost a year
Any tips for heavy skaters? I’ve always carried more muscle mass and fat. I’m losing weight and getting leaner but skating (and running) puts a huge strain on my achilles
Thanks, appreciate this content! Keep up the grind man and this will eventually pop off. Skating getting up in age now and this is skaters need!
So, I barely couldnt walk last May and Ive recovered ever since. Been doing daily down to bidaily heavier rehab exercises and Im at a pretty good place now. The problem for me is that I go ham when I get back on the board, always these 2-3h sessions. With your advice in mind, I'll try to keep it at a max 60 min and use the "pain chart" after that.
haha yeah its a classic mistake most of us make mate. Once we are back to skating we forget the body still needs time to adapt. Adjust it back and you will hopefully make the come back you seek.
also be mindful that once you go back to skating you also need to adjust the volume of your rehab program. It needs to be scaled back to adjust for the extra volume in skating coming in
@@skateboardstrength9834 All right man, will do. Thanks again!

Can you make a video about individual exercises after anterior cruciate ligament rupture surgery? Because I just had surgery and I feel very sad and worried about whether I will be able to skateboard again in the future.(Thank you for reading this comment❤)
I ruptured my Achilles wanting to go back skateboarding after 10year break😢 I just went straight to the park with no stretching whatsoever, heelflip, kickfips and it popped while i was balancing my self . This week I buy a new board and I will get back gradually
Just want to add, I didn't have any warning sign before my Achilles popped.
@@matta6817Sorry to hear that. How is it nowadays? I ruptured my Achilles tendon yesterday after 1 hour just pushing around and cruising after 12yr off skateboarding. It’s just snapped. No warning pain whatsoever. On a push it ruptured. I’m 42 so that could also be it. Now I’m plastered and a long recovery ahead doctor said. Sigh
Would like to u make program for downhill longboarder 🥹 ?
