I turned on my TH-cam eating breakfast and there was your new video. I’m numero uno, review! Fabulous video, really. They keep getting better. Loved the landscape of the segment of the ride. Thank you.
Thanks so much Bret! Riding into Salida next, and then from Salida to Breckenridge. I am curious myself what I recorded on the way to Breckenridge. We climbed the Gold Dust trail, tough one…
Thanks Jim for the support! Yea, got lucky it did not turn out so bad. Was an unfortunate combination of events. Sleeping in the tent that night was painful. Always incredible though to see how quickly the human body can recover 😀💪
Hi Mark, the rear break was not broke, but the cable only had a cut in front where it enters the frame. The rear derailleur was a bit bend, I could fix that myself on the spot. Other than that bike was fine. You will see the bike in the next video again. I had quite some big road rashes after the crash 💥 You don’t want to see the pics 😜 Other than that only some holes in the shirt. Got the break repaired again in Salida and then again in Steamboat (which is when we really figured what the problem was, the abrasion of the cable)…
@@robertpatterson493 Hi Robert, with the big cassette range in the back this was the perfect combination for us. If it gets crazy steep you will most likely get off the bike and walk; Just asked Marion, she remembers getting of the bike pushing it up 7 times only ;) In the beginning we were riding with two mountain bikers, they were pedaling a lot. And sitting up much more straight on the mountain bike all the time was also not our preference. Aero bar gives you many options to change positions, highly recommended.
Haha…not Lael Wilcox, but we met another great Lael on the Divide who we rode with every now and then all the way to the boarder. She will be in the next video again as we ride up to Rawlins together😜

Thanks, Bret! It is such a wonderful part of Colorado!

Do you have any video of the damage to the bike or the broken rear brake? Would like to see the consequences of the crash.

Great episode - best music yet. Curious what you guys are running for your chainring and cassette? Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks Robert 🙏. Chainring is SRAM 40T, Casette SRAM CS-1275, 10-50T
@@MarionandFred looking forward to the next one. Seems like a big ring - was that smallest for the bike? Did it work okay? We are planning :)

Thank you Romy! You are the best 😘
Did you meet Lael Wilcox when you crashed? That would be crazy (but normal for her)!
