- Want to start a 3D print farm? In this video I show you why I decided to start my 3d print farm with Bambu Labs P1s and P1P machines. I compare these machines to other popular choices like Ender 3 or Prusa.

just started growing my print farm from a single Voron Trident 350 to 6 additional Bambu P1S'(thanks to the long Bambu BFCM sale). I love the Bambu's for their multi color capabilities as well as the endless spool feature. It makes it easy to use up rolls of the same filament in bigger prints. I chuckle when people talk about how fast the Bambu's are. If I need a part printed in the fastest time in just one color my Trident will do it in 30 to 50% less time. But if I need 2 or more of the same parts or in multi color, the army of P1S's win every time. Plus adding more P1S's is as easy as opening the box and loading up filament. Building a Voron from a kit takes a little longer than that 😁
ya thing with the bambus is they just work out of the box, nothing more to do with it, with vorons and other machines, u need to do alot more out of the box, hoping the k2 replaces the p1s combo for me, the bigger build area makes up for being double the price vs the p1s when doing multi color for me. Also hoping to be able to do the tool changer on the vorons and see how much better that be
It sounds like you have a great setup for your print farm and I love your reasoning for your printer choice! I will have to check out what the Trident is all about
@@songhan1586 I suspect that most people gushing over the speed are in the A!/A1 Mini budget range, and many probably have crusty, old printers in the 50-100mm/s range that they're looking for a cheap upgrade from. At least that's what it looks like when watching videos from new owners.
It's hard to find faster printers which aren't also much larger where I live. I'd only consider 1000mm/s and up a significant difference from my Bambu, but the local suppliers start at very large sizes for anything REALLY fast. Importing from abroad is out of the question, because we have decent warranties by law around these parts :)
I have almost 800 hrs on my 1st P1S, an absolute game changer. Its like I only have to focus on what I want to print, not how I want to print. I had the ender 3v2 Neo as my first, but now Its my 5w laser engraver for small things instead, lol. I've just started out my business at one of my daughters kids market and have been printing ever since. It's been super fun for organizing our electrical truck as well as always able to give gifts for birthdays and such when I can't run 45 minutes away. Starting a business has a lot to it when starting out, especially when it's a side hustle. Thanks again for your videos, nice to see how down to earth and upfront you are in them.
It sounds like you've been having a great time with your printer, thanks for sharing! Coming from the Enders, where there was so much messing around with bed leveling and getting prints to stick...The Bambu's have been a joy to work with...They just print perfectly every time! Thanks for the comment!
I like the AMS for using the rest of a filament and start a new roll of the same color. Im waiting for my second Printer today hopefully. Appreciate the video.
The AMS is definitely a game changer, I can see why you would want to get another printer to go with it! And yes...the AMS is really easy for using up filament and adding a new roll quickly!
@@chaddiy3512 I'm kinda lazy, so I've considered getting an A1 Mini with the AMS Lite, and use the AMS with my existing A1. Then I could keep the Mini permanently running with the .2mm nozzle and do all the bigger stuff on the A1 with all the benefits of the AMS :)
Running out isn't a big deal though, but running out while I'm in another room means the nozzle cools off, and I'm looking at a longer time to restart. It just feels bad. Capitalist country problems, eh?
I went with three bambu A1s for my mini farm. I don't need the enclosures of the P series so the A1s are a perfect fit for me. I did plan on going with prusa before I discovered bambu. Prusa printers are amazing, but they're simply a bad value for what you get these days.
I'd never start a farm with enders. They just don't have the reliability necessary for a farm without a lot of maintenance.
Thanks for posting, subscribed to follow along. 🍻
Thanks for the comment! I was thinking about getting a Prusa at one point, but after some research, I felt the Bambu was the better value and option for my needs. I would have gone with A1s as well if I didn't need the enclosure for heat.
I got my first Bambu this summer (at least I'm optimistic about getting more eventually), and that was a result of trying to make heads and tails of all the Creality models. Ender 3 has probably a dozen variants (and I had one of them, but don't ask me which one!), then there was the new K2 Max which was a top candidate - until I read about issues with a warping print bed. I never got confirmation things were fine now, so A1 it was. I've never had an easier time printing.
Chad, did you consider one if the newer Ender modules? I've got an original Ender 3 and a Prusa, ended up getting an Ender 4 V3 KE and never looked back. Thing has not failed me for maybe a year and had it in hand for about $250. Light years difference in speed and quality compared to the Ender 3. Love your videos, best of luck to you!
Hello, I never really looked into the newer enders. My ender 3s were great to learn on and start my business, but I wanted to get machines that hopefully will last a long time. Most people with print farms use Bambu or Prusa...so those were the main machines I looked at. I'm glad the Ender 4 is working well for you, and it sounds like it is a great value!
Chad, check out the Panda Touch as a reasonably priced ($50-$60) color upgrade to the panel on the P1S.
Thanks for the tip...I will check it out!
@@chaddiy3512 It seems to be a great addition for anyone with more than one Bambu printer. Pro-tip: You can keep it anywhere, as it connects wirelessly. It doesn't have to be stuck to a printer :)
i went for another x1c as I bought the first x1 before the p1s was anounced, and wanted matching printers for file sharing etc. I probably should have got a p1s as a second.. haven't unboxed the second yet and i'm debating returning it
I wondering if someone else could chime in and let us know if you can use the same sliced files for the x1c and the P1P?
@@chaddiy3512 One of them has LiDAR, right? This produces special gcode, so it wouldn't be compatible. Reddit posts are saying you could manually eliminate that code, and it should work as the printers are otherwise very similar. But I'd say it's less hassle to just re-slice per printer.
@@chaddiy3512 well I ran some p1s code from makerworld on my x1c the other day and it went fine, not sure if it works running x1c code on p1s because of the extra peripherals. I ended up keeping the second x1c tbh
I picked up a bambu last black friday. print quality is good everything else is shit. all instructions for how to connect your printer to your network requires you to give access to your phone to them. if your a sheep and do not care about your privacy at all this will not be a issue for you. its like this no offence meant: If you are the type of person that does not tune anything in. always use things for what they are meant to be used for this will be a good printer for you. But if you care about privacy or do anything that requires a NDA. or thinks if they own a device they should be able to control that device then you are going to be fighting with this printer. your disk1 data is being sent to a amazon server. This printer has already shown that it can take commands from outside of network. (remember when everyone with a bambu woke up the next day to find what ever they was printing was kicked off the bed and a new print started they didnt start?) then they claimed it was a glitch? that was called a test... Now you can even find videos of them talking about if they detect a part for a gun.
connecting the printer to the internet is absolutely not a requirement. you set it up once with your account and thats it. you can run it using the good old sd card method
@@okay_bro88 you setup 1 time requires access to your phone. access to that once gives meta data. printer does not give the access codes or a pin code until you use phone. i can log in and even SSH my SV08 and even my Qidi Max3 with out giving away meta data. When you go in "account" you can pick your country and that is it.
