      Let's hope he keeps going. I heard ATM fees are crazy. So, newbies have to carry thousands in cash.

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @atoc.8pawns ATM fees can be high. Luckily things here are cheap so you carry thousands of baht, which isn't a lot. There's a link in the description for Wise. It's an easy way to transfer money internationally and they have a debit card you can use here. There are also a number of bank/brokerage accounts that will reimburse your ATM fees. Check into those in your home country. It may be worth it to open an account at one of them for your travel expenses.

    Yet to visit Hua Hin after (in fits and starts) 17+ years of visiting Thailand. I think the next visit will include at least 2 weeks there.
    I must add that I hear that accomodation is good value tgere, however I wasn't entirely enthralled with your apartment @ $25 a night. Or unless there was a pool on site as well?
    Looking forward to your next upload.

    • @RetiringToAsia

      There is a small pool there but I didn't show it. I'm planning a longer video about the building to include their monthly & yearly rates

    Hey good video - Ive done the bus, mini van and car/taxi. Bus is pretty good. I think last departure time is like 6.00pm so it doesn't always work out with my 4.30 arrival flight from Sydney. Means I need to get a taxi or stay in BKK overnight and then head down in the morning. Good tip on the B1000 - that's where everyone changes their larger notes. I always go to Ban Khun Por with friends cheap and good food, also cheap beer (usually Chang) delivered to your table.

    The bus is probably easier, but you can also get a train on the new train route, just get the airport train link and transfer to the brand new train station Bang Sue in Bangkok, very cheap as well

    Thanks for the guidance on the website, I thought I was looking at the wrong one when doing research last week for upcoming trip.
    The price to get this bus is very reasonable as you say which opens up my travel options greatly.
    Great resource at the website:
    From Suvarnabhumi airport to Hua Hin 325
    Pattaya to Hua Hin 473
    Beats the taxi price - (even though that is door to door) - I have loads of time now so no biggie!

      The bus to Pattaya is only about B146 or 190 to Jomtien. They're a bit of a hoodwink to Pattaya, as they drop off at the beginning of Pattaya Klang, which involves a motorcycle taxi to central Pattaya (B50-80ish) So go to Jomtien and get back to Pattaya via two baht buses maximum. I've tried waiting for baht buses after the initial drop off point, but I think they don't exist or have a long turnaround time.
