I don’t buy a ton of things here at the secondhand markets. These were one of my top sources for good for my business back in the US. Here, I just like to go walk around and look at stuff. To me it’s kind of like a mini archaeological dig. Glad you enjoyed this video.

One thing that surprised me, is I picked up some vintage Thai music and I was shocked to find I liked it. The 50's, 60's really seemed to be an interesting time in Thailand with some of the lounge type music, smokey bar scenes et cetera. I find it really interesting. Also, 10 baht for a clean toiled with AC is the best deal ever. There is nothing better than a clean bathroom.
I know it might’ve seem strange that I got excited about a toilet, but as you will know, these kind of clean, external toilet facilities are literally unheard of here in Thailand
I've been here 6-years and have a wife that demands going in the jungle rather than a dirty bathroom. I have a keen appreciation of clean toilets :)@@LifewithSerg
Patthavikorn Market by Public Transport Although the Patthavikorn Market is not in a walkable distance from an MRT line, it is easy to access the market by public transport. From Bangkok, take the yellow MRT line and exit Bang Kapi station. From there walk 300 meters to bus station "Before Happy Land Junction". Take bus 95 to reach Patthavikorn Market market and get off the bus at bus station "Opposite Patthawikorn Market". The bus ride will takes about 25 minutes, depending on the traffic. To go back to Bang Kapi at the yellow MRT line, take the same bus 95 at bus station "Patthawikorn Market".

Awesome video Serg, thanks for showing us around the market. I used to be a professional eBay reseller in the UK and I miss finding bargains to resell online! When is best to hit this market to find some bargains?
I think Fridays are good because you will find some stuff before all the weekend shoppers show up. However, the majority of the vendors don’t come till Saturday or Sunday. So I would say come on one of those two days early in the morning. This market is about 85% clothing, so it just depends what you’re looking for.
Glad you are back posting again. Have you put much effort into learning Thai? Since I’ve been back in Canada for about a month now I try for at least an hour a day. Surprising how many words can retain. Look forward to testing it on my next trip back

I picked up a boxed vintage Japanese Tamaya Sextant there and the old guy selling it seemed to think it was a surveyors Theodolite. I gave him 500 baht and he was over the moon. it cost me more to get it checked and calibrated when i got back to the UK than i paid for it.
I’m defo a PlayStation guy myself. Watching this on Ps5 at 2160p. Could see the sweat drip at times😂 I love the prices of heavy winter clothing in Bangkok, so much cheaper than same brands are in the Uk.

I don’t know how you go about doing that. Just bringing the things there and walking around to see if anybody wants to buy them? Probably not the best game plan. There were definitely some secondhand brand names for sale there. Let’s place literally has hundreds and hundreds of different dealers selling things. You should definitely go take a look.

I liked this place, but like you said kinda hard to get there . Only way for me to get there quickly was to use motortaxi. It was a long nerve wrecking ride and maybe not viable if your gonna bring somone else along. Your video seems to show a lot more stuff being sold when i was there.
It’s a long way on a motorbike taxi from the center of the city. I personally don’t like to take motorbike taxis for more than 10 minutes. I have my own motorbike, but I prefer to take a comfortable taxi when I go to places like this, especially if I’m making videos. There’s lots of little hidden areas to this market that not everyone explores. Also if you come on a weekday, there’s much less vendors than on a weekend.
From what I understand, charities in the west receive used clothing and then resell it to buyers to be purchased by the kilo, and somehow it winds up in Bangkok, Africa and wherever else? Now this is fun, Japan has a very hip used clothing industry, and you will find Japanese buyers at Pattawikon buying the coolest stuff to ship back to Japan. If that clothing could talk… Fun video, I love Pattawikon.
When I lived in California, there was one huge weekend market that happened once a month. There were always Japanese tourist walking around with suitcases buying a cramp load of clothing. So yeah, it’s quite a common site. I think that many places.

Heaps of Australian second hand vintage sellers fly there to source stock and resell back here. They make $10-$15k per trip and get a FREE holiday all expenses paid!
There are definitely some vendors selling new items, but it’s gonna be basic things like socks, and underwear. But with hundreds of vendors, you’ll have to go and take a look for yourself.

Yeah, it depends where you’re coming from. If you’re coming from the center of the city, it would take you an hour on public transportation. I took a taxi from Phoenix Phong and I took 28 minutes and was only ฿208. It would’ve cost me a third of that to take public. Transportation would’ve taken well over an hour.
my GF works at a market i asked her why would Thai's buy puffer jackets when it's so hot ? she replied Thai's buy them for travelling overseas . kinda makes sense

I took a none ac bus from Hualamphong to this market a few months ago. It took more than an hour to reach there and costed less than 10 Thb
That’s a great deal. A taxi from Center of Bangkok is about 35 minutes in about 300 THB.

You’ll spend half a day there, easily, if you want to go through all the shirts. It’s a great place. I highly recommend it.

There are definitely some vendors selling new items, but it’s gonna be basic things like socks, and underwear. But with hundreds of vendors, you’ll have to go and take a look for yourself.

Yeah, it depends where you’re coming from. If you’re coming from the center of the city, it would take you an hour on public transportation. I took a taxi from Phoenix Phong and I took 28 minutes and was only ฿208. It would’ve cost me a third of that to take public. Transportation would’ve taken well over an hour.
