    Comment below with whether you currently rent or own and what you pay monthly where you are. Welcome Rachel!

    You hit the nail on the head. What may be expensive for some, living on just their social security check and small work pension, may not be expensive for some who have other sources of income. I live in Las Vegas and own my home. I have a condo that is 1333 sq ft. I pay(with HOA and Summerlin master plan fee) roughly $1,700 a month. Although the place I live is beautiful but not nearly as beautiful as what's shown in the video and not even close to offering the same amenities

    That's a beautiful condo!
    At today's rate, that's about $1,930 per month to rent. I pay $1,960 for a one bedroom in Seattle. It's in an older building with no amenities at all. However, the location is great - across from the beach, on Puget Sound, plenty of cafes, restaurants, and people watching. The biggest negative is that it's not in Thailand.

    That is a really nice 2Bed/2Bath condo! Love the view, amenities, and proximity to the beach. I own a condo in San Francisco and pay about $5600 (mortgage and HOA) a month. I am definitely looking to live at least part-time in SE Asia when I retire. I am Vietnamese and visited Vietnam many times and it would be my first choice but Thailand is a close second. Thanks for the great videos!

    One of the best looking Condos I've seen, really nice the interior design, not a white wall to be seen. Would be good for own use, but smaller units bring higher rental yields, so not really an investment condo. But NICE!

    Great video, I currently pay 1400, mortgage,120, lights, 100 water, 100, cable TV, 60, for internet that is only 3gigs…That isn’t including car insurance, car payments, property taxes… Good old USA has become absolutely ridiculous…. I just have a hard time being so far from the USA…. But the savings sounds incredible…. Thanks for sharing…

    Beautiful but WAY outside my budget. I don't want to go much over $750 max. I'm in Evansville, IN--2b/1bth apt. $1000/Month. My first trip to Thailand is July 11th, staying to the 29th. First Bangkok, then to Pattaya, then to Hua Hin, back to Bangkok. Retired Jan 2025.

      Agree. The people who bought these units paid a very high price therefore that needs to be reflected in the rental price. Some people really don’t care. Don’t underestimate the spending power of rich Thais, Chinese, Russians. Some rich Thais buy these units just as a weekend home.

      You can always buy a house/condo in Pattaya. The only caveat is you’d need to pay in cash as I haven’t heard of expat mortgages in Thailand. The ability of people who can rock up and drop 10s of millions of baht in a cash payment never ceases to amaze me. It would be interesting to know where that cash came from but I don’t think Thailand cares where it came from.

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kellywalker4494 luckily, not everyone who moves to Thailand is an old and broke retiree. :) Owner financed units are available and if you're here on a business visa, you can get loans/mortgages.
