Entering this fight for the first time quite literally took my breath away. I'm an amateur astronomer and quantum theorist....entering phase two and hearing the black hole recording? WHAM! I'm in love. ER handled cosmic fantasy in a way I've never seen before and is by far my favorite aspect lore wise. PS- This video is exactly what I wanted. Silent fight footage with only music. Thank you!
I love how grand her theme is. It’s like the music is telling you that you should be bowing down in rapture, but it contrasts with the twisted, tragic monster you’re fighting.
I love how much the second half emphasizes this ominous feeling of staring at this massive, alien looking being, feeling VERY uncanny. Like, you're watching it mind its own business, after destroying you since you can't die. Was it human? Why is it here? It HAS to have a purpose for being down here.
Yes, that’s the strange sound you can hear throughout the 2nd phase. It isn’t a literal sound made by a black hole. Rather, the sound made is based on information we observed from a black hole and recreated as a sound, since there is no sound in space
This is the bossfight that fully solidified the idea to me that Elden Ring is just Lovecrafts work but in a medieval setting. We literally get to fight a Great One.
@@Swaxeman yes but in elden have a lot of reference to bloodborne, the pizzacutter, blood-katana, blood-magic, the Old Wintern lanterns, the transformation in snake attack of messmer and more
@@danielv4793 Every souls game has similar refrences to each other, sans sekiro (which really isnt a souls game imo.) Elden Ring is far too different aesthetically to be a sequel from bloodborne.
Fun fact, the ost for the second phase is partly the first recorded sound of a black hole!
No shit. I love this fact. Another reason why FromSoft makes the best games... their soundtracks are incredible.

The first part of OST gives massive neon genesis evangelion vibes.
More like Bloodborne
Yessss that’s it! Thank you for reminding me what it was from
@@TVHEADtmnah definitely NGE
To me it's the Lake Guardians theme from pokemon
I thought the exact same thing
Somewhere in the Fromsoft office:
-How many references Lovecraft references do you want ?
-Yes
i wonder why this song isn’t on the official shadow of the erdtree ost on spotify
Fromsoft did a better job at making cosmic horror than some games based around it
I like how when she conjures the orb thingy in phase 2, the theme changes to simulate the sound of a black hole.

the intro riff sounds like the promenade of pictures at an exhibition
Metyr one of my favorite bosses to fight in elden ring also i love her design also the ost is thee best in the game in my opinion
Loved this fight, crazy shit. Wish From would make a new cosmic horror game akin to Bloodborne
Hopefully it is their next project!
Sony is the reason Bloodborne has been treated like an illegitimate child. Look into it.

Much of the second half is an actual recording of a black hole
im so glad they added bloodborne to elden ring 🤞
I read somewhere that the phase 2 soundtrack has as base the first recorded sound of a black hole, is that true?
Interesting.

If the first phase is still bearable, then the second one, especially because of the music, makes me anxious.
Underrated Boss...
No doubt
Best fight in the dlc imo. Epic
Such beautiful music
Surely I can't be the only one that get Final Fantasy 12 vibes from at least first phase
Phase two sound is “the sound of a black hole” published by nasa…. Wtf…
More evidence of elden ring is just the sequel of bloodborne, but the IP problems force From to change a lot of things
Other than the cosmic horror elements, the aesthetics are fully different

Soo is she like a great one?
Envoy of a great one basically
