Can Move Forward leader Pita succeed in second Thai PM vote?

  • Thailand's Parliament is set to hold another ballot to pick a new prime minister tomorrow. Last week, Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat failed to get enough votes, after military-appointed senators of the Upper House blocked his bid. Even though the eight-party coalition has confirmed to nominate him again, there's now doubt whether he can get a second attempt. The conservative anti-Pita faction has argued that a motion that has been rejected cannot be resubmitted in the parliamentary term. They have argued that Mr Pita's nomination is a motion that has failed.

He comes from rich family and used to be actor. Pita’s father used to be one of seniors advisors to former ousted Prime Minister Thaksin and Pita would join his dad Thaksin on private jets. Pita is not even representative of the majority of Thais and eats in expensive French restaurants and dines with millionaires. He doesn’t represent the 70% of actual Thais who did not vote for him. His supporters are bullies and intimidate others and their families who speak out against their party

The Future Forward Party (FFP) was a political party in Thailand founded in March 2018 by Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, former vice president of Thai Summit Group,
BANGKOK - Top government officials on Friday ordered a probe into the Future Forward Party after it admitted to hiring an American lobbyist to facilitate the party leader’s visit to the US in July.
Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said he has seen the contract between American public relations firm APCO Worldwide and the leader of the Future Forward Party Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit that surfaced in the media on Thursday, though he refused to link it with the recent rally against Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha in New York.

Pita may have a big influence among the young Thai generation but the Real Critical Issue is not so much as securing the majority of young voters, but Mostly about the capability and heavy responsibility of working and cooperation with teams of Leaders to develop the kingdom of Thailand, which Pita does not have the experience and working relationship with. Pita may be a capable budding leader but to be Prime Minister requires respect, responsibly and maturity skills to handle high octane bureaucratic administration at different levels is a completely different set of rules than the flowing clouds of public support.

you can say that about all parties and military leaders, whom have very different abilities in terms of cooperation and responsibility to the public and public needs than genuine politicians (Pita) who have put the people at the heart of his campaign. Additionally, other political leaders who stood also would not have the experience and working relationship, so then under your requirements there can be no leader? The reality is just like any democracy a leader elected by the people ends up learning on the job, developing and reforming what they need to within the bureaucratic structure and administration to ensure their plans are met. Hopefully of course for the better.

US doesn't care about Thailand, the 2014 Kyiv CIA coup and extension of Western aspired weapons aid to neo nazis, meaning NATO/US is not willing to give up their gangster image. A shaky Thai government without a status quo is a free marvelous birthday cake to US/NATO after the failed nefarious adventure in Ukraine. Getting a hotspot Thailand means getting their battered balls back for China's confrontation. Don't always fantasize of an honest US/Western support, what was before is not what as it is. Who is right or wrong, is the one whose intention is to make Thailand even more weak.
