Last I heard he was in jail for something so that kind of checks out. Seems like his life took a bad turn once Buffy was over and he could barely get any new work.
Get the Xbox game. It's just called 'Buffy the Vampie Slayer.' It came out a couple years before this game did but it's SO much better. It plays pretty much like this game but with better design, better graphics and a much better game engine (which is called The Slayer Engine).

The grumps making their own Buffy quips was so so funny! I hope they play at least one more but I’m just grateful I got this at all. Thank you, Grumps for really making my day. 😊❤️
Her ladder climbing may look weird but that's very normal for ladder climbing. Most games that have your knees right in front of you are using 60ish degree and under angle climbing technique.
Did anyone else bust up laughing when Arin mixed up James Marsters and James Marsden? Like, now all I can think of is fucking Cyclops doing a bad Billy Idol impersonation...
I binge watched the entirety of Buffy a couple years ago. Actually understanding everything I'm looking at in one of these weird mid-2000s game adaptions is a weird experience.
Fun fact: I'm a direct descendant of GIles Corey, the guy that got pressed to death in the Salem Witch Trials. They placed a board on him and added large boulders until he couldnt breathe anymore. They only thing he ever said as they did this was "More weight..."
For context (for those who are even interested in that), the torturers were asking him to make a guilty or non-guilty plea so that they could proceed with their bogus investigation, as they wanted his property and needed to have him found guilty of being a witch (if he pleaded non-guilty, they would find him guilty at the sham trial). He however refused to make any plea, constantly repeating "More weight" to have them continue their torture so that when he died, the torturers were unable to steal his property from him and it would go to his family.

My favorite thing about game grumps is how arin will just run through an area without searching most of it and then wonder where he is supposed to find an item while wandering in circles aimlessly
I'm sure they'll get around to a full playthrough at some point. I just hope it's not another Danganronpa game. Those games are fun to watch be played but good lord are they long and, IMO, poorly written. I could see them starting Sonic Frontiers at some point. Or maybe they'll continue the Ace Attorney series (I really hope they do this tbh).
I am heavily surprised they didn't play Sonic Frontiers yet? One problem is Arin genuinely hates genuinely great games and viewers tend to get pretty annoyed (see God of War, Spiderman, and more). Plus I think viewership drops after a few eposides. But I'd expect them to play Sonic Frontiers maybe, and maybe like, when the next Zelda comes out. Those are two franchises they can't stay away from for long
Yeah, but they did do a summer of touring (and helping other channels tour), as well as go through Danganronpa, as well as plan Ghoul, Guest, and Jingle Grumps. Maybe in the spirit of the holidays, we can chill a bit.
@@CrazeeAdam These are recorded pretty far in advance though. They might have already played Sonic Frontiers, but just have another month of episodes to go through first.
I'm actually surprised Arin hasn't watched much of Buffy, I feel like the campy humour is right up his alley. Lots of non-cg monsters and funny moments, definitely worth a watch if you want a good taste of that late 90s-early 2000s nostalgia from a show. It's not the best show, but it's definitely an entertaining watch.
Played this a lot with my sister growing up as we were huge fans of the show. All of the random shit is just references to episodes like the ventriloquist dummy that was alive. Not a great game, but not terrible. The hit boxes could be pretty wonky, and repetitive combat but we loved it anyway. I’d say it’s probably just for fans, but was fun back when it came out and the show was running still I think. Bringing back the memories grumps, thanks for some unexpected nostalgia today!
The first 3D game was on Xbox. It's like this but way more refined and better designed. It ran on a different engine which was a lot more powerful than this one. Like the Xbox game is actually a hidden gem.
This is the sequel game, so Alyson Hannigan is NOT Willow’s voice. In the original Buffy game, I believe only Sarah Michelle Gellar does not voice her character. She was filming Scooby Doo I believe. Big fan of both of these games. :)
I knew that Arin would be completely unable to figure out anything in this game because it doesn't baby you or really do anything to make what you're supposed to do obvious. It's honestly rather bad game design because it's not remotely clear and you need to be thorough and try everything and remember what you just did, which Arin won't do. Chaos Bleeds was a really fun game for its time and for me as a Buffy fan when it was airing.
Man, Buffy is such a nostalgia trip for me. Really the first long form series I got into. Even before Babylon 5. Also it's James Marsters. Marsden was Cyclops. And honestly, I thought Picolo was the one part of Dragon Ball Evolution that was actually good. He really did his best with that role. Kind of a shame the rest of the production was so poor.
Arin! You and Suzi have to watch Buffy the vampire slayer you would both really enjoy it. Whoever from game grumps reads these comments please pass this message on.
Sometimes if I'm feeling really in need of some cozy vibes I'll put on a Zelda playthrough and start the game at the same time as Arin and Dan. It works with most of them lol
Oh my god you guys! there's a fricken tomb in the first area you can jump on to get above one of the mausoleums and i think there's a lever behind one grave in the second area to open another mausoleum.
@@Randomninja47yeah i think he had a pretty bad alcohol problem, i remember he was in a few episodes of criminal minds and that’s about it lol
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Game Grumps are my two absolute FAVORITE things in this world, so to see them collide like this made today one of the best days of my life!!!
The boys getting into a sinkhole of doing Valley!Girl voices is absolutely delightful :')
“This graveyard fucking sucks. I can’t get any unlockage.”
Lmfao that title change
''It's a wild Burgie holy shit''. Read in Arins old man on rocket chair voice from Guts'n Glory 😂
I feel like we need JSRF after the holidays. Imagine Dan trying to wrap his head around that beautiful fever dream.
This. Please.
Dan would be too in love with the music to pay attention to much else.
I binge watched the entirety of Buffy a couple years ago. Actually understanding everything I'm looking at in one of these weird mid-2000s game adaptions is a weird experience.
"I guess that's one way to say that sentence."
I was going to make a comment about how weirdly phrased that was, but Dan beat me to it.
That Dan fading away from the mic bit of her getting quieter is going to make a great animated.
Arin in Dec '22: is there a writer's strike or something?
Arin in Sep '23: 🫠
This brings back so many memories. I'm happy they are playing this
Does anyone else think that loading screen looks like an album cover for a 2000’s punk band?
From what i could find on IMDB, the actors for Giles, Xander, Tara, Spike and Faith are all the original actors, Buffy and Willow are not :)
Judaism's hard! I like the implication that Dan isn't 100% on the number of days
Please, please, please play some more! This made my Saturday morning 😄
I don't think I can bear to watch them miss the sundial piece for five more episodes.
So frustrating watching Arin find the last piece of the puzzle. It looked like you walked by it so many times 😂😂
"Is there a writers strike or something?" destroyed me.
Arin: I haven't seen the show.
Arin Later: Who are these people!!!
@@resileaf9501 yep! Crazy story. I'm pretty sure the property is still with the family (although distant, from my fork of the tree) to this day.
wow i never knew giles corey was a real person i’ve only heard of him from the crucible lol
I also remember this game being pretty legit for the time, as an action game. Doesn't hurt that I was a fan of buffy, too.
Buffy was such a mainstay in my house growing up, so seeing Arin and Danny play this with zero knowledge of the series kills me!
Usually I hate when ppl talk over game talk. But 1. I don't mind when y'all have closed captioning on. However, this is game grumps and their game talk is WAAAAAAAY BETTER THAN ANY GAME. I could not stop laughing
Yesterday I swear the title was called something along the lines of "We were told this game is really good." And now its that. haha
Hearing the boys being Lumpy Space Princess is just funny
Me: I wonder what this game is like…
Buffy: *punches a cop*
Me: Heck yeah
1:18
And then he later voiced a villain in Dragon Ball Super
3:25 “you’re ending your sentences with prepositional phrases. you better stop ending your sentences with prepositional phrases.”
“or what?”
“or i’ll make it look like you *killed me*.”
My favorite thing about game grumps is how arin will just run through an area without searching most of it and then wonder where he is supposed to find an item while wandering in circles aimlessly
Remember when game grumps did full playthroughs? It feels like it's becoming the new "why doesn't Arin animate anymore?"
Good times. Back when they used to do multiple shorter videos per day so they could have multiple playthroughs going on at a time.
DUDE I JUST FINISHED WATCHING ALL OF BUFFY AND WAS GONNA GET THIS GAME AGAIN, SICK!
Real ones remember the original title of the video
Literally every episode of GG ever:
Where are we supposed to go?
I dunno, you were talking over the instructions
I mean, it looks like a fairly okay game. It’s almost like any game feels bad if you don’t pay attention to any tutorials and ignore half the story.
Willow is voiced by Kari Wahlgren AKA Jessica from Rick and Morty and... *squints* Haruko from FLCL?!
As a Buffy fan I approve of the Grumps silly shenanigans.
This is the sequel game, so Alyson Hannigan is NOT Willow’s voice. In the original Buffy game, I believe only Sarah Michelle Gellar does not voice her character. She was filming Scooby Doo I believe. Big fan of both of these games. :)
Arin really bringing it with a ton of energy right from the gate!
Apparently Lumpy Space Princess was voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Learn something new every day.
Love you boys!!!! Would love more harvester. Would enjoy more Also love the hannukah representation in the intros!!!!!
arin mentioned the piccolo thing one second after i did out loud, it was amazing.
This game was awesome back in the day
I knew that Arin would be completely unable to figure out anything in this game because it doesn't baby you or really do anything to make what you're supposed to do obvious. It's honestly rather bad game design because it's not remotely clear and you need to be thorough and try everything and remember what you just did, which Arin won't do. Chaos Bleeds was a really fun game for its time and for me as a Buffy fan when it was airing.
James Marsden also voiced Zamasu in Dragonball Super - he redeemed himself.
Makes me want to rewatch Buffy
I know. I have the whole series on DVD, but the only episode I consistently rewatch is the damned musical.
Lol
My Wife and I literally finished the series in the summer. She had never seen the whole series, and I own the whole thing. She loved it!
@@kevinthecleric now on to angel
Love that this video was originally titled "we were told this game rules" and is now just "we were lied to"
I would love it if you guys continued playing this!! Hopefully it gets a lot of views :)
One door out of all of them that says, "There must be some *other* way to open it," and of course the guys ignore that entirely.
Sometimes if I'm feeling really in need of some cozy vibes I'll put on a Zelda playthrough and start the game at the same time as Arin and Dan. It works with most of them lol
Sad
Saddest story of all time
You gotta get a life bro
Jeez it's not sad, dude. chill.
You do you, OP. Don't let this person make you feel bad.
@@Fimbleshanks thank u fam I'm good it's not a sad thing
Is Arin so uncultured he doesn't know about Buffy The Vampire Slayer?
I'd love to see more of this game. I get the feeling it will have some good shenanigans in it.
Oh my god you guys! there's a fricken tomb in the first area you can jump on to get above one of the mausoleums and i think there's a lever behind one grave in the second area to open another mausoleum. ALSO the joke you were making about the zombies being people's loved ones actually becomes relevant once you open the church as Buffy's mum is buried in that graveyard!
Giraffe town rules and I don’t see you going back…
