Oh, my one of my favorite songs. I'm 75 yrs old, and when I first heard this song, I had to go out and buy his CD. Love his voice. I still play this CD in my car. ❤❤❤
I had the same reaction the first time I heard it. Mike Hucknall is an insane talent. He's humble and in it for the music, not the fame. Simple man, simple life, BIG TALENT.
One of the great voices of our lifetimes! Mick Hucknall wrote this song which is biographical. His mother abandoned him when he was about 3 years old. His father raised him as a single father from then on.
Mick Hucknall is the singer with Simply Red who comes from Stockport, Manchester UK . They had lots of hits including early ones like Holding On, Money's To Tight To Mention, I Want To Fall From The Stars, If You Don't Know Me By Now one of my favourites is Fairground Mick such a beautiful soulful voice great to hear your reaction
Great reaction. I actually worked with one of his relations for a while and am from the same place as the legend that is Mick Hucknall. He has an amazing voice and can remember back into the 80's/90's he just came in as a whirlwind. Simply Red have some great hits, you should listen to more of this concert in 1996. I was pregnant at the time and couldn't go and my daughter is now 27 years old !!!! Stay safe from Stockport, Manchester UK "the home of Mick Hucknall"
The North of England has loved soul music for generations. The port cities, Liverpool and Manchester, etc, were where American records arrived and local clubs and DJs played them. They assumed all the soulful American records were recorded by African Americans. So when they heard the Charlie Rich record "Don't Tear Me Down" they thought he was a brother. Nope just an example of blue eyed soul at its greatest.
This song is so iconic, I remember hearing this song for the first time as a kid in the 80's and singing along to the chorus every time it played on the radio. I would like to see you react to "In the air tonight" (live) By Phil Collins, its a magical performance which I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Yep better than the recording Every country has its good and bad Yes different music hits differently Thats the beauty of it variety Im lucky I've grown up in the best decades of music Also a country thats always imbrace the world We where taught about the world in school history arts drama classes just a few things Our radio station used to play music from around the world everyday We where very blessed in Australia 🇦🇺 and unfortunately not like it used to be We used to respect our elders and have high standards for society But over last few decade slipped a lot and adopted the bad parts of the world No respect or accountability and humility we used to pride ourselves on You'll find it more in the country side but cities are getting more like the rest of the world They call it progression now days Take me back we didn't have much even sleeping on floors until afford a bed But we where happy and free to walk the streets at night not even lock your home The biggest lose is the freedom's of innocence to be a child and only need food cloths and a roof over your head As i said we where happy back then They have everything today and still miserable because killing themselves for it The music the same not lated back like it was and always angry or devastating relationship no positivity Like in our era 60/70/80/90s up lifting even in hard time and positive for the future Now its all doom and gloom the worlds going to,end if we dont do this or wars Ive lived with those threats from 60s and no of its happened as i said up lifting music unlike today Sadly I've forgotten so much music thats why i watch sites like your its new for you but brings back my child hood and music of forgotten Keep travelling the world through the music and it good history in the clips of the times how things have changed Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
This is s fantastic song... Still! Great song in the 80:s amd even now. Tou should check out Robnie Williams 2004 Angels at Kenworth. 125,000 people x3... 3 days 375,000 people. Famous around the world, except the US.
I'm fairly sure that JT would not be insulted! ❤✌️ Btw, you don't even need to travel out of the country to evolve. Our country has a lot to offer if you are unable to make it out of this country. But travel is very infighting.
th-cam.com/video/yG07WSu7Q9w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9fJ7PMSV-Nxqv2BZ Here is the address for his music video - I believe it shows his home town in Ireland. I do like the live version better but I thought you might like to see the scenery. :)
I like your respectful comedy and willingness to expand your horizons. Bet you tripped hearing some white boys be brothers with soul for the first few times! (i.e. Thee Bee Gees, Simply Red)😂❤🤍💙😅
One of my favorite voices of the 80's. He still sounds exactly the same! Thanks for great reaction.
The song and the voice will haunt you for weeks. Trust me. Fantastic.
His voice is truly amazing. I loved him! Great reaction.❤

That singer happens to be a massive United fan, so Old Trafford is the right arena for him :)
I grew up listening to them. Their music is magnificent 🙌🏼🔥
His voice hits your soul
I've not seen this!! Isn't he amazing!? ❤️✌️
I've heard this many times. Thanks for the reaction!

Holding back the years
Chills.. Wow.. Didn't know this live version..
As a Gooner, you obviously know OT and the 'club' - that's Mick's homage to his beloved team...hence, Simply RED! GGMU
The official video is worth a watch!
Will do
Hey CV you need to listen to Simply Red when he started in the 1980? He has a wonderful video for this song!!
Ascoltare questa voce meravigliosa è un vero regalo e la reazione è fantastica 😊😊😊
Yep better than the recording
Every country has its good and bad
Yes different music hits differently
Thats the beauty of it variety
Im lucky I've grown up in the best decades of music
Also a country thats always imbrace the world
We where taught about the world in school history arts drama classes just a few things
Our radio station used to play music from around the world everyday
We where very blessed in Australia 🇦🇺 and unfortunately not like it used to be
We used to respect our elders and have high standards for society
But over last few decade slipped a lot and adopted the bad parts of the world
No respect or accountability and humility we used to pride ourselves on
You'll find it more in the country side but cities are getting more like the rest of the world
They call it progression now days
Take me back we didn't have much even sleeping on floors until afford a bed
But we where happy and free to walk the streets at night not even lock your home
The biggest lose is the freedom's of innocence to be a child and only need food cloths and a roof over your head
As i said we where happy back then
They have everything today and still miserable because killing themselves for it
The music the same not lated back like it was and always angry or devastating relationship no positivity
Like in our era 60/70/80/90s up lifting even in hard time and positive for the future
Now its all doom and gloom the worlds going to,end if we dont do this or wars
Ive lived with those threats from 60s and no of its happened as i said up lifting music unlike today
Sadly I've forgotten so much music thats why i watch sites like your its new for you but brings back my child hood and music of forgotten
Keep travelling the world through the music and it good history in the clips of the times how things have changed
Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
Born in England, but he's got to be Irish ancestry. I say he must be Irish because the Irish can sing like no other. Amazing voice.
Next one either If you don’t know me by now or Stars. Both beautiful Simply Red songs.
Mick Hucknall is fantastic, & you need more!
This is s fantastic song... Still! Great song in the 80:s amd even now. Tou should check out Robnie Williams 2004 Angels at Kenworth. 125,000 people x3... 3 days 375,000 people. Famous around the world, except the US.
He sounds just us good after 40 years! You should watch the music video.
Never a bad song👌♥️
Que magnifico tremendo un regalo escuchar esto
I have this very album, I love his voice and I love the choice of music he makes
A fav! Thanks!
His voice more impressive then Justin Timberlake.
ohhh for sure
🎉toute ma jeunesse ❤❤❤❤❤
Northern soul
He wrote this at 17 years old
This song, as was this group, was so important, then😢
This acoustic version is good, but you really need to hear it with the full band behind him. It's missing a lot that the backing singers add.
❤
No you dont sound crazy at all, you just love good music and you feel it.
I'm fairly sure that JT would not be insulted! ❤✌️

isnt mick from manchester so this must be his home crowd at old trafford
You should watch the original video he was very young
If not already heard, have a listen to Willy DeVille-- Storybook Love.

Mick Hucknall's home town is not Ireland, he was born in the same place as me Stockport (Denton), Manchester!
He's from Manchester and a big Manchester United fan. The setting for the video was Whitby in North Yorkshire, England.
Not a Vowell out of place brother😉
please check out the video for this, very nice then If you don't know me by now
you listened to a real voice, not auto tuned like Taylor shit etc etc
Unbelievable vocal performance! The guitar accompaniment was wrong! Sorry, but as an ex rock musician I have my opinion.
I enjoy live music but this is nothing compared to the studio version
