Debbie I am a newbie to your channel - so Hello I live in sub-tropical Brisbane Australia. I am battling hugely this year with Mealybug & am having to remove all my sweet potato vines completely & I am devastated. Your mulch on your vines looks just amazing & that was a great little harvest. Cheers Denise- Australia 😃😃
I have not had that experience! try Self-sufficient Me TH-cam Channel. I think his location is where you are and he is very helpful with gardening into.
Thank you for sharing your down to earth experiences of growing sweet potatoes! Although I've been a vegetable gardener for more than 20 years, I've never tried sweet potatoes. I have grown white potatoes. How do you keep weeds from growing under the vines,? I don't see any mulch, ground covers, etc.
Many years ago a man used 5 acres of dad’s land to grow sweet potatoes on shares. He had a fantastic crop, but was not able to sell the first potato. Dad fed them to his pigs
How sad. They are an excellent, nutritious source of food. I know that many gardeners and homesteaders feed the odd shaped or small one to the animals though and that's a good thing.

Great information and teaching Debbie 😊❤Thank you Sister Debbie 😊❤
Isn't it wonderful how we plant, God waters and they just grow. And it feels so good to reap them.
Thank you for your channel. Keep the great content. I am learning so much.

Excelente!!! Gracias❤
Very informative and motivated thanks.
My question how do you irrigate your farm
Hand water and overhead irrigation sprinklers. Depends on the need.

They grow so thick that few weeds grow there. Some are planted in mulch.
@debbiesorganicgarden Thank You! I think I'll try growing some this year. I'm also in north central FL. Should I plant now?
In Cambodia, we often grow the white type.
Beautiful blooms. They always remind me of morning glories. How do you use the vines for fertilizer? Compost pile or you do it another way?
fill a bucket full of vines, add water, let ferment for several weeks to several months. Use that water as fertilizer. 1 cup per gallon of water.
This kind of drying is very new to me. In my country we dry them outside in the sun
Thanks for sharing. It's too humid here but I'm sure that works in drier climates.
@debbiesorganicgarden it does very well

Not goig to watch till the end, but the best way to prepare sweet potatoes is to just bake them without peeling and add a little butter!
