My mom and I watched TRL together pretty much every weekday afternoon (a show on MTV called “Total Request Live” - it was a countdown of the most popular music videos, and had celebrity guests on). These early Eminem songs/videos were very popular, and she definitely enjoyed watching his videos, too. 😂 I would say that cancel culture was actually in its infancy in those days - it just didn’t have a name yet, and the logistics were different. Political correctness was on the rise. Eminem sparked plenty of outrage - he had the FCC and various political figures trying to censor him, had lots of people protesting him at various appearances/performances for being “homophobic.” But the internet had only just begun to become a somewhat widely available tool - most people who did have it still had dial-up, and social media didn’t exist. “Viral” moments didn’t spread through social media, they spread through news broadcasts and newspapers/magazines. Eminem was just so insanely popular, and most people actually appreciated the First Amendment…so he was uncancelable despite a lot of powerful people’s best efforts.

man get ready his releasing his new album soon and he is gonna go nuts about everything and everyone, hope we see some reactions on this one, also make some more of his older songs some of them are worth your time 🙏
Eminem crosses multiple generations. I grew up listening to Eminem thanks to my Mum (she's now in her mid 50's) who was a massive fan. I am now in my early 30s and my 15 year old daughter is also a fan, as she's grown up with me listening to it.
This song came out in 2000. As for age, I am 47 now and started listening to Eminem on the album before this one (Slim Shady LP) in 1999 so at 22 years old. Favorite Eminem song: Without Me.
My first time coming across your channel. I was a kid when this came out. You didn't see this stuff on TV back then, either 😂 That's why we say the new generation can't cancel Em. I'm 35 and an early Millenial. So you are correct.
They tried to cancel him from day one. The government, media, religious groups, other rappers and artists and so on. That was 6 years before the iphone came out.
I didn’t really notice Eminiem until he came out on the grammys (?) with all the look alikes. I was kinda impressed everyone cut and bleached their hair 😊

I have to apologize to you kids out there. We of Generation X took all the great music and left you all with nothing but crap for that we are truly sorry. But the beautiful thing is it's all recorded so you can tiptoe back through history and see what the real s*** is like Eminem is also from Generation X. But you're correct, my children came up on this music and they are millennials. However, most Millennials wouldn't have been introduced to this music without their Generation X parents who were bumping it in our cars
42 and remember the very first CD with the pill on it. I don't know the Eminem today, but I was in high school when he came out and was always a huge fan. So glad to hear Slim is back.
Haha, i remember stading in line for his CD releases. Couldn't just download it or watch it on You tube. Im 45 now and always listened to the original Eminem
This came out in 2000.. i was 31 then.. i'm 55 now... back then I had a competition system in my suburban.. 10k watts.. on two 18" subs.. 5k watts on the mids and highs.. this shit slapped.. my wife and I was running around fukkin with strippers doing a bunch of blow.. i owned a successful data networking business.. had the loudest system on the lake on my boat too.. these were great times.. I still have systems in my vehicles.. just using 12's now..
1st time I ever heard Eminem was ironically at school (I was in an alternative school that was just up a small hill from the actual high school...I was in the normal school until lunchtime and after lunch had to go to the alternative school until 3pmish) Our teacher at the alt. school had a tv on in the room and had to go over to the actual school to talk to a teacher about something and while they were gone one of the kids turned the channel to I think MTV where they were playing "My Name Is" I commented on how funny it was and one of the kids told me who it was and what the title was. After school I got my mom to go to Wal-mart and buy the CD and listened to every song on it (and I loved most of them, bought the 2nd and 3rd CD's the moment I knew about them without even knowing what songs were on them, liked almost all of them too.) I do have to say "clean" versions should not exist...it just defeats a purpose to me lol I can't say my favorite but my top 5 in no particular order are: The Real Slim Shady My Name Is Without Me Houdini Just Lose It When I'm in a more serious mood those change to: 3A.M. Kill You Like Toy Soldiers Love The Way You Lie Lose Yourself
I would say I grew up on Eminem but actually my daughters did as they rode around in the back seat with dad turning it up on the car stereo! I’m still a young 62. In 2000 there was no canceling, only limiting of where it could be played.
We didn't cancel each other back in the day. If we didn't like it, then we just did something else.

Got that subscribe from me for the most realest reaction vid. You have such a vibrant honest reaction that i ain't seeing in some of these other guys.
I appreciate that alot
My man, your first pause in the video got me like "yall act like you never seen a white person before" lmao
man get ready his releasing his new album soon and he is gonna go nuts about everything and everyone, hope we see some reactions on this one, also make some more of his older songs some of them are worth your time 🙏
Eminem crosses multiple generations. I grew up listening to Eminem thanks to my Mum (she's now in her mid 50's) who was a massive fan. I am now in my early 30s and my 15 year old daughter is also a fan, as she's grown up with me listening to it.
I was never an Eminem fan but I forgot how dope this song was.
This song came out in 2000. As for age, I am 47 now and started listening to Eminem on the album before this one (Slim Shady LP) in 1999 so at 22 years old. Favorite Eminem song: Without Me.
He's literally the highest paid rapper of all time and you don't know who he is? Have you been living under a rock?
yes
I grew up on Em, I was born in '91 I'm 33. I remember watching his music videos on MTV
My first time coming across your channel. I was a kid when this came out. You didn't see this stuff on TV back then, either 😂 That's why we say the new generation can't cancel Em.
I'm 35 and an early Millenial. So you are correct.
Check out “like you soldiers”, and “til I collapse” those are some good songs too from back in the day too by Eminem
i am 40, this cd came out the summer i turned 18. i was bumping this song in my dorm room
They tried to cancel him from day one. The government, media, religious groups, other rappers and artists and so on. That was 6 years before the iphone came out.
The Rhinos "clapping" was a nature show that would be on regular TV during family TV hour. This kid is so sheltered. LOL!
We’re in our 50’s now…😂😂and still here!
I didn’t really notice Eminiem until he came out on the grammys (?) with all the look alikes. I was kinda impressed everyone cut and bleached their hair 😊
If you want to know the worst of Eminem you need to listen to Kim and Bonnie and Clyde cause like that us his absolute worst and sickest moments ever but theyre fucking amazing songs
I have to apologize to you kids out there. We of Generation X took all the great music and left you all with nothing but crap for that we are truly sorry. But the beautiful thing is it's all recorded so you can tiptoe back through history and see what the real s*** is like
Eminem is also from Generation X. But you're correct, my children came up on this music and they are millennials. However, most Millennials wouldn't have been introduced to this music without their Generation X parents who were bumping it in our cars
I can't wait til society stops being so offended by everything again
People who grew up on Eminem are definitely in their late 30’s up to 40’s
42 and remember the very first CD with the pill on it. I don't know the Eminem today, but I was in high school when he came out and was always a huge fan. So glad to hear Slim is back.
Im almost 33
I’m 27 and I grew up on Eminem since a little kid
He changed the hip hop game when he came out i had never heard anything like it at the time and was blown away
Haha, i remember stading in line for his CD releases. Couldn't just download it or watch it on You tube. Im 45 now and always listened to the original Eminem
I was 14 when Eminem dropped The Slim Shady LP. I feel old now haha.
Rated "M" for Marshall
I loved Slim Shady and so glad he's back! Can't wait for the whole album to drop.
1st time I ever heard Eminem was ironically at school (I was in an alternative school that was just up a small hill from the actual high school...I was in the normal school until lunchtime and after lunch had to go to the alternative school until 3pmish)
Our teacher at the alt. school had a tv on in the room and had to go over to the actual school to talk to a teacher about something and while they were gone one of the kids turned the channel to I think MTV where they were playing "My Name Is" I commented on how funny it was and one of the kids told me who it was and what the title was. After school I got my mom to go to Wal-mart and buy the CD and listened to every song on it (and I loved most of them, bought the 2nd and 3rd CD's the moment I knew about them without even knowing what songs were on them, liked almost all of them too.)
I do have to say "clean" versions should not exist...it just defeats a purpose to me lol
I can't say my favorite but my top 5 in no particular order are:
The Real Slim Shady
My Name Is
Without Me
Houdini
Just Lose It
When I'm in a more serious mood those change to:
3A.M.
Kill You
Like Toy Soldiers
Love The Way You Lie
Lose Yourself
When he’s rubbing his bum on the guy’s face say, “my bum is on your face” is a reference to Tom Green’s comedy.
I would say I grew up on Eminem but actually my daughters did as they rode around in the back seat with dad turning it up on the car stereo! I’m still a young 62. In 2000 there was no canceling, only limiting of where it could be played.
I first heard eminem with this music video on Nickelodeon actually 😂😂
