Keisha Cole is dope but Mary J is legendary status in R&B. I’m sure Keisha would agree. As far as Dre as a rapper, albums are Platinum. That should tell you what you need to hear.
I’ll never forget the day The Chronic came out, I was 15 and borrowed my friends cd to record on a cassette, even if I get Alzheimer’s I’ll be able to quote the entire album ❤

My favorite bit in this song is: "So, what do you say to somebody you hate (What?) Or anyone tryna bring trouble your way? Wanna resolve things in a bloodier way? (Yup) Just study a tape of N.W.A" Because I still have my cassette tape of NWA straight outta Compton from 1988. I love that he said study a tape of NWA, because cassettes were a big deal back then! There are so many amazing references in this one song, like: "Who you think brought you the oldies? Eazy-E's, Ice Cubes, and D.O.C's The Snoop D-O-double-G's And the group that said, "Motherfuck the police" I mean he really flexes on all the rap that he's brought to us over the decades! I do so love it when him and Eminem get together
I can remember having to go to my friends house to listen to NWA and 2Live Crew when we was kids , because my Gma would always try throwing my tapes in the trash lol miss them days !
As many others have said, yes, Em wrote both his verses (the feature originally intended for Snoop), and Dre’s verses. *But,* I still give Dre credit for his delivery (and general badass production skills). Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Dre did write for himself on the recent-ish Em collab “Gospel.”
This song, is the first time I actually paid attention to Eminem. Like I had heard "My Name Is" before this, but I couldn't follow it. My power level wasn't high enough and I got overloaded. I always loved Dre, so when 2001 came out I saw this video, the first single from the album. When I heard this one, that was when my Eminem journey began. So I hold this song as very dear and special to me.
This was the album that made everybody respect Dre again but need to hear more em. But gotta credit Dre tho. He made everyone want to hear more Ice Cube and D.O.C. during the NWA days, more Snoop, 2Pac (and many others) during the Death Row days and same with Em (and plenty of others) during Aftermath days. The unconventional off-beat rhythm that sounds so fire from In Da Club by 50, gotta credit Dre for that too!

You gotta remember that almost ALL of the street dudes in NY had real beef with 50 back then. Em was the only one smart and crazy enough to take that risk and it worked.
97 Bonnie and Clyde , “Guilty conscience” and “Ass like that” by Eminem should be added to the list definitely
Replace ass like that with "kim" off mmlp. He went nuts on there
Yesss 97 Bonnie and Clyde
Yes please, that whole first CD is crazy
and Kim lmao
Pretty sure they did Bonnie Clyde a year ago
Been bumpin this for 20+ years, well, the original. it’s very cool to see you guys discovering it! What’s even more impressive is how good this track still is today
Dre was fire but Em actually wrote most of this. Dude was on another level when he came on the scene. Love this song!
Em wrote the lyrics as pure homage to dre and originally wrote it for dre and snoop on c2001- Em wrote it and took it to dre. They did it together in the end and what a tune
Now go listen to the entire album from start to finish.
Or perhaps all of them, starting with the Deep Cover soundtrack, followed by The Chronic.
Keisha Cole is dope but Mary J is legendary status in R&B. I’m sure Keisha would agree. As far as Dre as a rapper, albums are Platinum. That should tell you what you need to hear.
Diddy got platinum albums also but he sucks as a rapper. Dre's flow is actually pretty good for someone who isn't primarily a rapper.
@@ariefraiser140 that’s a good point. I think I only purchased one album back in the day. Only one song sticks out and cannot remember the rest.
We have Em, MaryJ, Snoop and 50 bc of Dre. Best Era of music imo
I still love that, JayZ, linkin park, Dr Dre and Eminem encore numb. Such a classic.
I’ll never forget the day The Chronic came out, I was 15 and borrowed my friends cd to record on a cassette, even if I get Alzheimer’s I’ll be able to quote the entire album ❤
I was a 70s kids (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, etc) 80s teen punk (Dead Kennedys, Descendents, D.R.I., etc) and in the 90s I had a pair of 15 inch subwoofers in the trunk of my Audi. Now that I’m old I like most kinds of music, but always had mad respect for Dr Dre.
i feel like so many great rap groups came out the same time in the 90's and you had every style west and east coast ,down south and the north no it seems that mumble rap has taken over and this is why im glad to have all the cds from the older groups
“Murder was the Case”, “Deep Cover”, “Who am I” and “Nothin but a “G” Thang” are great songs with Snoop and Dre on them. “Lodi Dodi” and “Lay Low” are great Snoop songs.
Murder was the case still goes hard. Beat, flow and delivery.
Classics 💯 When I was 16 crashed my car, rode in an ambulance strapped to a gurney singing “murder was the case” along with my friend who rode with me on the way to the hospital. EMT’s probably hated our ass 😂
"No mo endo, gin and juice." Probably my favorite Snoop song.
Lodi Dodi is a cover of the Slick Rick song
The whole Doggystyle album is a work of art
Dr Dre 2001. One of the greatest rap albums ever. This song is just 1 of many awesome tracks on it. Keep their heads ringing from the Friday soundtrack is another quality Dre track.
MJB is the first R&B singer to sing on hardcore hip hop tracks. You might not be able to tell that from her current stuff but in the beginning she was in a class by herself.
Mjb and method man is one of the greatest song
Hence her title: Queen of Hip-Hop Soul
All the bobble heads...LMAO...I'm right there wit y'all.
I just assume every rap fan has heard this, makes me happy people are still discovering this masterpiece
It's fake, the guy in grey on the left started rapping along to the very first line of the song. They doing it for views
@@coltenn8785 so because one guy heard it means they're clout chasing? You're delusional.
@@coltenn8785 He also called it a classic at 0:40 right after someone said the name and a "classic classic classic" again at 1:50 when others said they don't know the song. He clearly admits he knows the song from the jump...
Dude! I grew up with this shit. I love it ^_^ Thanks for the throwback!
Been listening to Rap since the early/mid 90s and this is still my favorite rap song of all time to this day
I have this single bought it when i was 12 years old in the netherlands ❤🎉
What's crazy is Eminem wrote this whole song including Dr. Dre's verse ❤️🔥
Eminem wrote dre’s verses
Facts
How do the clowns presenting this not know/ clarify/ explain? Smh
Em wrote this entire song. He originally wrote it for Dre and Snoop, but Dre said he liked how Em sounded on the hook, and the rest is history. The Next Episode is my #1 all time favorite song. You guys still need to react to "Rap Game" from the 8 Mile soundtrack. Eminem, feat 50 Cent and D-12.
Also, not sure if you guys caught it, but during Hittman's verse, he says "highly intensive tounge talents making all nervous". That's what the H.I.T.T.M.A.N. stands for.
OMG!!! ONLY CD I EVER BOUGHT BESIDES BOB MARLEY!!! ❤❤❤❤
Sitting here, singing everywhere. Definitely miss this song and my back in the day music!!!
🔥🔥🔥🥰🥰😍😍😍
The choke you to death with a charleston chew line still gets me to this day 🤣 💥💥💥
Y’all are cracking me up! 😹😹 This song was off Dre’s 2001 Chronic album and I had just turned 16 got my first car a white convertible. We were bumping this rolling down the 405 thinking we were gansta. Instead it probably looked like a scene from White Chicks!!! LMAO
I still remember the day this cd dropped, anxiously waiting for my ride to pick me up early so we could go to the mall and grab it, then we went back and spent the entire afternoon just playing it on repeat. I'm almost 40, still know the lyrics to this one lol.
I like the friendly vibe......I like to see happy people just chilling........Keep it going!
This song is a banger. You got to do Em & Dre "guilty conscience" music vidoe now. That lil jab Em took at Will Smith lol.
But not clean guilty conscience 😂
@@ogdusan2080 clean guilty conscience is soo annoying
Dr.dre is the most important person in rap music history
Dre is just a pure musician. Period. Put him in a studio in front of a soundboard and he’s a genius.
one of my fave stims sometimes is the “nowadays everybody wanna talk..” like that whole bit flowssss
Glad to see young gunz showing love to the old heads... This song was unmatched when it came out.
Hearing you didnt know about Dre hurt my soul lol give him a listen he did discover Em. Much love and respect. Dre part of NWA started it all! Respect.
It started long before NWA.
I don't believe it tho
Omg they make me feel old they so young but these young people don’t know my generation grew up with all this it was fire 🔥
I can't believe there are people that only hear this kind of rap now. But then I'm thinking that was me hearing some 70's/80's classics in the 90s. Dre will always be the king
Mary J is the Queen of Hip-Hop and Soul and Aaliyah is the Princess of Hip-Hop and RnB...K Cole is talented, but talent only makes you good or maybe even great, but its impact that one made on the culture that makes them goated 💯
✨️Eminem wrote this song for Dre and Snoop on the hook, but Dre liked how Em sounded on it that he left it how it was.
My favorite bit in this song is:
"So, what do you say to somebody you hate (What?)
Or anyone tryna bring trouble your way?
Wanna resolve things in a bloodier way? (Yup)
Just study a tape of N.W.A"
Because I still have my cassette tape of NWA straight outta Compton from 1988. I love that he said study a tape of NWA, because cassettes were a big deal back then!
There are so many amazing references in this one song, like:
"Who you think brought you the oldies?
Eazy-E's, Ice Cubes, and D.O.C's
The Snoop D-O-double-G's
And the group that said, "Motherfuck the police"
I mean he really flexes on all the rap that he's brought to us over the decades! I do so love it when him and Eminem get together
Dre is an icon... one of the best of all time.. this is an amazing song..
I remember downloading it from Kazaa in early 2000s in Poland... I was on time in the east Europe... today i understand how impressive it actually is
Late 90s/early 200s rap/hip hop was some of the best ever
Solo , Em wrote Dre’s part, but Dre killed the delivery
Whole song was written by Em, and then Em gave it to Dre to help his album The Cronic 2001.
No way yall hadn't heard this jam? That whole album was the $hit!!!
This and “Guilty Conscience” were the first times we heard Eminem in mainstream play if I remember right
My name is was his breakout
Em wrote it, Dre delivered it!! Badass song.
This was one of Eminem's first songs out, this and Guilty Conscience. That's when the world starting knowing his name.
He blew up from My Name Is
I can remember having to go to my friends house to listen to NWA and 2Live Crew when we was kids , because my Gma would always try throwing my tapes in the trash lol miss them days !
I think it's cool how Dre adapted to Eminem for this one 🎵 🎶
you guys should live stream listening to the entire Chronic Album. You wanna hear Dre Rap? Man he was a PIONEER of rap.
It was so cool to have been a junior in high school when this album came out. EVERYBODY was bumping this.
I’ll go ahead and admit your my favorite reaction channel for awhile now. It’s just the way it is
This song, is the first time I actually paid attention to Eminem.
Dre had his part for sure, but the majority of credit goes to Em
This song and the watcher was written by eminem himself, both classics .
