I'm just new to Toto's music, impressive stuff indeed, now I know why Steve Lukather's name is so talked about. I always thought Michael Schenker was the above-all king of riffage and melodies, but now it's pretty much a tie between the two for #1. Would like to hear they both jamming together someday. Unpredictable licks and heart-melting melodies.

god I've just spent better part of 2 hrs. trolling thru all the youtube Toto concerts, tons of bootlegs, sound quality often not so great of a band with awesome sound. reading all the Luke comments: it's not just that he's a genius player, but the MATERIAL is so great & impeccably executed, the Toto package y'know. I've been passionate since the beginning, late '70's; I was in a local bar band & we covered 'Hold the Line' when the 1st album came out. I wanna thank everybody who's posting all these performances. Cheers.

I am a Toto fan for more than 20 years. I was happy with the last album. The energy that Keith and Steve P added to the incredible talents of Steve and David was like a breath of ( genius ) fresh air. Shannon just hasn’t that genuis drive. To slow, to oldschool. Good drummer, but no Toto level in my opinion. Watch some Keith C. videos ( Toto Japan ) and you will understand.

The camera is right where it should be :) In front of the one of the all-time greats Steve Lukather! Master of clean, crisp, and clear rhythms and soaring solos.

Bogner amps are very well made the frequency filtering is what allows his guitar to sit in the mix without overpowering the hi end and mids.

Great video man! I saw the show in western New York they always sound great... yes luke's sound is great on the video cus of the video placement must be as well as paich. They all sound great always and I dig Shannon he even moves his head and with his long hair almost seems like Jeff is there... however, he seems to sit back on the beat just enough to make it feel a bit sluggish which is getting pretty damn picky considering being able to see this lineup at this point in time...but the groove seems to lack that Jeff fire 🔥 he always had as the absolute best always seem to have that makes the live show so magical. Funny situation being Shannon is a true fan boy living out a dream come true knowing the tunes so many and going for the Jeff thing, and Keith Carlock embalancing that fire that gets me going with that undeniable pocket groove, he's less familiar with the material as in the complete years of the Toto lineup and eras etc... then sad that Simon is missing and what took me so long to truly appreciate his approach vintage Toto and of course all of Simon era Toto. Jeff, Simon, and Keith are as well amazing studio and live drummers, the big arena live shows are really hard to make happen with that true power and fortitude. Hard to explain and probably only a picky perfectionist musician could really hear to bitch about anyways 😀 but the example of the Shannon "drag"
is the tune Chinatown just is a tad slow that is really just where he plays and sits in the groove as well as his fatter drum sound, it just makes me feel antsy and I wonder if it bugs any of the band... it would drive me nuts to play this live. Ha everyone raves about Shannon as a person so it works for the band of course to tour with him in not hating by any means. Luke's solos are sick and he has that fire that has perfect forward motion energy that tends to cut off by the way Shannon is sitting on the groove as a whole as well as the entire bands groove to enable them to all really hit it. I'm honestly being very picky and I love Toto so much it's just my opinion and am so happy to have been able to have such an influence To my life and musicianship. Thank you Toto and for whoever made this video ❤️💜❤️💚💙

And I think Shannon`s movements and gestures are like that because he wants to be as close to Jeff as possible...

Tristan Greene I completely agree with your opinion on S Forrest. It's slow, so old school. I really don't understand him being a part of TOTO. It' s a Jeff cloon, a bad one. I was so happy with K Carlock on the last album, like a breath of fresh air.

And I agree with you Patrick Theunis, I think that Shannon isn't even a Jeff clone coz Jeff's kit sounded much better than this one. I miss the punches in Shannons drumplaying. And the bassplayer isn't a Nathan East nor the late Mike Porcaro.

I describe them to anyone who asks as a group of virtuosos who are a virtuoso as a group. So glad they're touring in the US again - got to see them in RI. I do miss Simon Phillips though - Keith and Shannon are great, but Simon is just that much better. His dynamic and nuanced style elevates the band even higher (IMHO).
