  • Understanding AMALEK: Israel's Arch-Enemy - with Rabbi Michael Skobac
There are numerous villains in the Bible, and Israel has many enemies. But among all of these, one nation stands out as Israel's arch-enemy. This diabolical people, Amalek, has a monstrous obsession with obliterating the Jewish people.
It began with Amalek launching a doomed suicide attack against the weak stragglers among the Israelites fleeing from Egypt after the Exodus. They didn't care if they would face destruction in the process, but they were intent on challenging the seeming invincibility of Israel.
In this lecture, Rabbi Michael Skobac explores the nature of Amalek's deep hatred of Israel and why God demanded that their memory be erased.

JEWS FOR JUDAISM is an outreach organization whose primary goal is to win back to Judaism those Jews who have been influenced by the following six threats to Jewish survival that are devastating the global Jewish community.
    1. Hebrew-Christian missionaries convert thousands of Jews worldwide every year
    2. Destructive cults cause many Jews to abandon family, friends and careers
    3. Eastern religions, Buddhism and Hinduism are spiritual choices for many Jews
    4. Apathy and ignorance leave many Jews unaware, unaffiliated and assimilated
    5. Intermarriage is exploding with a 75% rate in some North American cities
    6. Anti-Israel BDS on campus inhibits Jewish students from standing up for Israel and Judaism
To assist non-Jews who have left other religions, JEWS FOR JUDAISM also provides educational programs to help them embrace the Torah’s Seven Noachide Laws for Gentiles.
We achieve our goals through our worldwide Internet outreach, Social Media, free educational programs, educational literature and counseling services that connect Jewish people to the spiritual depth, beauty and wisdom of Judaism.
“I am so grateful to have discovered the wonderful Jews for Judaism TH-cam lectures by Rabbi Skobac. I am a Jew who converted to Christianity in college, but now, thanks to your online outreach, I have returned to Judaism. Thank you.” - Rebecca G.
In a nutshell, Jews for Judaism saves Jewish lives and keeps Jews Jewish.

Thank you Rabbi Skobac for this very important information. If we can only understand how it affects the whole world today. The war against God's Word is very real and serious. God bless.

Makes one wonder about certain people today and whether they are also descendents of Amalek.

Rabbi Skobac - who exactly are the peoples of Amalek? I have heard so many different things as I have studied. I want to know what Orthodox Judaism says about these people(s).

It's always hard for modern day people to understand why this degree of annihilation was necessary. This lecture fills in the gaps. Thank you Rabbi Skobac. Always enlightening. :o)

The Story of Amalek is the story of Two Brothers, Esau and Jacob, twin grandchildren of Isaac, son of Abraham.
Old and now blind, Jacob tricked his grandfather, Isaac, into believing he was Esau by putting on Esau's clothes and goat skins on his hands and neck to mimic Esau's hairy appearance into giving him, Jacob, the birthright blessing that should have gone to the firstborn son, Esau. After that, Esau hated Jacob and thought to himself, "My father will soon die, and I will be sad for him. Then I will kill Jacob." This hatred was passed down to his grandson Amalek, the father of the Amalekites.

Now I understood why Saul was commanded to utterly destroy Amalek (1 Samuel 15:3).

"Driven by irrational hatred". Are you so sure about it? How come thousands of nations, since bronze age, from africa to shores of artic, were driven by just "irrational hatred". I mean, does it at some point call for self-introspection ?

I am thinking that the people who ran Germany back in the 1930s and 40s must surely have been Amalek's as well?
Thank you for the video. Your insight is appreciated.
