the fact that this was a decade ago feel kinda weird, I'm glad that even though not many people used it at first, google glass has come to many people recently
They actually had repeaters on the roof of the building to maintain the signal with the jumpers. Live streaming video of what you are seeing is revolutionary! Imagine every traffic stop or police interaction on video!
Truly the most 'over the top' promo yet done! And somehow 'understated' at the same time. cool. I should know, as was part of many Microsoft launches over the decades.
man ! i can totally see the overinfinite amount of possibilities offered by this techjnology that will revolutionize our society and change the world forever : MORE POV PORN !
Ok, it's not just a crappy camera, it's an augmented reality display that's completely hands free. Personally, I'm exited for this, just a shame we have to wait two years until this is released.
I remember like yesterday how excited we were. But, ended up with a lot of frustration like a lot of other Google products ended. I think it was the most excited product of our near tech future. But, somehow Google could not maintain this while it has a lot of educated engineers and support of the crowded and excited tech world. It's a pity. I'd want to have one of them.
What tech would you consider useful? We have phones that combine ipods, computers, books, and a plethora of other things. Are those useless too? Or is it only useless when they're reformed into glasses for ease of access?
@@namratasrinivasa7568 it was my dream, didn't join, because it was not that big dream but love the vibe of Google so I concentrate more in my own company now. :)
Quick question is this the final price $1500 or would their be a price change later 2013-2014? Next question is I want to train someone in Martial Arts can I use your Google Glasses? can I take the risk and have no worries of my device being harmed? In a close quarter combat if I am able to ware them and they don't come off that easy, You have your self a product well worth it other wise I guess I would wait for the next prototype.
If you're doing A/V work you go with Apple. If you want to tweak things you go with Microsoft. If you want to completely customize and control you go with Unix type systems.
Currently with my smartphone I can only set time reminders but with glass I'll be able to set reminders based on facial recognition. My productivity will be boosted
Google apparently is going to have a spec. for frames that are compatible with the Glass module. So basically you buy a "Glass compatible" frame, get it fitted with prescription lenses as you would normally, and then Glass goes right on it.
While those features may be even greater than the Hangout connection, the point being made is that Google Glass will make the luxury of high tech gadgetry into a commodity. But Google doesn't just make it neat commodities, Google integrates products into people's lives. It's not a solution in search of a problem. So this is a great demonstration, if you can appreciate the significance.
To all skeptics: This device will function like a smart phone when it's finished. This is an early prototype merely demonstrating one of the many future functions of the glasses.
I don't think its gonna be a problem. Cameras are getting better and better every years. The only down side I saw here was the lag but on the other side , they were streaming about 10 live feed + more shit, need tons of bandwith for that.
so would it be possible to wear google glass even though i allready have to wear a pair of glasses because im short sighted? i can imagine itll be like wearing 3d glasses in the movies on top of my glasses: pretty uncomfortable and looking stupid. alternatively i thought maybe itll be possible to integrate my glasses into the frame of the google glass device... probably very expensive though.
I've seen current heads up display technology and it's not too impressive and requires actual buttons. So I'm curious as to how the HUD technology will be like. Considering without it, it's just a camera on glasses that is connected to google+.
There was a movie with that kind of idea. Can't recall the name of it for the life of me though. Was a 90s movie. Basically it went beyond homemade porn and you could actually have your brain respond to how the person who recorded it behaved. Pleasure, fear, anxiety, etc would be transmitted as well. Was an interesting concept and kind of a potential look to the future of these kinds of tech :).
Well, this isn't the only video of Google glasses! We HAVE seen the 'search the internet' or 'yelp places' feature with the glasses and this is just another aspect. I hadn't even thought about this before..its more than just attaching a camera to your head! It makes it available for more people at a social networking level-Be at the wedding you couldn't fly to, be in the middle of a protest in Egyptian -in real time, jeez-now your friends can really show you what you look like coming..and going
One of the most breathtaking live demos I have ever seen. Well done all involved.
The product was way ahead of its time.
the fact that this was a decade ago feel kinda weird, I'm glad that even though not many people used it at first, google glass has come to many people recently
It was simply amazing...best video ever seen!!!
These Googlers are just amazing...I wanna be one of them :)

This is an amazing tech demo! Brilliant way of showing how cool Google and Glass is!

MORE POV PORN !
Imagine using Glass for paintball teams.. live tactics and great overview!
It's not only a camera, but they did only show that aspect of it in the demo.
11 Years later, i’m watching this through my Apple Vision Pro.😂
What an entrance. Truly one of a kind. I mean a laptop in a manilla envelope is not a small feat, but Sergey nails this one.
Who’s watching in 2022?
yes
I'm watching it in 2024.
No, it isn't. It's being broadcast over a 3G connection.
"Don't Try This At Home" Dafuq does he think i'm Phineas & Ferb?
Alphabet's legal department would have reminded him to say that
Will we ever see these things again?
And now, we have Apple Vision Pro. What a journey, man!
bizarre
Best Tech Unveil EVER
most comments are 3 or 4 years ago, guess people do forget about this product
I didn't, I've been waiting patiently for this garbage to fail.
that's because they delete the ridiculing comments
Yeah shame lol
Ok, it's not just a crappy camera, it's an augmented reality display that's completely hands free. Personally, I'm exited for this, just a shame we have to wait two years until this is released.
Wireless GoPro or Apple FaceTime is real, here today, and works! And everybody can afford it!

Who waching 2021...?
well not me
I'm looking at you through the glass.. don't know how much time has passed.
You can tell that this seemed way cooler in their heads than when it actually happened. How contrived and awkward...
It was actually cool in execution as well.
Can I use it at school?
well camera needs to improve but aside from that i cant wait :D
I started thinking about him the first second I saw him. Him wearing glass and being on a big stage made it even better.
8:42 YAHOO!
What tech would you consider useful?
We have phones that combine ipods, computers, books, and a plethora of other things. Are those useless too? Or is it only useless when they're reformed into glasses for ease of access?
He reminds me of Tony Stark
How much will it cost?
I am so fucking dying to join Google, hhahaha, one of my dream jobs :)
did you ever join google?
@@namratasrinivasa7568 it was my dream, didn't join, because it was not that big dream but love the vibe of Google so I concentrate more in my own company now. :)
@@YhalHtetAung let me join your company
I agree. But the commercials make it seem like it's high quality/high fps streaming. Blatant lie.
wonder how much it will cost
You can also take a camera and hold it?
i wonder how much they will cost when it does finally be released...

Does glass come in different sizes?
Are these on sale ?
How is this better than a video, which we already have?
THAT is how you present a new product. Awesome!
If you're doing A/V work you go with Apple. If you want to tweak things you go with Microsoft. If you want to completely customize and control you go with Unix type systems.
How do you think this demo could get any cooler?
Seriously, how much is it ?
it's not just that, and what was impressive was that it was live stream.
I am very exited to watch the video. In deed, the glass is very innovative.
When it is coming to India
I think they're working on add ons ? Or working them into your prescriptions.
Currently with my smartphone I can only set time reminders but with glass I'll be able to set reminders based on facial recognition. My productivity will be boosted
Where can I get them?
Google apparently is going to have a spec. for frames that are compatible with the Glass module. So basically you buy a "Glass compatible" frame, get it fitted with prescription lenses as you would normally, and then Glass goes right on it.
it is with 3g connection??
Technology displayed at it finest. Can't wait to mine.
does it show peoples power level?
Is it only a camera?
While those features may be even greater than the Hangout connection, the point being made is that Google Glass will make the luxury of high tech gadgetry into a commodity.
But Google doesn't just make it neat commodities, Google integrates products into people's lives. It's not a solution in search of a problem.

Can someone tell me, if I can only see with my left eye, will I be able to use these glasses?
What if we already have glasses on? do we have to wear two glasses?
To all skeptics: This device will function like a smart phone when it's finished. This is an early prototype merely demonstrating one of the many future functions of the glasses.
Google were ahead of their time. Apple Vision Pro have price tag 3x than GX. Full circle lool
their project is demo'd through skydiving, extreme biking, and fucking rappling down a building..now that's a fucking presentation. you GO google!
soooooo, it's essentially the camera i already have on my phone, only now i can awkwardly strap it to my head.... amazing -_-
I don't think its gonna be a problem. Cameras are getting better and better every years. The only down side I saw here was the lag but on the other side , they were streaming about 10 live feed + more shit, need tons of bandwith for that.
cool..did they get this idea from the dragonball cartoons.?.
The one thing you have to remember this is in the alpha stage, most likely it will be 2 years before it actually hits the market.
Do they run on facebook?
what does google glass do?
they should bring google glass back.
Why did he have a go pro on him? and was the go pro connected to the glasses ?
It doesn't show ads
Where is the rest of this?
Love the guy's reaction at the end...NAILED IT!!
google will be the greatest company of all time
this is pretty bold cause you never know if there might be an accident and this is all live
is there a security function that prevents other people from using it? How do I stop someone from stealing it off my head at gun point?
so would it be possible to wear google glass even though i allready have to wear a pair of glasses because im short sighted? i can imagine itll be like wearing 3d glasses in the movies on top of my glasses: pretty uncomfortable and looking stupid. alternatively i thought maybe itll be possible to integrate my glasses into the frame of the google glass device... probably very expensive though.
WILL YOU HAVE A LEFT EYE VERSION! Im kinda semi-blind in my right eye so having it on my left eye would be better.
is the camera in hd?
What wireless carrier powers Glass? What wireless company did they partner with?
Any articles to prove that?
I've seen current heads up display technology and it's not too impressive and requires actual buttons. So I'm curious as to how the HUD technology will be like. Considering without it, it's just a camera on glasses that is connected to google+.
arent these potential situations the same as those that are currently involved with cellphones??
There was a movie with that kind of idea. Can't recall the name of it for the life of me though. Was a 90s movie.
Basically it went beyond homemade porn and you could actually have your brain respond to how the person who recorded it behaved. Pleasure, fear, anxiety, etc would be transmitted as well.
Was an interesting concept and kind of a potential look to the future of these kinds of tech :).
were can i get a pair of these
How did they get the Internet connectivity up in the air!
You got it with free viruses?
it's gonna effect on eyes???????
what kind of bikes are those?
Why is the video laggy ?
how is this different than a smaller version of a typical head mounted camera?
One minute of this video was about Google Glass, and nine minutes were about extreme sports.
And you can set Google Calendar to pull that ripcord for you, right?
this is what we call innovation ...gr8 job....
Curious to what the heads-up display looks like...
How do they have internet up there?
So camera stuck on glasses and might not work properly....
Well, this isn't the only video of Google glasses! We HAVE seen the 'search the internet' or 'yelp places' feature with the glasses and this is just another aspect. Just an idea: what if the glass came with a bracelet-like device which houses the camera for videocalls?
ну что ж, буду ждать продажи, только вот одно интересно: как Google Glass будет переведено на русский язык? Гугл очки?
