    PLEASE UPVOTE THIS COMMENT 🙏
    It would be amazing if you shared GENERAL TACTICS when fighting. For example:
    - Use the jab to test range.
    - Flinch/Fake-out to gauge response.
    - Set patterns before breaking them.
    - Tag hard to earn respect from pressure fighter. (Got that one from you 😁).
    - Analyze stance: Heavy lead foot = Puncher. Active lead foot = Lead kicker. Narrow stance = Good mobility. Side/Sport Karate stance = In/Out attack preference and compensates for lack of lateral movement with spinning attacks. Etc...
    Please share a video of how one can better understand/analyze their opponent as quickly as possible. I'm no champ, so I'm certain your list will be far more comprehensive and more accurate.
    Thank you so much for the excellent content. Please, please keep it up. 💪😎

As 6'7 and weighing around 190lbs i might consider not to worry about getting that head out of the way throwing long punches but if i miss snd not move my head with it and they dont and move their head i am getting nailed plus the are in my space getting leverage over me. I have one question. I know side kicks aren’t very common in MMA or even kick boxing but if you were to fight a Wonderboy or a Raymond Daniels type and tried to catch one, would it be similar to the front kick catch you showed here? Or is there another way?

    • @GabrielVargaOfficial

    Hi Gabriel really enjoying watching your videos and you sharing your knowledge.
    I just saw your fight at Glory 17 against Sitmonchai and I saw a doublejab overhand right combo that really looked nasty and damaging in round 2 in slowmo.
    Somehow neither in my previous Boxing Club nor in my Thaibox Gym this technique was taught to us. I have seen this technique often in MMA (glove size matters in this technique?) but rather rare in Kickboxing. Could you please do a video on how to properly throw a overhand right/left and how to implement that in a combo and also maybe how to practise it on mitts/pads/punching bag?
    I really think this is a powerful punch and would like to learn it. Thank you and greetings from Bottrop, Germany!

    • @GabrielVargaOfficial
      @GabrielVargaOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As you said I don't believe power is the key. Some of the best fighters in the world don't hit crazy hard. But they can land.

    • @GabrielVargaOfficial
      @GabrielVargaOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a pretty big difference. I started noting I couldn't dominate opponents when I got into K-1, GLORY, etc. State or country wide was quite a bit easier. Of course there are good people in the country as well but the likely hood of getting matched against them is small.
      When you start fighting people from overseas you are generally fighting the best from a country.

      I train under josh jauncey and his dad but could not get his brother because he does it right in the afternoon where a working person cannot train... I want to know is it normal that you can't train with your coach after dang class? i have done karate, bjj, boxing and a few crummy places i should not of went to but you could come in and ask the coach to show you a proper jab or kick or how to do a new kick when they were not busy... where I been i was told i have to pay 100 dollars an hour to get 1 on 1 when in reality i just want to ask my coach for 5 minute pointers, assist me on the bag... and i went and hit the bag hoping i could work with the coach but in all the time there they never came up to me once to give me pointers and instead get criticized by people i don't train know for making mistakes that could of been pointed out.. it sucks.. is this normal? because I have had i think only two good coaches my whole life that would put in the time and i have never had this issue when i stressed i needed extra help or made mistakes in front of the coach... i do not want to down play these coaches who produced a fine fighter and the father a champion but these people who are seriously being trained I have not seen them once since i been there since summer and I feel like the good people don't even train there or they take the regulars seriously... no offense to them but i really don't see it and feel it and i feel like my son who is 5 is also seeing this... i am serious as can be and man it's been hard... had two friends i came with actually leave because they did not feel it either in classes and could not get anything out of classes and were shocked when josh told us we had to pay 100$ for sessions when we just wanted some extra pointers... is this normal or am i being too much? my dad who fought 10 years and trained for 20 years told me when you pay a coach as much as you do today you should get the same dedication you did then... and that you don't have to be some star pupil for it either.. but he did say when you deal with people who think they are too good, their egos are too high.. that you often will get poor quality from them unless they think you are worth something to them.

      It's hard to say. The Jauncey family are good people. I do like giving pointers to students after class, however I'm only teaching a small number of classes per week with an invite only program.
      If I had a full gym and lots of people asking for tips after class I might have to start saying "book a private session". Just because if you start giving 5 minutes here and there to 10-20 people a day you're going to have no time.
      What you should be getting is lots of good tips during class. That's what that 60-90 minutes is for.
      Just my opinion.

    That's some straight up CMD defense from Rodney King, it's interesting to see people using it in fights, but it can get you into trouble if you rely on it too much.
