@@kenrudd6362 nah. The Emperor himself did far greater sacrifice. His afterlife is torture beyond anything we can imagine, isnt it? Yet he still keep fighting for humanity for thousands years together with his patrials just to slow down the inevitable doom of the Imperium and human race. Actually he will not even give his forgiveness to those poor bastards if he would think they will be less effective after it. Kriegs guardsman: Where am i The Emperor: My halls Kriegs Guardsman: Was i a good Guardsman The Emperor taking of the guardsmans mask to see the battle scarred face under it: I was told you where the best
It’s more of the scarred face and sad eyes of a war torn child because the average age of Krieg guardsmen is 15. They’re children some of the most badass children but still children. I think The Emperor would say something along the lines of :you can rest now young one you’ve fought hard far harder than someone you’re age should ever have to. Krieg guardsmen: But what about the debt I still have to repay you my tainted linage. Emperor: Child there’s no debt to be repaid here. No child should have to be punished for the sins of those came before them. *embraces the child as the guardsmen lets lose a few tears* it is okay young one you can rest now as you now join the rest of your fallen brothers and sisters.
@Devin schotanus you say they are most of them 15, and they are as adults, so that mean if you feed them correctly and let live longer than "normali" they must at least be 2 meter tall. Now just imagine those Guy with equipement adapt for them and how they would be. they would be a low cost version of space marine without their super amor. I think it would a good trade for the imperium to let the people of krieg live longer and better.
On the first day of Krieg training you are taught three things. 1. If you step on a landmine, then congrats. You just disarmed a landmine. 2. If you get shot, then congrats. You just protected the man behind you. 3. If you die, then congrats. You just joined the sandbag division.
@@ominouslatinnoun9939 Then you were knocked back, you didn't step back. See: Rule 1: If you get shot/hit, then congrats, you just protected the man behind you.
I remember when i was wishing for it 2 years ago and people went "Stop it, he doesn't do demands" lol It's my favorite IG regiment and worthy of an original song. Of course he never fails to deliver
Damn this song really tells a good story. This is not the heroic last stand of the Cadian Regiments, this is not the glory of the Adeptus Astartes and it is not the prometheum-fueled faith of the Adepta Sororitas... this is just blind carnage, unneeded destruction and death... this is the Death Korps of Krieg.
The Death Korps serve as the sobering reminder that behind all of the tales of glory and honor, the 40k universe is one of war. And war is hell. It's not about honor. It's not about vengeance or justice. It's just about surviving one more day. One more day before you can go home. One more day before the nightmare ends.
It's crazy to think that the Death Korps of Krieg are so desensitised to war and death that they are the ONLY regiment in the Imperium where the Commissars' only role in the regiment is to STOP the infantry from running into suicidal odds.
This isn't what I expected when I saw Krieg, I expect heavy metal, blasting my ears to the tee while screaming about blind courage, I couldn't have been more wrong, orchestral with a slight mix of metal. At first, when I began to listen I felt confused, almost a bit angry as I have been waiting for a DKoK song for ages, but slowly it began to make sense. Slowly more and more the lyrics hit me as I listened, about a minute in was all I needed to understand, this isn't about blind courage, about a funny man in a gasmask beating a bloodthirster to death with a shovel, bombing chaos to hell. This is about Krieg, this is about it all. This is what it is to be a Krieger, the truth that once more they can not fail the emperor like they had, to sacrifice themselves to earn even what they believe to be the smallest sliver of the Emperor's forgiveness. Someone posted on a previous video talking about what he called "The StringStorm Effect" Which I agree with. At first, you don't realize then slowly the more you listen; it makes sense, and it couldn't be more perfect then what was portrayed in what I can only describe as art. Edit: Found out who it was, refrigeraptor on Months of Shame, legend.
I went through the same thing and now I want to collect krieg to tell a story of a regiment slowly dying never believing they were worthy of the emperors love when there one of the few which are to tell the story of the tragedy of being krieg
Wont lie first time I heard months of shame I didn't like it. But I found myself playing it over and over Somthing about the space wolf lines have such conviction made the song addicting to me
To quote Boldermort; "Should the Emperor wake and rise from the Golden Throne, he could bring the entire people of Krieg to their knees, to destruction, by simply saying three words." "I forgive you."
Another quote from Boldermort: if the emperor would shed a tear for every time his will for humanity was undone, he would shed one of the most bitter tears for this tragedy.
Administratum: "Planet Krieg, you owe a tithe of 1 Imperial Guard regiment..." Krieg: "We have 10 ready now and another 10 due for activation next month, take it or leave it. Actually, you do not get the 'leave it' option."
Actually that's in the lore, when Krieg was requested to raise one Regiment of Guardsmen for testing they had already raised 20 fully equipped and ready for deployment.
Krieg is a one of the most fascinating planets in 40K lore, but I really don't think people appreciate how twisted, fucked up and tragic it is. The entire planet feels like it has to pay for crimes that their ancestors didn't commit. Their ancestors are the ones that stayed loyal and resisted the traitors for generation after generation, but they still think they have to atone for something. I just think a few too many people think Kreig guardsmen are awesome without appreciating just how sad and wrong they are. They deserve to be just as proud of themselves as Cadians.
This isn’t a song of Krieg patriotism, it’s a reminder a Kriegsman of what he must do to become clean. Dark, brutally honest, and all knowing of what happens. This is the Krieg way.
Krieg is for the insane and inhumane psychopath's, Aka Kreig are the best guardsmen to have. Unless your a commissar, Since they mostly end up getting shot for being cowards.
I can only imagine a krieg guardsman acepting that his time has finally came, as he lays down on the filthy battlefield he looks at the sky muttering under his mask: ''Am I forgiven? Did I find redemption at last?'' Really good song StringStorm, it really captures what the Death Korps of Krieg is
No Kriegsman has ever fallen to the forces of Chaos. For what drives them is beyond the emotions that any of them encompass. Not rage, not lust, not hope or despair. A Kriegsman is driven by shame. And it is in that shame that they find their redemption.
>Play Battlefield 1 >Get Passchendaele >Be german >Choose assault >Put on gasmask, MP-18 with a bayonet in your hands and shovel as a melee >Never retreat, always advance, bayonet charge whenever possible. >Die... a lot >11/10 Krieg experience
I do this, and it's amusing how often I scare the shit out of people on the off chance they fail to kill me, because suddenly they see a black-clad, gasmask wearing psycho literally running through an artillery barrage, before stabbing them to death with their bayonet. The sheer fucking terror in their aim spray is incredible.
@@AbyssWatcher745 A common mistake is to think that the Death Korps of Krieg are more elite forces than the regular Imperial Guard soldier although in fact they do not have as good training as for example Cadian Shock Trooper. What they do have that sets them apart from any other common Guardsman is their quasi-suicidal fervor and the fact that the only way to make a withdrawal is because they killed almost 99% of their forces. The DCK are cannon fodder, not elite troops, they are the best cannon fodder in the entire Imperium, though. Their tactics favor this as they specialize in a 1WW fighting style, attacks and massive artillery bombardments followed by massive infantry charges all to beat the enemy in a war of attrition. So in summary, a common Guardsman could beat a Krieg in combat but the match would not end until the Krieg was completely dead on the ground.
Imagine a Krieg trooper who somehow managed to become fully immortal. On one hand, he can sacrifice an unlimited amount of heretics to the emperor, but he can't seek the redemption he's fighting for. Now that would be a real bitchslap from life, but he'd probably find some good in it.
This Krieger won't be able to feel the Emperor's warmth nor the sweet release of death but it will fight till the Emperor stops him and accepts it. It will fight without mercy cause it cannot die and until it can close it's eyes without waking up again it will punish the heretics and kill the xenos. It won't find love cause it is fighting and it will never stop. This isn't a man nor a woman cause this, this is the Death Korps of Krieg
I imagine Krieg as being like Cadia. A world that even the Chaos forces avoid because it'd be impossible to take. First you have to deal with the regular Krieg forces on the planet...then the new recruits that they'll definetly tell that this is part of their training regimen and then, possibly worst of all, they'd have ot deal with all of the "failures". Those guardsmen that were pulled off the frontlines because they had the misfortune to get a grievous injury instead of dying. They'd know that this is their best chance to get to meet Big E and wouldn't do to do so without bringing him some presents.
Well, the World Eaters got some men on Catachan eaten by the local wildlife, and when the Iron Warriors tried to invade Tallarn they had to retreat under threat of annihilation. So hitting the wrong IG garrison world can mess up even a chaos legion.
“Child of my enemy, why have you come? I offer no forgiveness of fathers’ sins cast to his son.” One day the emperor will appear to the Krieg and forgive them. Tell them how much he loves them, how proud he is of them.
But wouldnt. it shatter them? just imagine a life of devotion to one goal and sudently it disapears and is decleared worthless/acomplished? i dont htink Big E would not foresee this. So he lets them in this sad state becuae he has to. Even if it hurts him, he cant take awy from the kriegers
I remember the day my Primarch, Roboute Guilliman, asked me a question about the Kriegsman. It was a mundane question, one he could have even guessed the answer to. The question itself birthed a litany of other questions and a single teared statement. "Why do they wear the masks?" I turned my head to meet his eyes and I wondered at the question, he meant it literally, he didn't know what they were, rare that my Primarch would be ignorant of anything, especially history. "They are the Death Korps of Krieg, they always wear them, their homeworld has a toxic atmosphere." My Primarch nodded, I could still see in his expression that another curiosity lingered, and then he gave words to the emotion. "They never remove them? Why? This atmosphere isn't toxic." Instead of answering I shook my head at the ground, it was a tragic tale, gifting their history any thoughts would bring most to their knees, even Space Marines. "Kriegsman believe that their war, their duty, is everlasting. They think that they need to be ready to fulfill the Emperor's will at any moment. They're not so equipped for war as they are equipped for their own death, to slow their impending doom so they might give the Emperor more use, no matter how miniscule it is, they will give it gladly. It's how their entire planet is." His eyes tracked mine and maybe he saw my internal agony, I had weathered a thousand battles, but I had never relayed the history of Krieg, the history of their heresy. "Their entire planet, is like this? Grim, inhuman, emotionless... soulless? Why?" I wanted to refuse to answer his questions, but I couldn't. "The sons of Krieg are not as you say, not soulless, they live their lives for the Emperor. I once visited Krieg, the planet was a hellscape. A hellscape devoid of the Emperor's grace and beauty, it was a place where the Emperor's Peace would be refused by its populace, they would believe that their own lives were worth less than the mercy of death. Most of these soldiers are children, sons fighting so the war their father's waged might be forgiven." The words did not strike true with the Primarch, there were still questions unanswered, a history he did not understand. So I told him of the beginning, the treachery of Krieg's highlords. The resistance that sprouted from Colonel Jurten, his cry for help that went unheard into the darkness, and then his headlong charge into the jaws of death, his faith in the Emperor alone guiding him. I told him of the war, the brutal unyielding war that never ended. The generational trenches that spread across the entirety of Krieg, the dried ocens that turned into fields of lasgun fire and artillery barrages. The genetically enhanced beasts that carried faithful soldiers into the fray of the heaviest combat, equipped to die, never to survive. "Five hundred years, Krieg fought for five hundred years in unending war. Jurten's own forces were all dead before the end of the first decade but Krieg's sons and daughters bred a new army. An army that marched over the luscious fields that once existed and left war in their wake. They finally won the war after trillions had been killed, returned to the fold, and greeted the Imperium with heavy hearts." My heart was caught in my words, it was agonizing to relay it, to say the truth. "They believe that they are the arch traitors, the betrayers, the worst of heretics, that theirs is a lineage of the unfaithful, their blood is the blood of heathens. The people of Krieg believe it is their duty to atone, for eternity, for their crimes. They produce nothing, they build nothing, but they have their sons. The sons they throw away, because traitors deserve to die. Ever since they returned to the Imperium they have given everything away freely. To them every Krieger, every child soldier they send into the boiling heat of battle, deserves only death. When they die, they only see a number lost, equipment to scavenge, a heretic dead. They will continue to atone for crimes that weren't even their own, and they will do it without question, forever. They can never be forgiven, they *know* this is as a fact. Yet I have heard them in their dying breaths, all of them, begging for the Emperor's forgiveness." I felt the tears roll down my cheeks, the faith of the lowliest Kriegsman could test that of even the hardest Astartes, their souls beget only agony. "That's not true." My Primarch spoke, overcome with grief I had somehow forgotten his presence, turning to him in his pause I could see the only tear to ever be produced by Roboute Guilliman fall from his glistening eyes. "I know my Father's heart well, they were forgiven long ago. They achieved atonement, five hundred years worth."
"I wanted to detach Krieg from the usual glorious-ness of 40k!" You understand EXACTLY what the Death Korps of Krieg is about. You want Glory that's Vostroyan Firstborn, you want Fury that is the Tallarn, You want Courage that is the Cadians, you want Bodies... then you call the Korps.
"I am expendable, a tool for His plans. To kill as is needed, and to die as He demands." I want an animation with no background soundtrack, save for the sounds of the Kriegers marching, gunfire, explosions, and the occasional body dropping, as those who yet live chant this as they march.
I want a version of this where there is only background sounds from a battle and a choir singing it and as the song goes on fewer and fewer people are singing. Then it ends in 5 seconds of complete silence.
@@addisonwelsh My rough estimation is that the moment the deathkorps are forgiven by big E, they will go absolutely apeshit and chaos will realize that they fucked up big time in letting that happen.
"To march unto death and darkness, When one is born in darkness, Is to meet one's life and duty, So much more is there when emerged to the light, You meet both monster and hero." -Tundra Terra I'd like your thoughts on my poem.
Krieg. The world of greater devotion than the Adepta Sororitas, of more will than the Imperial Fists. Where logistics rule the warline, where a soldier will sacrifice his life simply to throw equipment that is marginally more valuable, where every life is utterly, absolutely dedicated to the singular goal of war, to act as a production system to serve the Emperor. Greater guilt than the Dark Ravens, but rather than cover it and bleed those that find it, they bleed themselves. They are fuel, tools, a log thrown into an engine. They think nothing but how best to further the Imperium. Not a soul corrupted, not one man's intent changed. Only pure faith and fire and steel and, of course, war. This is not the men and women who bravely charge despite their fears of Cadia, where nobility means nothing, here all that matters is how much you can sacrifice. It is the embodiment of the phrase only war. It is a world that is expressed entirely by logistics.
Imagine an imperium where every citizen and guardsmen is as loyal and fanatical as the DeathKorps. Hell Chaos would probably close the rifts by themself to keep the angry shovelswingers out of the warp.
More like: a new chaos god of shame and despair would be born and totally crush the four others then turn the warp into a gloomy, still place. Peace for sure, but not the kind to be enjoyed...
This is incredible. The instruments, the vocals, the production, tone, gravity, and good God the heavy lyrics. Your description was absolutely right, this is not the usual glorifying treatment that Krieg gets. This is gloomy, strong and hard hitting, an honest masterpiece.
I actually have a Death Korps OC I use for stories and role playing who’s almost an old man. He’s in his late 50’s, specifically. He’s been in many near death situations, but hasn’t died (even temporarily), and is beginning to question if he can be redeemed at all. In short this song hit me incredibly hard. Legit cried. If all Imperial Souls go to the emperor when they die... and if he finally becomes a Chaos God. Does that mean that basically all of his demons will be the Kriegsmen?
@@kenny7080 Funny? No, I think that would be terrifying. Imagine, a portal to the Warp opening up, and disgorging an endless horde of what is obviously humans. But humans in form only. They shout no battlecries. They ignore it when the one next to them has their head blown open like a melon by a sniper round, or being vaporized by the green lightning of a gauss cannon. They don't cry out in pain when limbs are severed or blown off. The only thing close to an utterance is the constant breathing from behind the gas masks that are no longer metaphorical faces, but literal ones. When they're charged by a Howling Banshee or a Khornate Berserker, they wordlessy overwhelm them not in a display of finesse or overwhelming might, but in a zombie-like swarm of bayonets, shovels, and fists. When confronted with heavy armor, they wordlessly pull out melta grenades and advance. Constantly moving forwards. Slaughtering anything that is not of the Imperium. And when the Warp pulls them back to the Emperor's side, enemy and ally alike are still haunted by the sound of heavy breaths from behind black-lensed masks.
This is one of the personifications of “Grimdarkness.” An entire planet and its civilians bred for war to earn the forgiveness of someone that doesn’t even know they exist because of the sins of their ancestors... This is captured perfectly. STRONGstorm perfectly captures the tone, self-deprecation, bravery(or, lack thereof), and self-denial of the Krieg korps. Funnily enough they’re based on the hopelessness of WWI, including their gear. Specifically Germans. Especially the Germans, actually, since they bare an Iron Cross and also call themselves “Krieg” which means “War” in German, I believe.
The base on German Soldiers of WW1 is even heavier when you consider that today it's just common that everyone thinks Germans were the bad guys of it. They started it just like WW2, they were the evil ones. Which is not true. Germany didn't simply decided one day "oh hey i'm gonna go to war against everyone." the whole situation escalated between several countries until it boiled down to war. The aftermath was just that Germany lost the most out of this war and they got the blame for it.
Aw man... This captures one of the most iconic Guard Regiments in all their greatness. Truly, well done.. The raspy voice is just a perfect match. Out of curiosity, I don't suppose you could post the lyrics in the description or perhaps in a comment to your videos? It would help a lot, at least so I find.
Actually, in Krieg regiments, the Commissars are there to PREVENT needless casualties and to stop them from hurling themselves pointlessly into entrenched positions in order to satisfy their massive hardon for martyrdom
My thoughts on certain lines: “I am disillusioned” this is somewhat ironic, because, in fact, the Kriegers do not see reality, they see the galaxy worse than it is. “We stride to hell unflinching” honestly, I can see regiments of Kriegers marching through Commoragh, not flinching, firing at all who oppose them, not tempted by Chaos. The Kriegers are not human in their attitude. They are, mentally, the perfect soldier for large armies. They see themselves as pawns and are incorruptible. If you offered them a life of luxury, they would say that they would rather die for the Emperor. Edit: “No tales of valiance, of courage over fear” this is probably because the Kriegers seem incredibly valiant, even if they are unaware of it. The reason there are no stories of courage over fear is because they have no fear to begin with. But, as commented, there is a difference between being valiant and being suicidally loyal.
The Death Korps of Krieg Unaugmented Humans, yet they make Chaos Space Marine Run Risen for war and destruction, yet never succumbed to Khorne or any other Chaos Force Fanatical Loyal, yet cold and logical on the Battlefield Emperor Bless each and everyone one of them as they are Our Salvation in ever darker growing war surrounding us
I feel like the spartan quote: "If you accomplish nothing, at least you'll have blunted the enemies weapon" but in Kriegs case: Wasted one enemy bullet would summarize their kind of fighting
Its hard to imagine the idea alone of the Death Korps, much be apart of them. Think about it, taught from the beginning to feel guilty of the crimes of your forefathers and the only way to pay penance is to give your life "in hopes millions may earn a scrap of His forgiveness." To go above abd beyond what is expected is one thing, but to have complete and utter diaregard for your safety while doing so, it is a rare thing nowadays, but the Korps are taught it from the beginning. Id imagine the Emperor does forgive them, and much more.
WHAT WE ARE TAUGHT WE ARE NOT WORTH OF FORGIVENCE UNTIL DEATH WHEN WE ARE ALIVE WE ARE ONLY WORTHY OF PENANCE PRESENT UR SELF TO WHAT EVER COMMISARE WE HAVENT KILLED RIGHT NOW

I'm guessing that that's an intentional reference. Games workshop often let's themselves be inspired by history. Necrons for example are based on parts of ancient Egyptian history and culture as well.
Same here. Would have ended in the trenches as well, when born at that time. As a young, healthy male... High chances getting into that grinding mill of Western Front... as it is demanded
The Death Korps' aesthetics (uniforms, vehicles, artillery pieces) are inspired from the Great War. Helmet is a mix between the Stahlhelm and the Casque Adrian. Gasmask is British/Amercian. Trenchcoat is German/French. The Lasgun is inspired from the Kar98k. The Death Riders and their officers are a shout out to the French Cuirassiers. Same with the combat doctrine : attrition warfare. Dig a trench, soften the enemy's positions with artillery barrages and taking them, whatever it takes. It's pretty much the same for every IG Regiment : - Cadians are a mix between our modern armies, Colonial Marines and the Canadians Shock Troops from WW1. - Catachans are Vietnam War Americans and Australians mixed with Rambo's workout. - Armageddon Steel Legion = Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions - Mordian Iron Guard = XIX Century Prussians. - Praetorian Guard = Colonial British Army. - Elysian Drop Troops = French Paratroopers (they even have a bullpup lasgun to mimic our FAMAS) - Harakoni Warhawks = American Paratroopers. - Phantine Air Corps = Space Battle of Britain. - Phantine Skyborne = Space British SAS. - Dieprian Mountain Men = Italian Alpini Corps. - Vostroyan Firstborn = Space Cossacks. - Valhallan Ice Warriors = inspired from the Red Army. They even have the infamous human waves tactics. Cranked to 22 with Kubrik Chenkov and his Tundra Wolves. - Attilan Rough Riders = Space Huns. Another list of Regiments : i.imgur.com/4cowXzP.jpg and 1d4chan.org/images/b/b3/Guard_Regiments_2.jpg Take a look at their uniforms. One way or another, they're inspired from passed or present armies.

A world that found redemption through a planet's dying lungs, That witnessed all the fire that blotted out the sun, Through the Purge could it begin to be undone, What they had done. There is no glory or greatness found here, No tales of valiance or of courage over fear. This is the fate of the deserving warzone fodder, Those born with sin and live without honor. By every passing day, The ranks grow ever thinner; This is as is should be. Here, corpes are the winners. Survival of the fittest, Our deaths have been assigned- And I choose mine. I inherit sins from those who came before, Our cursed bloodlines, Tainted to the core, From this dead world, The lessons we have learned: There exists salvation in the cogs and bolts of war, I know nothing of the trenches I am to die on, Nothing of the causes that I'm to fight for, Only that redemption lies in breaking opposition, I'll never pause in obtaining exoneration! Not like the masses who live their live in gain, I am disillusioned, Arms wide open, We embrace our fate, My life first absolution, We stride to hell unflinching, We do not hesitate, No survival instincts; Only faith, innate, Through our pile of corpses, Triumph we shall gain, While our cannons rain fire, Make the earth quake, Marching to the trenches, Then charging to demise; Nothing but gasmask and lasgun to utilise. I am expendable, A tool for his plans, To kill as is needed and to die as he demands Advance upon the battlements and win this through my blood, A war of attrition. To hinder their progress as my carcass rots in mud, A suicide mission. To bear the curse of life that must seek vindication, Was not my decision. As I step forward, I feel no hesitation. Amongst my division. Just a mere child, Born and trained in a flash, Raised as a brushstroke in his portrait of ash, I am expendable, A tool for his plans, To kill as is needed and to die as he demands The signal was given, From the trenches we dash, I see bodies scatter and spread as forces clash, My blood drips to the soil in a ruby splash, Am I forgiven? Did I find redemption, at last? In an endless cycle, I am a nameless link, The millions from before gone, Too, In a blink. The life of a Krieg solder is a never ending hell becouse they see themselves as nothing more then living corpses waiting to sacrifice for the God Emperor as so dictates the Krieg Cult of sacrifice.
@The God Emperor if you cried every time one of your minions dies or at least the krieg ones, the Imperial Palace would be called "The Imperial Ocean" for a long time. I have never heard anyone using this name. Strange... Does your keepers use your tears to oil theirs quivering ABS'es?

I was expecting something more industrial going into this song. Yet I have found something in the same theme on Ave Imperator or the Sororitas song. As curse and as grimdark the fate of the men of Krieg is, it is in that darkness that they find the light. However dark this is a thing of beauty. Edit to add; and this song captures it perfectly
Guardsmen...where is your commissar? Krieger: ..dead... wha...how..why? Krieger: shot him for cowardice...* runs of in suicidal bayonett charge, cuz that chaos titan wont stab itself to death*
Ever since I got into warhammer, I fell in love with the death korps. The tragedy of their history in contrast with their stoicism and fatalism. They don't know happiness, they don't know the loving touch of a parent; They only know the cold, harsh reality of the 41st millennium. They know that death is on every battle field, yet they don't fear it. They embrace their roles and they fight on in hopes of even gaining the smallest amount of the emperor's forgiveness. Its a tough world, and the kriegsmen know it, but they don't care. They follow orders and they get done what is necessary. Terranis holds, and it will hold forever.
"We're the Death Korps of Krieg, son. Did you think that was just a pretty name? We never retreat. We fight and we die, that's the Krieg way." *-Lieutenant Konarski, 933rd Death Korp of Krieg*
"The Krieg method of war is a measure of discipline and their sacrifice. It demands respect from all -- friend and foe alike." - Lord Commander Militant, Segmentum Obscurus

@@imperialfist2304 Then how about they will make another poscast, but this time will summon one of the famous guardsmen of Krieg? We will have fun, and boys of Krieg - relieve.
The Death Korps of Krieg are probably one of the most iconic regiments of the 40k universe. As a big fan of your music and the Krieg I feel like you gave them justice with this song. It's great and fits them well. Thank you
This song. It tells a story, not about valiant charges towards the foe. Nor about courageous last stands and inspiring words, orders bellowed beneath the regimental banners. No, it tells the story of a people, a people with no hope, save for one thing: Redemption. Only the grim determination to fight in His name. In the hope that *somehow* what they are doing will at some point absolve their people of their inherent sin. The debt that they percieve to be owed towards Him, and His Imperium. It is a story about the cruel and unyielding nature of war, of the unforgiving universe, and the people who - without a word - stand ready. Stand ready to lay down their very lives for their own redemption. But also to prevent other from having to fall, like they themselves did. “People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.” - George Orwell.
@@thekaiser3815 It would be instantly built even harder then it ever was though. "We are finally forgiven, now to prove it will NEVER happen again!" They would probably be even more zealous then they were before after a brief standstill.
Breaking News: The whole totality of Krieg's regiments charged into the Eye of Terror. When questioned, a random guardsmen answered: "We were built to attonish our fathers's sins and kill heretics; and we just done attonishing."
I truly love the Death Korps of Krieg, their unyielding loyalty to the God Emperor, his ideals, and the fact they willingly charge to their imminent death impresses and horrifies even the most stoic Ultramarines.
That ending. It was beautifully tragic. My blood drips to the soil in a ruby splash. Am I forgiven? Did I find redemption at last? Is that what they all ask themselves in those last fleeting moments? It’s enough to make me weep. May the mountains of our corpses earn a scrap of his forgiveness.
I broke the replay button just like the 143rd Siege Regiment broke Vraksian Traitor lines at the Siege of Vraks. Small joke aside, it's an amazing song that captures the mentality of the Death Korps perfectly. 9.5/10, I didn't spot a single mention of the Krieger's most glorious weapon, more powerful than cannons ever could be...the shovel!
A battle rages around, millions of corpses piled in the mud, some long rotten, some fresh and some maybe still warm, a blood red sky above... a distant whistle can be heard, an officer yells "EMPEROR PROTECTS!" as thousands of masked soldiers arise from the trenches... they run forward, weapon in hand, empty visors of the gasmasks showing no emotion... one can feel the ground tremble, as they all let out a muffled scream... "REDEMPTION!!!" (I'm aware that it's probably not how a Death Korps charge would look like, I'm new to the WH40K fandom, I just felt really inspired to write something quick here... I really thought there could be nothing more incredible to me in this universe than the Space Marines. Oh boy was I wrong)
The Death Korps of Krieg are easily my favourite regiment in the entire imperium. Fighting, killing and dying to redeem themselves of sins they didn't even commit, the sins their ancestors committed over 1500 years ago, the most stoic, tough, intense, ruthless, faithful and unyielding men, women and *CHILDREN* I have ever heard and seen. They are criminally underrated and it hurts me to know that. By the will of the emperor, we will fight on. Thank you for this, StringStorm.
Jesu... Emperor of Mankind, I have never heard of your channel before, until this magnificent imperial jewel appeared in my recommendations. BEAUTIFUL. Now, I will binge watch everything else you've made.
"May the mountains of our corpses earn a scrap of his forgiveness." This line summons the essence of the Death Korps of Krieg better than anything I have seen.
This song perfectly encapsulates why I consider the Kriegers to be the most terrifying army in the entire setting. It takes everything mankind is good at, survivability, flexibility, ferocity and the willing ability to both soak up and recover from unspeakable casualties in the name of victory/survival and directs it into a military form aimed at the enemies of humanity. Ollannius Pius was indeed the harbinger. But just what he was the harbinger of is something I don't think even the Imperium, or most certainly the Emperor, wants to see come to be.

Of course Stannis Baratheon would appreciate the Korps.

This is Krieg. This is War.

Yeah, Krieg = war. Blitzkrieg (as in the Nazi's combined arms tactics) meant "Lightning War".

@@philiproe1661 EVERYONE shoots commissars, some just make up excuses first.
There is a difference between suicidal and valiant, INTJ.

As a German that line hit me where i live... makes me wonder how much that aspect of Krieg is a coincidence.
It's pretty much the same for every IG Regiment :
- Cadians are a mix between our modern armies, Colonial Marines and the Canadians Shock Troops from WW1.
- Catachans are Vietnam War Americans and Australians mixed with Rambo's workout.
- Armageddon Steel Legion = Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions
- Mordian Iron Guard = XIX Century Prussians.
- Praetorian Guard = Colonial British Army.
- Elysian Drop Troops = French Paratroopers (they even have a bullpup lasgun to mimic our FAMAS)
- Harakoni Warhawks = American Paratroopers.

Only a child,
From the womb of a machine,
Harvested from tank,
Like waking from sleep,
Born with me,
From the first breath that I take:
"Know their mistakes".
A world that found redemption through a planet's dying lungs,
That witnessed all the fire that blotted out the sun,
Through the Purge could it begin to be undone,
What they had done.
There is no glory or greatness found here,
No tales of valiance or of courage over fear.
This is the fate of the deserving warzone fodder,
Those born with sin and live without honor.
By every passing day,
The ranks grow ever thinner;
This is as is should be.
Here, corpes are the winners.
Survival of the fittest,
Our deaths have been assigned-
And I choose mine.
I inherit sins from those who came before,
Our cursed bloodlines,
Tainted to the core,
From this dead world,
The lessons we have learned:
There exists salvation in the cogs and bolts of war,
I know nothing of the trenches I am to die on,
Nothing of the causes that I'm to fight for,
Only that redemption lies in breaking opposition,
I'll never pause in obtaining exoneration!
Not like the masses who live their live in gain,
I am disillusioned,
Arms wide open,
We embrace our fate,
My life first absolution,
We stride to hell unflinching,
We do not hesitate,
No survival instincts;
Only faith, innate,
Through our pile of corpses,
Triumph we shall gain,
While our cannons rain fire,
Make the earth quake,
Marching to the trenches,
Then charging to demise;
Nothing but gasmask and lasgun to utilise.
I am expendable,
A tool for his plans,
To kill as is needed and to die as he demands
Advance upon the battlements and win this through my blood,
A war of attrition.
To hinder their progress as my carcass rots in mud,
A suicide mission.
To bear the curse of life that must seek vindication,
Was not my decision.
As I step forward,
I feel no hesitation.
Amongst my division.
Just a mere child,
Born and trained in a flash,
Raised as a brushstroke in his portrait of ash,
I am expendable,
A tool for his plans,
To kill as is needed and to die as he demands
The signal was given,
From the trenches we dash,
I see bodies scatter and spread as forces clash,
My blood drips to the soil in a ruby splash,
Am I forgiven?
Did I find redemption, at last?
In an endless cycle,
I am a nameless link,
The millions from before gone,
Too,
In a blink.
Those who'll come after shall earn the same stigmas,
May the mountains of our corpses earn a scrap of his forgiveness.

@@kriegguardsmen5823 Again? we never stopped
I truly love the Death Korps of Krieg, their unyielding loyalty to the God Emperor, his ideals, and the fact they willingly charge to their imminent death impresses and horrifies even the most stoic Ultramarines.
The song charged my ears with suicidal fury.
Not suicide, sacrifice. A Krieger seeks a meaningful death to victory. A meaningless death is probably the thing they only fear.
Forces of chaos: I will not be undermined by creatures bred in some laboratory !
The Death Korps: kiss my mud and gore covered shovel you bastards !!!
“Tough talk for a man in shovel distance”
"REDEMPTION!!!"
(I'm aware that it's probably not how a Death Korps charge would look like, I'm new to the WH40K fandom, I just felt really inspired to write something quick here... I really thought there could be nothing more incredible to me in this universe than the Space Marines. Oh boy was I wrong)
Underrated comment
Its about right. Except you won't actually hear any words. Just a lot of happy gasmask noises.
I wonder if the legion of the damned are krigers who found their way to the emperor and demanded to serve again.
A lifetime of 4:03 eh?
That makes you a fine veteran in the Korps boy.
Survived 4x longer than the average Krieg Guardsman
You can hear Arch weeping with delight.
*Siege of Vraks intensifies*
The Death Korps of Krieg are easily my favourite regiment in the entire imperium. Fighting, killing and dying to redeem themselves of sins they didn't even commit, the sins their ancestors committed over 1500 years ago, the most stoic, tough, intense, ruthless, faithful and unyielding men, women and *CHILDREN* I have ever heard and seen. They are criminally underrated and it hurts me to know that. By the will of the emperor, we will fight on.
Thank you for this, StringStorm.
A physical record release of this should come with a bayonet and a set of grid coordinates where the artillery is already underway.
Awesome as always!
Yes
what do u mean "grid cooradinits" where isnt there artillary? did we run ouit of ammo again?
@@88thdeathkoregrenadier68 no. big guns never tire.
Jokes on you, the sheer determination to absolve themselves of their sin is, in fact, something worth honoring in of itself.
It is, and they are my favorite guardsmen
"We stride to hell unflinching" is one of the best lines ever, it perfectly describes krieg and to some extend humanity in 40k
Jesu... Emperor of Mankind, I have never heard of your channel before, until this magnificent imperial jewel appeared in my recommendations. BEAUTIFUL. Now, I will binge watch everything else you've made.
"May the mountains of our corpses earn a scrap of his forgiveness."
This line summons the essence of the Death Korps of Krieg better than anything I have seen.
But just what he was the harbinger of is something I don't think even the Imperium, or most certainly the Emperor, wants to see come to be.
ave Imperator
This song deserves more likes than the number of Krieg soldiers that die in the average campaign.
Dont think tgeres enough people on Tera for that
