I don't think it is strange for tech reviewers to ignore the regular non-Pro iPhones. They have been like that for many years for every generation of iPhones. It's like they are compelled to only get the biggest and most expensive Pro Max, otherwise they may get looked down upon by other tech reviewers, or the viewers won't take them seriously. It's the mentality of "I must have the best model to get all the attention".
I agree with you. Brazil´s reviewers or abroad, both saying same nosense. I was looking at the specs and comparing it to ip14 not understanding what I was seeing in reviewers. At least some of them, including this channel, are correcting the wrong pre-analysis. I agree that Apples makes a lot of sins as a lack of faster refresh screen, macro, fast charging, a real better battery... but this time was different than when regular 14 was lauched.

People forget pro is an abbreviation for “professional.” Those are the models that people like videographers and editors would want for the log:pro res features that no other smartphone in the world has at the moment. Or for people like photographers who want the longer zoom lens or the extra raw photo features. Or the gamers who want the ray tracing from the A17 chip. The pro models weren’t intended for those who only want basic browsing, video streaming, and decent photos and videos from their smartphones. It is for those who want the everything phone for a specific generation of phone. in reference to battery life, anyone who knows tech knows the 120hz is a major battery drain. The fact the Pro Max has long battery life with a 120 hz screen is great, 60 hz phones will typically have longer battery life.
got myself an iphone 15 plus in blue and honestly, its been the best phone experience i've had so far! the color is great (best in person...), feels luxe, cameras are superb, and ohmygodddd the battery on this baby!!! i'm a little sick of people complaining about the 60hz refresh rate because the average user does NOT notice any difference. trust me bro xD
I have a 12 mini because I love light and small phones. A part of me is wanting to get a plus even though not a big fan of huge phones probably because of the light weight and also how comfortable the 15 is to hold. Also heard the battery life on plus is amazing but it is still a risk whether the shift from mini to a plus phone would be a wise one
Standard 15 and 14/15 pro don’t have the same camera sensor, the 15 has 48MP 1/1.6-inch sensor f/1.6 vs 14/15 pro have 48MP 1/1.28-inch f/1.78 IMX803 sensor. Diagonally speaking it’s 10mm vs 12.2mm. On the bright side, the standard 15 has a stacked sensor design which theoretically increases contrast and sensor sensitivity to light.
I received my iPhone 15 in yellow on the 22nd and so far I am in love! Love the camera and video is awesome! Love the pastel color and got a clear case to show it off! I also matches my iMac yellow!
I got myself the 15 plus (in green which looks great) and I love it. Apple hit it out of the park with the base models this year. I see why Apple didn’t include think like ProRes video or proraw photos. Even though the 15 could do it, they are making a point with the Pro model being for pro users. The everyday user isn’t going to use those features. The same with usb-c 3.0. I can’t remember a time when I last plugged my phone into a computer. I just use the port for charging. 120 hertz or lack thereof doesn’t bother me a single bit. These displays are great. I would have liked them to bring always on to the regular models (we know all oled displays can do it. Doesn’t have to be 120 hz to do it. Especially with standby mode being a standout feature on iOS 17. I know it still works on the regular 15s, but it’s not the same as always on. These are great phones. These got the biggest upgrade this year hands down.
@@DonnieChoi that’s really only a question you can answer. For me, it’s not too big. 6.7 inches is a big phone though. So it might be too big for some. I like big phones. Its the sane size as the 15 pro max
@@DonnieChoiif your used to phones the size of the regular iPhone 15 then it may take a while for you to get used to it. I have big hands and I still struggle a little BUT I got a case that has a strap that I can put around my wrist and I put a pop socket on the back. These two things have made using it a LOT more comfortable for me.
pick up a blue 15 plus and love it . it's all i will need for a long time .. 60hz it a small drawback but never a game breaker . i also seldom need usb 3.0 . i great buy at a very reasonable cost. and the battery. are you kidding me ? lasts forever . great choice
As someone who usually goes with the base model flagship iPhones, the base model iPhone 15 looks rather compelling for me. I still don't know if I'll upgrade from my 13 mini. I mean the 13 mini is a rather special iPhone that I enjoy using. But after owning it for two years, I am starting to hit its limitations with its screen size and battery life more often. Also, having USBC on the base model, while it would have been great to have USB 3, is still a massive upgrade for me due to now being able to use the same charger, earbuds, and accessory hubs as my MacBook. Ngl, I half expected that I would get a Pro model for my next iPhone. But the upgrades to the base 15 this year are honestly big enough for me to justify continuing on getting the non-pro models, which is good for my wallet because I'm still one of those people who thinks that spending $1000 on a phone is absurd and unjustified.
Hi @Marngel. If you may, I would give you a advice: ip13 mini is a nice device. If you are administering the battery issue, why not wait until IP16 launch? You will still have a chance to buy an ip15 or... who knows about regular ip16 could be a game change? Again, you have a solid device and jumping 3 generations will make you feel a real upgrade. But it is up to you at the end.
@@dielreis I appreciate the advice. Normally, I would actually upgrade every three years, and I intend to do that when I got my 13 mini back in 2021. However, my use cases for an iPhone has changed quite significantly, much more so compared to with my older generations of iPhones where I continued using them for mostly the same non-power intensive tasks. After getting the 13 mini, I take photos and videos more often now due to getting into more content creation, and the iPhone is now an essential tool for my work flow. Granted, the 13 mini can still do all the things I need to do pretty well which is impressive given its size. But at the same time, I acknowledge that a bigger iPhone with a bigger screen and battery can do these same tasks in a more comfortable way for me while also lasting a lot longer. I guess for now, I’ll hold off from upgrading given that there aren’t any major deal breakers that makes the 13 mini an unusable phone now. But given just how much more I’ve been using my phone for more and more important stuff, I’m not sure if I can just wait another year for an iPhone that is unlikely to be that different from the current generation. iPhone upgrades are getting smaller and smaller. So I’m not expecting the iPhone 16 to be a bigger upgrade from the previous generation compared to the 15 from the 14.
Considering a phone isn’t just a phone anymore, increasing costs aren’t unreasonable. Smartphone tech specs are rivaling those of some gaming computers now, which are around the same price points. Modern phones are now high definition photography and video cameras, gaming consoles, video editing tools, streaming platforms, and a host of other things. in addition to a phone all rolled into one. For those who want cheaper smartphones, those options exists. But as with most things, whether it is computers, cars, televisions, houses, bicycles. Food, etc, there are low cost versions and high cost versions. It is all about what suits the individual. In the end, as with any industry, no one can get the best things tech has to offer at low price points. The beauty of it is all is there are tons of low cost options.
@@Marngel The iPhone 15 already has huge upgrades for a base model. The problems with waiting for even bigger upgrades are (1) the phone will be proportionally more expensive; (2) it will be a year later; and (3) after the big upgrades come out, you have to wait another 2 months to see what reviewers are saying about the big upgrades. And then you might want to wait for the 17 for Apple to work out any kinks. (That happened with the 12 mini.) And then you might want to wait for the 18 for even bigger upgrades, and repeat. In the current 15, the upgrades are big but the technology is already well-established at the same time. There is no question about whether the tech will work well.
So what do you think does the phone feel large just wondering I have an iPhone 13 mini that I’m gonna keep another year cause it’s working great and the battery life is still really good on that. Like 100%. It’s almost been a year or so. I don’t see the need to upgrade, but just wondering, how was it carrying a bigger phone now

If I were to upgrade to a base model, I’d go for the Plus in space black. For me it’s the only color I actually like in the base. For the Pro range the only one I’d disfavor would be the White, all the other colors seem excellent. Due to financial considerations and the fact that my 14 is working well for me I cannot justify the spending.
Cool. I like the light colors. I hate dark colors because they disappear in low light. The phone could be sitting right on my couch in low light, and I could fail to see it.
Mark me down as one that MUCH prefers the wide lens on the 15 to the 15pro. The 13Pro has the same focal length of 26mm. It was on the 14 Pro that they went with 24mm, which allows you to fit slightly more in the slightly wider shot- but at the expense of a worse minimum focusing distance (which I was actually just running into while listening to this video on the laptop and taking a picture of a smurf figurine lol), and at the expense of slightly more distortion and stretching of the wider image. The 15 pro has some great features.. but I may use them 4x a year? Having access to full 48 megapixels on the 15 is a huge selling point and really making me consider dumping my 13 pro and picking up a 15.
Went from a 13 pro max to this. Man this feels light in hand and bright, i have to turn down the brightness all the way down at night and battery life is insane,on par with 13PM
I’m still using the IPhone 11 PRO Max … and the Battery is still going strong as that model did …. Upgraded that year before the rounded edged IPhone model disappeared 😄 I’m thinking maybe next year upgrading when they release IPhone 16 to IPhone 15 Plus unless something happens or Apple installs software to bug your phone and force you to upgrade 😂the Battery life on it is looking like the best ever on IPhone .
I mean, unless you have to have the newest camera iPhones all look the same I’m not picking on them I’m just saying you can keep an iPhone for years and you miss a few little like interesting features like dynamic island like wow so you missed that but besides that you know, iPhones were great that’s why they sell so well you can keep it for years, so good on you
I have mixed feelings choosing between the 15 and pro models. I would've closed my eyes and picked the regular 15, if not for the 60hz refresh rate. I am just so used to a high refresh rate. But then again I don't wanna spend that many extra bucks just for the refresh rate alone on the pro too.
I have OnePlus 8T with 120hz and iPhone 11 60hz. So far after using OP then switch to iPhone 11 it just takes me few minutes for my eyes to adjust back. Idk, maybe there's something with iOS refresh rate that feels smoother than when I change OP's refresh rate to 60hz (it's so choppy). But that's just me.
@@lifeisshørt_420I got used to 60hz after a couple hours. I do however notice 120hz if I have both phones side by side. That’s when I learned that on a phone it’s not that big of a deal. On a gaming monitor on the other hand does matter to me.
@@kielvostro the answer is apples 60hz feels smoother than androids 60hz because apple has slower animations but they make sure they carefully adjust and make it feel smooth to the eye and they make sure every part of the OS feels smooth unlike a lot of android manufacturers

Bro u have killed this review..its shocking no-one is talking about such important real world used cases in such simple manner.. We shoot in a small studio and so for us the 26mm on 15 vs 24mm lens on pro does make a huge deal, specially coz we need to take 2x portraits..5x is too close for us to use..so u have cleared so much doubts for us that 15 is more value for money + infact better for us than the pro model.. Can u plz confirm how does 2x of 15 stand against 3x of 14pro or 15pro, is it really that much of difference or we can get relatively similar quality? Just from a human portrait perspective.

I buy used iPhones for my personal use and I am at least one or two models behind the current model. I am happy to wait until the price comes down. I am not a captive of the latest tech in phones as I use them for phone calls (i know, who would have thought). Sure my desktop and tablet are the latest, but that is where I do all my work. And I use video cameras for video, shock horror!

Me too, 12 pro got Lidar, in my knowledge, iPhone 15 didn’t have the lidar sensor which has instant AR placement etc like 12 pro & 15 pro , 15 pro could take spatial video and import to Apple vision pro etc ; I am torn too, coz I really love the light weight of iPhone 15 yet we have to sacrifice some advanced features
Its really a want ... because for me it was 829+73 dollars in sales tax then if ur trading in your phone for me it was the iphone 11 so u minus 150 after the 902 and then u left with ... $752 which is not bad depending on your finances but its a new phone for me the biggest difference is how it feels in your hands its 128 gb it brighter and it has dynamic island and im pretty sure the iphone 16 will have the iphone 15 pro chip and have the action button on the base model but Iphone 15 is nice phone to finance for $31 for 24 months

I tried a friend’s 14pro, it runs great and fast and is very smooth. But the weight alone, was enough to keep me away from it..plus he complained about battery life sucks on it. I’ll get the regular 15 or wait for 16 regular.
In the announcement they said the 15 has a 2x optical zoom ? This was not correct. It would be nice for them to give you the option for the Pro Raw rather than not giving you the option and making you pay 200 more for the privileged. Google gives you RAW on the base pixel 7, hell even on the budget A series phones
The iPhone 14 wasn’t exactly a disappointment more ram better camera crash and satellite features but the 15 is a big jump I’m not sold on the colors they look good but just not my thing
How about the hollow plastic feel when tapping front or back on the basic 15 model? I got very dissapointed with that. I got my first iphone now. I think that feel very cheap. I had much higher expectations.

I have a 13 mini, great phone. I am going to get the 15 and keep my 13 mini as a backup.

I just got traded my 12 mini for a 15. Just got it today! It’s great so far.
So what do you think does the phone feel large just wondering I have an iPhone 13 mini that I’m gonna keep another year cause it’s working great and the battery life is still really good on that. Like 100%. It’s almost been a year or so. I don’t see the need to upgrade, but just wondering, how was it carrying a bigger phone now
@@jejunamja yes it’s definitely noticeably larger. The mini’s are awesome! I have a 13 mini in the mail 😊. I will be testing both to see which one I prefer.

If I were to upgrade to a base model, I’d go for the Plus in space black. For me it’s the only color I actually like in the base. For the Pro range the only one I’d disfavor would be the White, all the other colors seem excellent.
Due to financial considerations and the fact that my 14 is working well for me I cannot justify the spending.
Cool. I like the light colors. I hate dark colors because they disappear in low light. The phone could be sitting right on my couch in low light, and I could fail to see it.
Mark me down as one that MUCH prefers the wide lens on the 15 to the 15pro. The 13Pro has the same focal length of 26mm. It was on the 14 Pro that they went with 24mm, which allows you to fit slightly more in the slightly wider shot- but at the expense of a worse minimum focusing distance (which I was actually just running into while listening to this video on the laptop and taking a picture of a smurf figurine lol), and at the expense of slightly more distortion and stretching of the wider image. The 15 pro has some great features.. but I may use them 4x a year? Having access to full 48 megapixels on the 15 is a huge selling point and really making me consider dumping my 13 pro and picking up a 15.
Went from a 13 pro max to this. Man this feels light in hand and bright, i have to turn down the brightness all the way down at night and battery life is insane,on par with 13PM

I’m still using the IPhone 11 PRO Max … and the Battery is still going strong as that model did …. Upgraded that year before the rounded edged IPhone model disappeared 😄 I’m thinking maybe next year upgrading when they release IPhone 16 to IPhone 15 Plus unless something happens or Apple installs software to bug your phone and force you to upgrade 😂the Battery life on it is looking like the best ever on IPhone .
I mean, unless you have to have the newest camera iPhones all look the same I’m not picking on them I’m just saying you can keep an iPhone for years and you miss a few little like interesting features like dynamic island like wow so you missed that but besides that you know, iPhones were great that’s why they sell so well you can keep it for years, so good on you

I have mixed feelings choosing between the 15 and pro models. I would've closed my eyes and picked the regular 15, if not for the 60hz refresh rate. I am just so used to a high refresh rate. But then again I don't wanna spend that many extra bucks just for the refresh rate alone on the pro too.
My friend has trouble looking at 60hz screens now after using the 13PM for a couple years, makes his eyes go funny 😂

I have OnePlus 8T with 120hz and iPhone 11 60hz. So far after using OP then switch to iPhone 11 it just takes me few minutes for my eyes to adjust back. Idk, maybe there's something with iOS refresh rate that feels smoother than when I change OP's refresh rate to 60hz (it's so choppy). But that's just me.
@@lifeisshørt_420I got used to 60hz after a couple hours. I do however notice 120hz if I have both phones side by side. That’s when I learned that on a phone it’s not that big of a deal. On a gaming monitor on the other hand does matter to me.
@@kielvostro the answer is apples 60hz feels smoother than androids 60hz because apple has slower animations but they make sure they carefully adjust and make it feel smooth to the eye and they make sure every part of the OS feels smooth unlike a lot of android manufacturers

We shoot in a small studio and so for us the 26mm on 15 vs 24mm lens on pro does make a huge deal, specially coz we need to take 2x portraits..5x is too close for us to use..so u have cleared so much doubts for us that 15 is more value for money + infact better for us than the pro model..
Can u plz confirm how does 2x of 15 stand against 3x of 14pro or 15pro, is it really that much of difference or we can get relatively similar quality? Just from a human portrait perspective.

The main camera sensors are not the same. The Pro's 1/1.28 sensor is 1.4x bigger than the regular 15's 1/1.56 sensor.
I buy used iPhones for my personal use and I am at least one or two models behind the current model. I am happy to wait until the price comes down. I am not a captive of the latest tech in phones as I use them for phone calls (i know, who would have thought). Sure my desktop and tablet are the latest, but that is where I do all my work. And I use video cameras for video, shock horror!
Again, thanks for the review it looks like a good phone for somebody that’s upgrading from an older phone maybe an XR or an iPhone 8 Plus or something and maybe a 12 I don’t know about that one but I haven’t an iPhone 13 mini I’m gonna keep it another year. Ha I have had my 1st iPhone 8 since 2017 and just wanted till the right fit for me came and made sure that I used every component of my iPhone 8 which i Still Love ❤, But in the last 2 years I say have been thinking about 1 day upgrading so last week I pre ordered my 2 nd every iPhone 15 in Pink and I am so so glad I waited for this year everything I ever wanted I have.

Me too, 12 pro got Lidar, in my knowledge, iPhone 15 didn’t have the lidar sensor which has instant AR placement etc like 12 pro & 15 pro , 15 pro could take spatial video and import to Apple vision pro etc ; I am torn too, coz I really love the light weight of iPhone 15 yet we have to sacrifice some advanced features

Its really a want ... because for me it was 829+73 dollars in sales tax then if ur trading in your phone for me it was the iphone 11 so u minus 150 after the 902 and then u left with ... $752 which is not bad depending on your finances but its a new phone for me the biggest difference is how it feels in your hands its 128 gb it brighter and it has dynamic island and im pretty sure the iphone 16 will have the iphone 15 pro chip and have the action button on the base model but Iphone 15 is nice phone to finance for $31 for 24 months

I tried a friend’s 14pro, it runs great and fast and is very smooth. But the weight alone, was enough to keep me away from it..plus he complained about battery life sucks on it. I’ll get the regular 15 or wait for 16 regular.

In the announcement they said the 15 has a 2x optical zoom ? This was not correct.
It would be nice for them to give you the option for the Pro Raw rather than not giving you the option and making you pay 200 more for the privileged.
