Lars Mars Cars I’m gonna say it this vehicle should have downforce from heavens gates I mean that vehicle should be able to compeat in the lemans and win every race all that damn angle in that wing if that car gets in forza that should be the ultimate track beast n never be beaten bcus they made zenvo shitty in forza n they didn’t come with wing the older models I will say
#dancingwanggang
Lars Mars Cars this is pagani huayra’s wings on steroids
Naw.... It's #Theo
#tiltingbigwanggang
Honestly I clicked, cause I thought that the spoiler broke and you were joking about active aero. But holy shit.
itsjuank lol same
Same
Great April Fools joke - but the joke is, it's not a joke!
Same here . Was thinking damn that think looks like it’s going to fall off any minute
Ikr it's pretty badass.
Can it flip itself back over if it rolls?
robot wars🤣
Don't fucking move.
Lol
Probably not itself, but no one said anything about pancakces ;)
Yea just hold X.
When I saw the thumbnail a few days ago I thought the wing was broken so I didn’t click, then I saw engineering explained’s video and came here to watch. That wing is INSANE and even better functional.
It functions? Are you sure about that? www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/a21081048/zenvos-tsrs-rear-wing-analysis/
I love EE channel. I'm going to check it out
If it looks stupid but works, it ain´t stupid ;)
no its stupid. the car is slow, the reaction of the wing is SLOW... imagine if your steering cycled like that. i promise in all out driving it will be wonky.
g zimmermann thank you, the wing moves to slowly and you see on the straights the wings will try to Tilt with even the slightest turning
@@g__wizz ur brain is slow
The car was going slow becuz the driver did not want to fucking crash
people are silly. if it works better its cool. every new idea looks a lil wonky at first. its a black sheep.
@@g__wizz it's even tiling in the wrong direction. The concept is good, it's like the Pagani Huayra's, which worked, but it tilts in the opposite direction, which won't do any good.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought the wing was broken..😂😂
One Of Da Kind that's what I thought too XD
that's what I thought at first as well :P
Same 🤣
One Of Da Kind i was laughting so hard to see this comment hahahahaha XD!!!
Me too haha
Zenvo with that spoiler seems like that special kid in class lmao
But also the one that was gifted and is super successful now
It‘s the car version of that one kid who used to run around like naruto
Enderfailer it's called Twice Exceptional
Chief Kile Well I did run around the school like that, but I'm the biggest failure ever and don't own a Zenvo... 🤔
mehmet 1923 That special kid that out does everyone in the end
Top 10 bugs of Forza Motorsport 7
Pagani , Buggati , Lamborghini , Lexus : We have wing that go up and down !!
Zenvo : *mine can go up , down left and right* :)
But can you do this!!!
you forgot to mention the very first car who introduced the first adjustable wing and its none other than the old Porsche Carrera .
Pagans doesn’t have a active wing they have aero flaps that go up and down depending on your turning and breaking.
Just like the wonkavator!
Lamborghini has ala, not moving wings except for the centenario
Ridiculous to see.. haha wow
Sem Meijer really ridiculous!
That's a good way to describe it, my thoughts exactly, haha
Yep. I mean, at higher speeds maybe it is effective, but that thing moving at 30mph is fucking pathetic
it's actually quite creepy too imo
Not only ridiculous but stupid.
Slow clap for it not catching on fire.....
Adam Brcic 😂😂
They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they never stopped to ask if they should.
why not though? helps cornering
it's a great idea I could see a future version of the Valkyrie with this tech
That only really applies to moral/ethical dilemmas. This is engineering. Let's see what happens!!!
it cant, not being that slow. its wonky technology. wings them selves are wonky a product of bad aero to begin with.
g zimmermann Bad aero? Almost every racing body uses a wing. A fan setup is really the only way to reduce drag and maintain down force but it costs power.
Such a brutal car, that spoiler is insane! 😍
your name is motorsport, yet you cant tell the difference between a spoiler and a wing?
We really needed to see this comment ?
the active aero is cool and ugly at the same time!
its like the group b cars. only there for functionality and ugly, but that makes it cool again
Spastmatiker
IMO the RS200 is quite the looker.
ill give you that one. well it was made especially for rallying, so it could be designed with aero in mind. the other cars just have "bolt on" wings and air canals, which makes them look like insane frankenstein machines
had to see this after the Explanation of "Engineering explained"!
Looks like slowest car in the circuit
indra bendi slowest driver
Maybe the driver was afraid to release the wind like a boomerang over other driver's heads lol
There she goes to kill me chicken nugget right lol
It has 1200 hp and if I'm not wrong nearly totally carbon fiber body so I doubt it is slow. I saw a video where it was going past everyone.
The driver was worried the car would take flight with that spoiler.
Some cars have aero brake, this has aero steering.
Huayra too but it looks alot better (but probably not quite as effective as zenvos)
if you thought it had an accident😂 😂 spoiler alert! it didnt😂 😂
Boooo!! Get off the stage
😑.....really 👎
bil SPOILER alert
bil lmao good one😝
bil Super,cool i want one
I swear I have thought of this design for years, nice to see someone tried it :B
That's a really neat concept. Maximum down force when needed, minimal when not. Very cool.
Some people said that Panamera spoiler is too much, well here you go
I saw this Car too and I was thinking 'What is happening with the Cars Today???'
The Free Hardstyle Uploadz /Dj The Subwoofer like the ships from the game wipeout.
THE FUTUUUUUURRREEEEE
The Free Hardstyle Uploadz /Dj The Subwoofer Done correctly, you have the best grip ever in curves and barely have to break, thanks to physics.
iirc variable aerofoil is a bit old (and another banned thing in f1) tech.
Cars are evolving. Wait til they incorporate body panels that acts like wings.
This is when Lightning McQueen from Cars 3 cant keep up with the new generation of racers.
Sadly enough, that works.. He gets an upgrade and BAM! Crazy Zenvo.
Jason 5.0 I am speed.
spectacular footage
wing on drugs
Wang on drugs.
OptimizticPizza yeah big wang
WEED
"this is your wing. *shows picture of normal racecar wing.* this is your wing on drugs. *shows clips of this*"
NICE VID! LOVE IT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :)
The AmericanK9 Thanks bruv
Lol, great to see... I'm an advocate of active-aero devices. This example is a bit clumsy though, it will be interesting to see how it gets developed and refined. A number of other cars already have active aero, independent of left and right turns, playing with different techniques.
That is the coolest WANG I've seen so far
when I saw it i literallysaid to myself: dude... why is he driving with a broken wing???😂 but then I heard it from a person next to me and I was like... WHUT??!!?! 😂
carspotting.ig *literally....
Same
This car is so epic!
BB Q so?
Automotive Mike now all that needs to be done is srt releasing that vision gt
now if only they could make the car not look like it has a physical deformity
asianpower3000 Thanks to that "physical deformity" it's faster in curves than most of the other cars.
Unattainable Anonymity
Most other cars are also not 1,200 HP, but yea... it's all the deformity. That's why so many Formula 1, Indy, and other cars that go much faster have that exact same thing...
Oh wait...
Psyrecx I highly doubt that you understood my comment.
Dood. It's Gumper Apollo of 2018
Unattainable Anonymity I highly doubt that your brain functions.
They all sound beautiful and they are all pieces of art.
i wish Jeremy Clarkson review this, it will be hilarious 😂
This is literally a car you would see in a burnout game! Looks AWESOME!!!
Just watched the physics involved on Engineering Explained. Jason explains how this wing works...pretty dang cool!!!
Wow that wing is a major distraction
I think this is the real function. Distract the other drivers behind you so they wreck. Win by attrition.
I'd take the Koenigsegg over it every day.
Y G sad
Y G everyday are u sure. U couldn’t keep it on the road long enough to enjoy it
Woody81 why not?
Me too. Soo much better
Y G well if you take a koenigsegg then you would get wrecked and crash in the wall if you push it hard
It's about time someone did this.
Wow, that's impressive, Zenvo's doing such great things
First time I saw this in another clip, I thought the wing was broken. Lol
I've been waiting for years for someone to do this with active aero for cornering, it makes so much sense at high speed. If you can turn an airplane with it why wouldn't it help turn a car. I believe ford experimented with this a long time ago but it was banned from racing. Imho this should be the next level in racing aerodynamics and I'd love to see more of this in LMP en F1.
Amazing engineering! Love it!
With an Aero like that, I can't help but feel that this thing will roll over on a high speed turn.
Does it really create that much more force than a fix wing? Looks overly complicated for a small game.
*sees the moving wing in thumbnail*
Yeah right "aerodynamic"😂👌
*watches the video*
holy shit...
The wing that brakes and repairs itself, on the go!
this is probably the most radical aero i've ever seen
I was more excited to see, and hear the Eggs
rootsman99 Video of the Koenigseggs coming soon 😎
rootsman99 fanboyism
Michael Johnson naaaa just not a fan of this car at all.
rootsman99 any particular reason as to why?
rootsman99 they where hard boiled
I think it kinda reacts too slow like when the car went through the s-bend
Through "geert timmer corner" now your circuits corners😉
@@jveenstra101 know your english 😉
This is Brilliant! wow
Strange nobody thought of this before.
I love the wing this definetly desires a like!!!!
It would be nice to see someone drive this car hard, and not as Vin Diesel would say "granny shifting through the whole dam track"!😂
The driver must be James May, since he turning on the signal when entering pit lane
You do realize he's the fastest out of the 3 he just plays a character
That's so clever transferring the downforce onto the inside tires with the triangular strut.
0:08
That koenigsegg
"okay, I'll let you go ahead of me, but remember this, im the fastest, you're gonna eat dust later."
😂
The wing is spectacular!✔️
John Armendariez It doesn't do anything. It is pointless.
XXXHoodooXXX Does absolutely nothing. Right.
spectacular joke.
What it *does* is reducing downforce and traction, facts in need of straightening✔️
i though at the thumbnail that the spoiler is almost broken..
Very underrated car, beautiful and aggressive design and that wing, the wing looks fucking cool lmao.
Now that’s some active aero!
active aerow at those speeds will make very little difference compared to the weight of such kit
You're right. Hence why some shitty little company is the first to do it.
I was thinking the same only worth it at much higher speeds...
@@enlightenedidiot9552 and at much higher speeds you will require the actuators to work at a much faster rate than shown in this video.
Although a vantage like that can be deceiving as far as speed goes, they were going a lot faster than it looked. It is a novel idea though I'm curious how much advantage it affords considering the extra weight of the support equipment.
I was just thinking te same thing. The tech vs weight ratio must be documented.
why not active flaps like pagani huayra tho
Pagani could sue Zenvo for that idea if they went that way.
More surface area is more effective.
@@user-zv8qg1co4z not really.
*BIGGER, BETTER, STRONGER*
@@-daigher-2549 except it isn't...
I've seen a lot of cool stuff in my life.
But, that.
Just, wow.
Those wings were lit 🔥
I'm all about technological progress but man this looks odd.
I bet that's what they said about a first person trying to ride a horse :D Just as an example.
@@Quicksilver_Cookie I think the difference is that horses worked.
Ur spoiler is look all cool n all but CAN IT DO THIS
KrpytedKid $399 !
Omg I thought of this before. But damn, this is beautiful
Zenvo's aero dynamic is at next level
Is there an explanation of how it works anywhere? My mind tells me that when entering corners the wing should be tilting in the direction the car is turning trapping the clean air high up and consuming the dirty air near the car allowing for turning to be easier, yet it faces the next direction.... hmmm, I'm slightly confused ... I'm not an aerodynamics engineer, but it would be interesting to hear how it actually works... I saw Shmee's drive with the creator but it's still not clear how it works to me.
it turns the opposite to raise the spoiler higher in favor of the turn so that the side of the spoiler catches more air because the cars side in terms of corner tends to have less traction when turning, for example the car turns right, in relation to this the spoiler tilts to the left in order for it to raise the right part higher, same concept with the pagani Huayra where flaps on the back and front raises depending on the turn and how much angles does it require to stabilize the car during a turn... it is also gyro stabilized and is activated only if the car is travelling a certain speed.. otherwise it would be very stupid looking for the spoiler to tilt left and right while the car is moving at a speed say like 20 kph.
okay I think I understand you. It makes sense now after reading your comment and watching the video once more. Thanks
Shmee got it wrong aswell, so I don't blame you for getting confused. The effects if tilting is twofold, i'll try and break both aspects down in their basics:
1) The negative-lift force, that on regular spoilers is known as downforce, will stay perpendicular to the spoilerplane. Tilting the wing like this will induce a force-fraction on the horizontal plane towards the inside of the corner. Since it's hard to achieve a factor of friction between street-tyres and tarmac of 1 or higher, this is a very effecint way using the available lift the spoiler can generate. From the Zenvo numbers, tilting should generate 27% more usable force when cornering.
2) The fact that the wing is pivoting around a point mounted high on the Z-axis of the car, means that said horizontal force-fraction will create a rather large moment of inertia around the x-axis (longitudional) of the car. This moment of inertia takes presure from the outside rearwheel and forces it onto the inner rearwheel instead. This means more total tyre-area in the tarmac, which then means more mechanical grip and more evenly distributed wear on the rear-tyres (which is relevant for track-cars, since all circuits are inherently looped). Pretty much acts like an "aero-stabilizer".
Pwnahontaz i apreciate your try, but please get that "more tiresurface on the tarmac" out of your system if you try to lecture someone on physics, i get cancer from reading this over and over again, so please.. and i think you didn't brake ot down you basically just got rid of all the formulas, mate^^
it reduces the stress on the outside tires so they last longer and creates a force which turns the car towards the inside of the corner without risking to lose traction as it increases the downforce as much as needed to keep the car stable while at the same time turn the rear end.. much like the huracan performante..
The Huracan and TSR-S aeros are pretty much two very different ways of achieving.. two very different results. :)
I thought the spoiler was talking off. It very well might at high speed.
at high speed this wing will probably be at 1 degree , so the resistance will be minimum and it will change only if you tap the brakes or turn so yeah , not gonna happen !!!!
That is creepishly awesome
It's only a matter of time till every panel on super cars is active. Does this have a matching front active system underneath or in the vents?
I was expected the title to include "fire" in it... XD
Brandon Gao dead meme
Brandon Gao 1:26 There you go, FIRE!
The thumbnail wasn't much of a spoiler
Is it connected with the steering wheel or does it react to speed and direction through an individual sensor system?
Im just happy I get to see one thats not on fire.
Isnt this the one that caught fire in top gear?
no, that was st1
yes
i thought it was mazda furai...
Same brand, not the same car
sdry no its the st1
How long before that breaks😂
All the way to the Finnish line.
That fully rorational wing reminds me of that extreme tuning lambo doors, which can rotate into every position :D
One question, is the result is better/faster at corner than usual static spoiler ?
Its actually used for deflecting the flames away from the other cars.
It looks like the spoiler is going to snap off
it looks so happy
Amazing supercar:)
I thought it was broken
Lmao I thought it was broken
Truly amazing.
Lol it looks pretty cool, definitely stands out.
So is that helpfull at all?
Maybe not super effective in terms of lap times, but it's definitely good for the guys developing the technology.
nope. All super/hyper cars would have one if it did.
its new tech, its also very possible that these kind wings aren't road legal, which would keep supercar manufacturers from using it on their vehicles.
It just hasn't been developed enough to be worthwhile yet.
Imagine 10-20 years from now, an F1 style car with fully articulating aero surfaces, it would be an absolute monster. Obviously we'll never see that kind of insanity in road cars, but the ability to actively manage aero forces (in all 3 axis) would be a breakthrough in stability & control. I feel that the main roadblock would be making the cars visually appealing once we have the technology.
+Jonah Beale Active aero was developed by F1 teams over 30 years ago and then banned by the FIA for F1 as the poorer teams couldn't afford to compete. In modern F1 even passively self-adjusting aero is banned - wings are required to not flex above a certain amount
The zenvo spoiler looks ridicules.
John Schotz it's a wing and not a spoiler
*Ridiculous
Nik Falcon this 'wing' is a spoiler. It curves the wind so a spoiler and still looking absolute ridiculous.
That not what spoiler is meant to do. A spoiler is meant to 'spoil' the airflow over the car to reduce downforce and is usually no taller than a few centimetres . A wing is usually made taller than the car's body and is used to increase downforce.
John Schotz so does your English.
It looks amazing. Zenvo had created something new...
How does wing tilting give advantage in terms of grip?
Wtf
Does that thing actually help? lol
Vartazian360 Probably a ton actually. If you look at the way the wing is tilting it's putting massive amounts of down force on the outer rear tires.
No
d I highly doubt that wing can handle meaningful amounts of down force without breaking
So you sir know more about aerodynamics than the entire Zenvo dev team..
+Clous von you clearly don't have a clue ....lmao
That's really wicked.
GT stole the show though... that road presence!!! 😍
Pretty weird...
It seems a bit slow in changing direction. If the car is pushed to the max I feel like the wing is not going to keep up with the steering. Seems like a stupid concept.
GKY yea it definitely won't keep up it had a hard time keeping up with the car being babied
I wondered what input was controlling the spoiler? A sensor on the steering wheel or g force meter?
bunch of sensors most likely, combination of steering wheel input, speed, g-force, hell maybe even throttle input
Load sensors on each rear wheel strut. When a wheel goes light it tilts the other way to put more load on the light wheel.
GKY
Brilliant design
th-cam.com/video/Hvocv9zF10c/w-d-xo.html
That’s pretty sick.
Very cool! : D
lmao, that's just ridiculess. Even at low speeds where aerodynamics doesn't play any part, the wing is operational. That Agera R behind it was like, alright come on buddy, move out of the way already.
SgtKanyo LOL yup
Even the 911 GT3RS was waiting for it to get out of the way in the corners. The Porsche driver must have been absolutely bored getting stuck behind that thing in turns.
