When you have the best hyper cars ever known to mankind drag racing in a drag strip surrounded by the most overwhelming scenery imaginable in a country like Switzerland makes this the best TH-cam video ever known to man.
Unfortunately if you live in Switzerland you may know this sort of thing is very rare to happen. We may heave some of the best driving roads in the world but as Jeremy Clarkson once said: "Welcome to car hating Switzerland", and sadly he's right. If you speed they'll treat you like child molester, even installing an after market air filter can make your car illegal, and void the insurance if you heave an accident (good luck if you bump that CLK GTR). And when I see the US guys LS-swap everything I think to myself, why not get a Ferrari or Porsche instead? Cause getting an eingineswap road legal here may be just as expensive. Why not turbocharge than you say? Again why not buy a car with the amountn of power you need, it'll be just as expensive. This must be Ambri airport, Can't imagine this sort of event happening anywhere in the conservative central part of Switzerland.

These cars are slow compared to most of the races I've been to. My cousin's car does the quarter mile in 5.89 seconds at 245mph. Not as pretty, but much faster :)

Yes I could not make it down the tarmac under full gas half down the track so I coasted rest of the way. Clutch was worn before this day and was a known issue. Had to get truck transport to get the car home because clutch was done! Cost was approximately 55000$ USD for replacement. Ouch

The Ferrari 812 impressed me, dropped very badly and still passed the Aventador S at the end of the straight on the two times they ran, with respect to the others see FXX K, CLK GTR, 12c, Enzo, Carrera GT ... all together is a dream , this event was incredible, even more so the walk on the Swiss roads, even though I had the opportunity to see in person !! I'm with some videos of this day and other similar events in the last months, I just lack the editing skills, it's very annoying !! Great video

As a manual transmission car, they need a "Tall" first gear ratio to keep the motor from enduring "Labor" on take-off under load, but I not believe hi-gear ratios for first gear are available in terms of choice(s) for Ferrari, Porsche, lambro, GLK, etc...European and Italian sportscars are built for endurance Can-am & LeMans type performance where "how fast is your ride?" is more important as opposed to "how quick" subsequent to quarter-mile performance !

I don't think he had traction control on, The 1st gear in that car is good for about 80mph, and it has "only" 600 horsepower. Think about it. Also it has an electronically actuated dog-engagement sequential gearbox which I think he was trying to clutch in for shifts. THAT was stupid.
I think the clutch on a Carrera GT is something crazy like 20 grand. Edit: $18,999USD for an aftermarket reman. $24,999USD new OEM. And about $5k to install at a dealer.

Absolutely!!!...None of those cars are 'geared' for drag race type applications that's why they had to 'rev' them when takin 'off otherwise the cars would 'Bogg' off the line and THAT would be very embarrassing ! As a manual transmission car, they need a "Tall" first gear ratio to keep the motor from enduring "Labor" on take-off under load, but I not believe hi-gear ratios for first gear are available in terms of choice(s) for Ferrari, Porsche, lambro, GLK, etc...European and Italian sportscars are built for endurance Can-am & LeMans type performance where "how fast is your ride?" is more important as opposed to "how quick" subsequent to quarter-mile performance !

He forgot to remove the traction control for the drift, hence why it didn't work as intended. He's actually a pretty damn good driver.
I don't think he had traction control on, The 1st gear in that car is good for about 80mph, and it has "only" 600 horsepower. Think about it.
Also it has an electronically actuated dog-engagement sequential gearbox which I think he was trying to clutch in for shifts. THAT was stupid.

I think the clutch on a Carrera GT is something crazy like 20 grand. Edit: $18,999USD for an aftermarket reman. $24,999USD new OEM. And about $5k to install at a dealer.
