Very nice product review! Being a (happy) user of the FitCamX, I am 100% in line with your conclusion. I now understand why there is a larger hole option for the mirror cover. On my side, I don't have the digital mirror, and I could use the FitCamX cover without removing the pre-cut part. I can say that the result is "perfect", it fits exactly the original piece and you don't see anything of the inside of the cover. For me, the OEM look of this dashcam is a very important advantage, not only for cosmetic reasons, but also as it does not attract the attention. People can't notice there is a dashcam on board, unless knowing the NX450h+ in its smallest details. Another detail, I have changed the provided SD card for an "endurance" model. About viewing a video on the phone while connected in WiFi, I have the same experience as you with a Samsung S21. My conclusion is that it may be related to the size of the file vs the available bandwidth. I have changed the video resolution to 2560x1440, and it allows a smoother view on line. By also choosing a 5 minutes length for the individual files, the downloads are much faster (at the cost of a lower definition of course). Anyway, my preferred way to review the files is to use my laptop and transfer the files from the SD card (which is "instantaneous", compared to the download time to the phone). One last tip, you may prefer to select "Low" for the "Collision Sensing". This will prevent the cam from locking unwanted files while just braking suddenly or drive over a bumpy road. This dashcam is a very nice product, my only regret is that I bought my FitCamX before you did this review so I couldn't use the coupon!
It seems to be something related to the Android devices as my iPhone does do a much better job in downloading the files and previewing videos. The OEM look is great and definitely looks better than my Lexus Genuine Dashcam. Really hope Lexus will release a product like this or just include it as part of the vehicle. But I do understand that if they do put it in, FiTCamX will lose a lot of business. Thanks for your continued support. I was worried about the long term reliability but after having this for a few months, ours still works well. I like that it is a capacitor power instead of battery. It goes on and off seamlessly. The heat and cold will not affect performance.
That's great to know. I will report back on this and will compare it with the Lexus Genuine Dashcam in the future. But overall I am pleased with the dashcam. The price is great.
The camera is not always recording. When installed with Parking Mode, it's low powered mode, but FitCamx does not provide the details on it. It does not have low power protection, so if you opt for parking mode, you need to ensure you drive your car often.

No, it uses wifi technology called wifi direct. Which is a direct connection between your phone and the device. Another option is to take the memory card out and plug it into your computer to download the videos.

You can always remove it for any warranty work. You aren't cutting any wires to have this installed. There is no difference installing this to other dashcams. Max capacity is 128gb.

Horrendous gap on the cover plate. Look at 12:06. The gap is clearly much bigger than needed. You can see the insulation, screws, and wiring. Doesn't look OEM at all. I too have the digital mirror. From my normal driving position, I can see the round ring where the mirror stem goes in. I might still get the Fitcamx. If I do, I may put some black electrical tape on the inside of the cover plate, then trim with scissors to get a smaller gap.
It's definitely bigger than needed, but if you can see it while driving then you really sit high. I typically don't see it because I sit lower as I don't like my hair brushing the headliner. you could drive a circle and cut it out smaller to fit, but I think they allowed a bigger hole to allow air in and out as well. I still think it's the most OEM looking dashcam at this time.

Hi, is it possible to lock video with button like other dashcams can do? example: rock struck my window and Im not sure if the camera (G-sensor) saved the files so i press button to lock the video by hand.
There is a camera button, but it's only for a photo image and not locking the video. The camera can support up to 128GB sd card and it can store many hours of videos. I measured 73.2 GB of video is about 7 hours and 20 mins at 4K. So if you have a 128GB, it can record 12 hours of videos at 4K resolution. You should be able to stop and download the video you are interested in.
hey, not sure if you expereince it or heard it from other owners. the outside door handle button of my nx350 is feeling stiff (there's no button press feeling) but the door can still be opened with greater force tho. probably some how it's 'freeze' due to cold weather? because if I put my hands on it for couple minutes , the button press feeling is coming back, but I can clearly hear some sound (like air compressed sound) when I press it and it only happening on driver side door...
I haven't experience it yet. It just got to 0 degrees the past few days, but my car hasn't been out in the cold for that long. I am still able to press the button hand have that feeling. It does make sense that the rubber could harden a little more in the cold causing that feeling. I will look out for it.

Not sure if you have a similar experience or maybe I just got a lemon. My Fitcamx stopped working after 7 months and I am currently working with the company for warranty replacement.
I was going to do a video on the comparison. The biggest question is what do you need to dashcam to do. If you are just comparing these 2 here is my download: If you need recording while driving only - FiTCamx. If you need recording and parking mode - FiTCamx (but you will need to install it with the fuse cable). If you want a better software experience the OEM one is better, as it can show speed and GPS etc... Image Quality - FiTCamX is better. I would choose FiTCamx because it's lower in cost and over all a better integrated camera.
I don't have parking mode setup, but looking at the manual it seems like the dashcam does not beep or tell you that there was a g-shock incident. The dashcam does lock the video that is recorded so you can see the incident.
Yes I do get emails from them now that I pulled their money from the credit card. They won't believe me it's the wrong camerafor my car it's 4 inches too short and 3 inches shor in width. And mirror hole is way off to the side
I installed this camera today, only to find out that the FitcamX app is not available for download in the USA...help please! There was nothing in any of the specs that mentioned this..
@@lsft I emailed Fitcamx Support and they said the ios fitcamx app is being "modified and updated", but did not say when they expected to release a new online version. The Viidure app was suggested as a substitute and they implied this was temporary, but it does not have all the features of the Fitcam App that you previewed in this video... a very unrefined version of the Fitcam App at best. I wonder...has anyone else in the USA had problems downloading the Fitcam App for their iphone?

I hope it would just be a few days waiting for Apple to approve the app. Unfortunately, you can't just side load the app on an iPhone like how you can do it on the Google App Stores. @@lsft Just downloaded it - thanks! The UI looks more like the FitcamX app on your video. It also has the option to set the resolution to 4K, which the Viidure app lacked (2K maximum). I'm still trying to determine if the increased resolution on the app really makes a difference in the videos themselves. Will let you know.
Android auto uses WiFi and FiTCamx uses direct WiFi. So you must disconnect Android auto in order to connect to the dashcam. That's the nature of technology. The only way to connect both together you'll need to use USB for Android auto and connect direct WiFi to the Dashcam.
It would have been nice if you tested removing the SD card and tried reading it in a computer (using the supplied reader) to test how that worked. That seems like it would be much faster than transferring over Wifi. Thanks for the otherwise good video.

What car model do you drive? At least they finally responding to you. I see they have the Bolt EV EUV 2022-2024, but I assume that is not what you drive.
Do not like this product the bottom oem cover are cooling slots and inside there is heatsink. This cam basically covers this us and creates more heat by having camera there.

@@jackreza504 If OEMs start integrating dashcam like Tesla, most dashcam suppliers will go under. It may be easier for them to just buy one of them and have the team so the integration. There are already a bunch of cameras on the vehicle. Maybe it's just software.

Dont go with FitcamX, they look great installed since they look OEM, but the product itself is poor quality, video isnt that great, and the customer service is embarrassing. They sent me a box without the rear camera and are making it difficult and almost seem like theyre accusing me of lying. If I wanted to lie I would just return the camera and say its missing a part, not ask for you to send me the part!!!! Either way, Im returning it since theyre playing hardball. Also, they repeatedly send me emails with answers to questions that Im assuming were meant for other people, since they mention different cars and what needs to be done to install the camera on them. Not a question I asked.

Not sure why you say it doesn't fit properly. Fits perfectly on mine. I don't know much about the sensor as it did not provide specs on the sensor, so I wouldn't say it's not even a Sony sensor. Really need to dig in more, but an f/1.6 sensor is not that bad is it?
@@lsft I thought first and 2nd don't fit. When I purchased it didn't fit. F stop deals with aperture, meeting how much and light comes through and how open the lens gets because of how much light is coming through. It's an inferior product, without many of the hardwired parking functions or capabilities that other cheaper and more established companies offer. It's a no go
@@jackreza504 it didn't fit at first because of design of the cover didn't account for the redesign. It now fits perfectly. I know what aperture is and an f1.6 means in low light situations it can capture more light. I agree that there are other options out there. This is not a feature rich dashcam, but some ppl only need that much and don't need all the other bells and whistles. But saying it's the best product out there, but it meets the needs. If you want parking features, you can install it to the fuse and get parking features that just get the installation a little harder just like other dashcams. I appreciate and understand your decision on the no go decision.
@@lsft it still would NOT have have a motion sensor, the parking feature would still not be useful, no time lapse.... It is not the worst camera, HOWEVER, it's bad for the price in IMO. The camera should be priced at 80 to 100, but it's priced at 160 to 180 USD. Im not down Excellent video and comments as always 🤙👍

What if I have digital mirror? I have 2023 Lexus NX 350 F-Sport with digital rear view mirror. Which one works for me? Same method as this one? 🤔🤔
I have the digital rearview mirror as well. It's the same one. Just need to cut the opening like what I did in the video.

No, you just need to install the correct version and it will work. You install an app on your app to connect to the dashcam to see the videos

I does not have an action button to lock the file. the file is auto locked if it feels g-shock (meaning someone has hit the car)

Correct. Unless you are viewing the recording, the dashcam will stop recurring.
Can i see video on my car dahboard ?
No. You can only see it via the mobile app. It's the same with most addon dashcams

If you are concern with heat then definitely a concern. But installed for 2.5 years and no issues whatsoever.

Dont go with FitcamX, they look great installed since they look OEM, but the product itself is poor quality, video isnt that great, and the customer service is embarrassing. They sent me a box without the rear camera and are making it difficult and almost seem like theyre accusing me of lying. If I wanted to lie I would just return the camera and say its missing a part, not ask for you to send me the part!!!! Either way, Im returning it since theyre playing hardball. Also, they repeatedly send me emails with answers to questions that Im assuming were meant for other people, since they mention different cars and what needs to be done to install the camera on them. Not a question I asked.
That's bad that you experienced a bad experience with their support team. I guess do a refund and buy another brand if you are not satisfied.
Yes I have 2023 bolt.. they say the don't make it. But they advertise it. Charged me. Sent me just part. If you don't make the bolt font advertise it. Don't let me order it now I have a 250.00 piece of junk. It's a big scam. And your pushing the scam
Why are you saying that I am pushing the scam? My video is NOT a Bolt, but a Lexus NX vehicle which they do produce and sell and many happy consumers. It's an unfortunate problem you have, but I reserve the rights to reject your messages of me scamming people which is NOT true. Search for youtube videos that talk about Bolt and fitcamx and see what they say. I do not have or show anything about a Bolt dashcam. Plus, my referral never sold a Bolt dashcam.

It's an overpriced product with inferior sensor, not even a basic Sony sensor, with poor integration that is not fitting properly
Not sure why you say it doesn't fit properly. Fits perfectly on mine. I don't know much about the sensor as it did not provide specs on the sensor, so I wouldn't say it's not even a Sony sensor. Really need to dig in more, but an f/1.6 sensor is not that bad is it?
@@lsft I thought first and 2nd don't fit. When I purchased it didn't fit. F stop deals with aperture, meeting how much and light comes through and how open the lens gets because of how much light is coming through. It's an inferior product, without many of the hardwired parking functions or capabilities that other cheaper and more established companies offer. It's a no go
@@jackreza504 it didn't fit at first because of design of the cover didn't account for the redesign. It now fits perfectly. I know what aperture is and an f1.6 means in low light situations it can capture more light. I agree that there are other options out there. This is not a feature rich dashcam, but some ppl only need that much and don't need all the other bells and whistles. But saying it's the best product out there, but it meets the needs. If you want parking features, you can install it to the fuse and get parking features that just get the installation a little harder just like other dashcams. I appreciate and understand your decision on the no go decision.
@@lsft it still would NOT have have a motion sensor, the parking feature would still not be useful, no time lapse.... It is not the worst camera, HOWEVER, it's bad for the price in IMO. The camera should be priced at 80 to 100, but it's priced at 160 to 180 USD. Im not down

@@jackreza504 that's good feedback and hope they will see your comments and price the camera accordingly. Only reason why I'm ok with the pricing is because I paid 500+ Canadian (about $475 USD) for the Lexus dashcam.
