The border union endorsed the border bill saying it was the best in decades. Yet they haven't endorsed Trump so far. They know he stopped it.

I thought we made the generational shift with Barack Obama and I was happy. When he became president, I was 57. (Gee, that was a long time ago now.) And then in 2020 we went back a generation to candidates who are older than I am. Not just in one party, but in both. VP Harris is three years younger than Obama and Obama is sixteen years younger than Trump. We should already be working down to the next generation below them, slowly but surely, and all we might be doing this time around is getting back to Obama's generation of politicians. But at least that would be a start.
It's not that 80-year olds should be put out to pasture. I hate the new law in North Dakota. It's not that 60-year olds are automatically competent. But you should have to prove yourself to be as deserving of support at 80 as you were at 60, assuming you were knowledgable, competent and experienced at 60. The Democrats have a parade of potential candidates who are 60 and under. So let's start with the person whom the delegates to the convention are flocking to this time and go forward, not nostalgically backward. Whatever happens in November, PLEASE, we don't need to have Hillary nominated in 2028.

The difference between Hillary Clinton's Campaign in 2016 and Kamala Harris's campaign in 2024 cannot be more starker. Clintons were epitome of Washington establishment and had no energy and enthusiasm in her campaign. Even though she won the primary against Bernie Sanders but it was really an anointment. Kamala Harris instantly brought energy, enthusiasm, and a jolt of momentum into this campaign even though she did not really win the Primary in this election cycle. Is this sea change going to work, only time will tell.
