Asian cities have the benefit of 21st century technology and engineering improvements. However, cities like New York and Chicago are still impressive on a global scale.

That's the problem with all these Arabic countries, they may have the best skyscrapers but you will get fried alive in the solar radiation if you're not prepared for it.

I expect to see some of these on “grist engineering disasters” videos. The steps are: 1) architects concept, 2) Herculean engineering efforts to comply, 3) Cost cutting meddling by the bean counters. 4) second guessing the specifications by contractors. 5) Collapse.
