Yes, I would suggest to have a local do the shopping for you while you observe how they negotiate. At the markets, or with informal vendors, don't take the first price your given. Make a counter offer bc the price they're giving you is the ideal selling price, but in reality the cost may be much lower. It's just simple bargaining. Win some, lose some.
Appreciate the advice. At this juncture the prices are so fantastically low compared to Canada that we are content with that and feel no need to haggle!
Please don't negotiate prices. Those people work so hard to make the living. When we go to grocery stores we don't ask them to reduce the price. Please stop telling people to do that.
@@leosegovia340 I wouldn't tell people to do something if it didn't have an effect on the rest of the population. The reason I say to negotiate the price is because there have already been problems that foreigners have faced when buying products from local street vendors. Most foreigners don't like the concept of paying a "foreigner price" vs price locals pay. In economic terms, if foreigners start paying a foreigner price, it'll only drive the price of every day products to inflate. The problem with that is, local Salvadorans don't make the same salary that foreigners make in a week. Other than that, I know the locals work hard and I know products are under paid compared to prices in the US. I'd suggest tipping the local on the side for excellent service and attention which will compensate for the under paid products.
I really like both of you, you seem really genuine, appreciative and loving couple. I enjoy watching your videos and your new journey - from Australia (Salvadorean in Aus)

People have the right to live in the country they like the most and where they feel happy, foreigners Welcome to El Salvador👍✌😜
Thank you! We are so grateful for the warm reception Salvadorans have given us.
Nice video
Thank you!
If you are from the USA, or Canada $21.00 it's a good deal for those produce. But for the average Salvadorean those are very high prices for food that a decade ago was ten times cheaper.
Well that was with the changes to us dollars. Sadly. Only good for the Rich companies
Have a happy life guys
Thank you!
I like your video guys and enjoy my country El Salvador, good deal $21.00 good 👍👍👍
I grew up in a market like that El mercado central

You know you could seadon and eat the hibiscus? After i make the hibiscus tea/water, i re boil it until water runs clear. Pat dry, season as deaired (i like to season with adobe, or chipotle, and sauteed with onion, garlic, seasonings and eat on tacos 😋
Right now avocados in Denver are almost $3 each 😱😱
The second one is called wiskil, or challote, Spanish squash
Your video is music for my ears. Thanks you for sharing ?😊
Welcome to our country! Don’t be afraid to negotiate prices be careful with some people will charge you more just by being a tourist. Enjoy your stay
@@allfaomega now I get it Alex, thank you for the explanation.
I really like both of you, you seem really genuine, appreciative and loving couple. I enjoy watching your videos and your new journey - from Australia (Salvadorean in Aus)
Thank you for this kind comment. I'm sure you'll be here soon enough! 🇸🇻
