When you enter in air to air mode, make HUD SOI and hit TMS UP. Then your AIM9 will enter in search mode, and if find a heat source will lock at it. Much better than trying to lock whit the HUD. Also you can move the seeker where you want.

Really been enjoying these A-10 mission videos. They seem to be getting more and more complex and difficult and that's great to see. This one may have been the best so far. Something cool to see would be a short bit at the beginning talking about how you decide to load out the A-10 for the mission and why you made those choices.
In the A-10C training missions they teach you that the range on the APKWS is 5.2 miles, at least from a decent height, and I've found that to be an effective range in my use of them. No need to wait for the circle dial to start to wind down.

GS saw the fast mover in side profile, it had an irregular exhaust plume, with spurts of black soot... he immediately thought of the MiG-29's dirty engines, like the J-79 equipped third gen US jets from the 60's and 70's and said, "that is a Fulcrum... good tone, firing." It rolled and showed the top plan form/view of an... F-15. He as not being reckless, he simply succumbed to confirmation bias. He wanted his evaluation to be correct, without seeing the need to deconflict. Glad to see he noticed it and mentioned needing to buy the Eagle Driver a beer... but a few cases and handles of Scotch Whiskey is what I'd be sending instead, having shot an all aspect heater at a blue force jet. Great lesson for all of us. Be professional and don't fall for hunches and guesses.
I am loving the A-10 videos. I would also like to see more of the multirole mission videos where you take on both air and ground targets in a complex environment. They're probably a bit harder to set up but they are my favorite type of vid!

Saw this winged beast at the Atlanta Air show last year. The sound of the A10 cruising over is absolutely beautiful. I just got back from the ATL air show today, and no A 10 this year. But it was replaced by the F22 Raptor 😮
A-10 content is by far my favorite. I enjoy seeing other planes, for sure, but I think I like how this is somewhat more laid back and less chaotic. If I can ever afford getting a plane in DCS, I'd want the A-10. Air-to-ground just seems to be my jam. I'd expand on that eventually but the cost is fairly prohibitive for now. Keep up your awesome content and I'll keep watching!

really enjoy the a-10 content. maybe throw yourself into campaigns like Persian Freedom and super-cut the missions to an entertaining format or use single engagements from the missions ;) you´ll get a wide variety of scenarios, limited set of munitions and have to use nine-lines and attack vectors.
I'd like to see some fast paced A10 content. Like you have an emergency fire mission in contested airspace where you have to run through terrain to avoid enemy radar and finish off with a quick yet devastating strike. Maybe you only really have time for one strike because once you pop up the enemy scrambles aircraft to take you out, and the little or complete lack of escorting aircraft means you can't loiter in the area and expect to survive. Sounds interesting because, as you've said in many videos with the hog before; it's not very capable of operating in contested airspace.
loool the problem with the scenario you painted there is that the a-10 doesn't do anything "quickly" the enemy can have lunch and then scramble and I'd still be exiting the airspace.

I mean, you shouldn't be. Helicopters are basically defined by their ability to have a 0-radius turn.

a interesting A-10 story for those interested would be Gary Wolf flying a Battle Creek MI A-10, was hit over Iraq and lost an engine, almost entirely.
