As a descendent of this man(he was my 2x great grandfather) let me clear this up! Due to England occupying the north, my family were Irish Resistance Army(the ACTUAL inhabitants of the land of that time definition now is different) and Queen Elizabeth the first called for their deaths for resisting and some of us scurried to 'The New World' at the time what is now known as the united states. The castle was bombed around that time and that is in fact what brought it to ruin. My great grandfather was born in ireland but died and was laid to rest in america. As was my grandfather and father.
